Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Same at my closest store. Damn impatient/ignorant rich people around here who had to buy 6 freakin' copies at $24.98 .
A further store had a bunch last time I looked so I assume it is still in stock there. But it seems the general consensus is that it is still at $24.98, right? So it isn't worth checking into right now (20 mile drive - I'd have to have more reason than that to go there).

And let's please cut the chatter on hiding games and whether it is worth waiting for games to drop from $25 to $12 (personally I think it is, but hey...).

As for the person that asked if you can return games once they drop in price (or more importantly, out of the system) - you most certainly can. I just returned a Stuntman Ignition that was bumping up against the 90 days (offered it here several times first). Of course I got my full $14.98 back .

Anyway, let's try to keep the discussion focused on finding new clearance games, price drops on existing clearance games, and posts with particular locations with clearance goodies. Reporting that games are the same as last week is OK too as it saves others the hassle of going out to check. Like, now, I don't think there is a need for me to rush to out and find the Simpson's game.

check your local k-mart for SCA as it is 10 bucks (ymmv, but seems to be one of the more common games, seen it at 3 kmarts myself).

Also stundman just dropped to 19.99 used 17.99 combined with coupon to get for 16buckish.

MY Kmart is actually worse than Target. I have NEVER found any of the clearance stuff for newer systems at KMart even worth it. The most I saw was sport games from 06 and alot of PS2 and Xbox garbage games. I gave up on KMart .

They had a pile of PGR4's in the case, also tagged at retail price. I asked him to check those, and he said: "Oh, now this one I know isn't marked down. It's a brand new release." Scanned at $14.98.

Oh, his tears were soooo sweet.

Saw the new PS3 markdowns on Lair and Orange box for $29.98 and MoH Airborne for $41.98. Will try to hold out on Lair for $14.98, already have Orange box for 360 but will keep my eyes out for fellow CAGs.

I also got one of those IHome Ih52B Ipod stereos with a subwoofer. They were $199 and I got one for $49. I don't have much use for it though.

Another question (somewhat of a newb question). Are markdowns chain-wide?? I only ask because like the above poster said, the games were not marked down, but they still rang up. So is it possible to get a game that isn't marked properly for the lower markdown cost??

Markdowns are not chain-wide. Each store marks down clearance prices at different times/amounts. It is highly possible that you'll find stores that mark down things in the system but fail to put the red clearance stickers on products. Your best friend at this point is a price scanners along the aisles. Scan the UPCs from the products or better yet, print out some UPCs from the various online sites and scan them. If you see a good price on the scanner you'll get that same price at the register.

Actually, it's much simpler than that. They went as it's called in Target "Salvage" After a certain amount of time of items being on clearance, they finally hit a 0$ dollar value, which means we have to ship them back to the district warehouse to have them shipped back to the manufacturer or a discount place. That Target messed up by not taking those items off the shelf in the first place, and usually we will still sell you the item since it's our fault, but it's really up to the discretion of the store and the employee.

Picked up Orange Box on PS3 for $29.98 - $5 toy coupon. Using the coupon took a bit of work, though. First, the cashier said "Aren't these coupons supposed to be in color?" Sure, if I had a color printer, they would be. He next thought that the coupon was fake because it didn't say "Super Target", only "Target". After getting the OK on that, I told him that I had used it before on a video game and that it worked. He asked two different people who both basically said "If it scans, then it's fine."

At least I got the Orange Box for $25.
