This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.
Wait, so...
as of now, I could get

Motorstorm and Tomb Raider underworld for 7.48,

Burnout paradise, LOTR conquest, prince of persia for 9.98,

Mirrors edge for 13.98,

GRAW 2, motorstom pacific rift, socom confrontation, wanted,

wheelman for 14.98

all for PS3 as new from my local Target?
Read the OP! Why don't people ever read the OP!?

Target Clearance is YMMV. You'll be lucky to find a lot of these titles as it is; and even more lucky if they're at the lowest prices given by other posters.

Still waiting for Riddick to drop from the current 19.98 price. Wheelman for 9.98 was a great purchase. Fun game and I especially like all the mini games. Nothing like a street race with traffic and the ability to shoot the other racers and monkey slam them with your vehicle.

Had been trying to get a USB HDD from target forever now with the past ones they clearenced out.... finally snagged one.

Picked up a 500GB WD HDD for $49.98, the only one marked (DCPI#:080-00-0660) had about 10 or so 500GB marked at 99.99 and prolly 10 or so 1 TB drives for 99.99.

Odd part was it scanned OOS for some reason, so chic at the register had to do a few things, i guess to override

Other than that my 3 targets as of late havent had that much going on clearence wise it seems

I have no idea what YMMV is. I'm new here, man.

It means Your Mileage May Vary . Targets all do their price changes on different days and some prices hold or go down quicker at different locations. Your best bet is to go and get a feeling of when they do their price changes , which could be fridays , mondays or maybe other days in the week .

Welcome and good luck.

Edit: Also read the very first post , its most informative.

"YMMV" means your miles may vary. Pretty much means deals won't be the same at every store and you may have to travel to different stores to find the price you want.

But isn't this process all contradictory because it takes time to get there. Time = money. It also takes gas to get there.

You may be saving a couple of dollars through these sales, but it all fails because you're using time and gas!

You will learn that when you score a game that is still $40 to $60 everywhere for $10 or less , that keeping tabs on when these price changes happen is well worth the time .

I also pass many targets because of my job so checking in on them is nearly effortless. The savings can be HUGE if your lucky enough .

What I got from that was that say Killzone 2 is $60 at best buy, and you find store xyz that sells for $10?

Or I'm assuming you mean after many months/years+.

Either way, I'm just looking for games that are well worth the time and effort and games that my own library don't stock!

It's ok to be new. I'm not trying to be mean, but why would you start reading a thread without reading the first post to understand what the thread is about? There just seems to be a poster every week asking questions that have already been answered in the original post.

It's only a "waste" of time and money if you go well out of your way to seek these deals. Getting a $60 game for $15 is worth spending a few minutes to stop by a local Target if it's nearby. Most people just have a Target close to their home/work.

Depends on many things:
1. the game itself
2. the location
3. how long the game has been out

You won't be seeing a new release put on clearance unless it's trash. The good games will take several months. Case in point, PS3 Rock Band 2 (game only) was hitting clearance a couple months back and I picked it up for $15. Motorstorm Pacific Rift hit clearance last month and I got that for $15 as well. They're by no means a "new release" but still worth getting, especially at $15 a pop.
Nabbed a copy of Wario Land Shake It! for $12.49 yesterday at the North Little Rock, AR Target. They've been on clearance for about a month now, but no one has touched them because they're locked away behind the glass. I'd say there are at least 5 or 6 copies left.
That's a great price. I got the game from Gamestop a little while back for $20 and was pleased with that. I haven't had much time to play it, but from what I have played it seems like it will be a lot of fun. I've heard it is short, which I think will be the biggest downfall, but for under $13, it is a steal! Great find!
Wheelman for 9.98 was a great purchase. Fun game and I especially like all the mini games. Nothing like a street race with traffic and the ability to shoot the other racers and monkey slam them with your vehicle.
I keep for getting to pay attention for Wheelman at Target. I played the demo when it was on sale for $20 somewhere and thought it was decent, but decided not to get it. For $10 I would definitely get it. I can't remember now if my Target has it because it is generally a game I would overlook, but I'm pretty sure they don't, I seem to remember seeing it for PS3, but don't know if they still have it... thanks for reminding me :D
What I got from that was that say Killzone 2 is $60 at best buy, and you find store xyz that sells for $10?

