Thanks to Skube and Oxidative for this coupon. Important things to note-- this will make games ten dollars or under free, but it's advised to buy another item, such as a pack of gum.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store.

Unless they have different UPCs they will all scan for one price.

So just because the white label says $29.99 doesn't mean it's $29.99. Find the DCPI number (207 XX XXXX) and enter it in one of the price checkers to find the actual price it will ring up at.


I apparently missed my chance at Orange Box for the PS3. I was looking for 2 copies, one for me and one for my brother in law... but wanted to pay $15. Lowest I saw it here was for $30.

I also got Guitar Hero 3 (PC) for $39.99, I haven't tested the guitar yet, I'm going to try Rock Band and the GH 3 demo thats on Tony Hawk. However based on the fact that the guitar has a little Xbox 360 "Home"button on it I'm betting its the same one that comes with GH3 on Xbox 360.

I also saw (but passed on) a bunch of Gameboy Micro's for $55.

Rise of Nations is great. One of my favorite RTS games ever. If that isn't the Gold Edition, try to find the Thrones and Patriots expansion, which adds tons of gameplay, in addition to originally omitted American faction.

Alright two things:

1.) It was Rise of Legends that I got for $7.48 not Rise of Nations, my bad, but both solid RTS games well worth $7.48.


2.) The PC GH3 guitar worked flawlessly with Rock Band. Didn't bother with the GH3 demo but I would assume that if it works for RB it would work on everything.

Question from the post I read at the top of the page. Do they really have to scan it to get it to fall in price? Reason I ask is because there are a few individuals on this site (and slickdeals, fatwallet, etc.) that hide games till they drop and then buy them. How do they drop if they are hidden? Seems like the whole scanning thing is BS to me.

I got The Club for 25$, not sure if I'm gonna keep it or not yet though. It looked cool in screenshots but I'm gonna have to try the PSN demo to make my final decision. Two stores I checked out only had two copies of it (one only did 30% off markdown to 41.98)

Yes but it is hit and miss. My store had tons of copies of The Orange Box last week and today they had 3. By the time I left the store, they had none.

Let me put it this way. I scanned Lair, MoAA, Oragne box and they all showed 29.98 on the scanner. I asked the electronics guy and he said the drops are automatic and happen at 7 am in the system. I saw the markdown lady and asked if they are dropping and she said she will only check if I am going to buy them if they dropped. She scanned the 3 games (and one or two others) and marked lair and Orange box at 14.98 each.

Target goes by DCPI numbers, so as long as there is 1 to scan, then the rest will drop.

**This part is just a theory, but I believe Target has a national markdown that is automatic if an item is dicontinued in their reorder (EDI) system and are still in stock after a certain date.

- Orange Box dropped to 14.98 (picked up the last copy)
- Simpsons dropped to 24.xx (still waiting...two copies left)
- Motorstorm dropped to 14.98 (picked up one copy, one left) Is this game worth keeping?

I think Airborne dropped to 24.xx (since everything else was dropping by 25%) she didn't scan it and some basketball game or baseball game dropped to 14.98 (didn't pay attention since sports aren't my favorite genre)

They had atleast 10 copies of Kane & Lynch and The Club each (though I dont remember seeing that many the last time I went).