Or I'm assuming you mean after many months/years+.

Either way, I'm just looking for games that are well worth the time and effort and games that my own library don't stock!
Listen dude , every one has opinions of what is well worth their time and money . If you don’t want to target and find these deals im sure we all will be happy there is one less person fighting for the very limited stock that gets put on clearance . Im trying to help you and your coming off as an ass.
This thread has helped countless amounts of CAG's and I personally have saved hundreds if not thousands over the years .

Im giving you the benefit of the doubt because your new but please don’t piss on these threads , this site and this community .
No Prob!

Yeah, takes months until a game goes like that. I just waited a couple of months and got Oblivion goty for $20 new, ninja gaiden sigma $20 new.

Now I want GTAIV and it's $30 new, but I want it cheaper...
I also want Burnout paradise $20 new but I'd want that cheaper.

I doubt they do Killzone 2, Infamous, etc. for $60 at places and then other places having it $15...

what are you talking about in that case? lol :cold:

So I'm in good hands, right? I get good games at new for $20. I'm looking for a game like GTA IV at $20 too, though.

I'm not argueing, i'm trying to make a logical argument for maybe not your situation, but my situation. We are in a recession, right? :bomb:

Yeah, you can save money... but those hours that you spend getting to the store and looking... cash register to purchase... etc add time. Gas money cost too (unless you walk, then that kills up more time).

If you put those hours into working, you will see that your time working and then not devoting time to consistently look up prices like a stock will override that. You save more money, actually. I dont need to calculate it out. I mean, yeah I do the savings... why would I buy say killzone 2 at $60 or something... of course I wait months until eventually it goes to $30.. then hopefully $20. I did that for Oblivion goty and ninja gaiden sigma at $20 a "pop." Both new too. I'm satisfied at that savings and I didn't have to keep up with the price drops. I just go in to gamestop, find the game knowing that these two games are great and high-ranked games on gaming websites, buy for the $20 bargain, and play!

Not so hard!

I'm not getting your point at all. I don't think anybody is driving 30 miles out of their way or something crazy like that to stop by Target and check for price drops. I drive by my local Target a few times a week, so it's no problem at all to drop in there and check out their clearance section when I want to do so. Bargain hunting can become a hobby in itself and rather fun when you score something at a big discount over retail. BTW, going to Gamestop isn't always a good idea.
I have no idea what you're trying to say, but it's 6.98 at my Target. It would take you time and gas to go buy it though.

Then my area sucks, then. I see games like burnout paradise for ps3 at $20 new.

I just did gamestop for oblivion goty and ninja gaiden sigma ps3 at $20 over the summer because it's not too far from my home. I save more gas money/time by just going to gamestop in that case.

Just keep doing that then. No need to concern yourself with this time-wasting-target-clearance-hunting-expedition.

You and everyone else here knows that Gamestop > Target anyway!

Ya, but I'm still hunting for like Burnout paradise and GTA IV. I hate GTA IV at that $30, though. Burnout at $20... but I'd want that lower.

Confoosios you flamer! :bomb:

Didn't see this posted yet, but I saw:

MySims Kingdom 13.98

That's the sacrifice you will have to make. If you want it as cheap as people have been getting it for, you need to hunt for it. Don't want to hunt? Pay regular price for it then. Simple as that.

Burnout at $20 may be regular price, but it's still a damn good game and if you're too damn cheap to shell out $20 for it, then I don't know what to tell you.

But I did hunt without having the purpose of going hunting though... I picked up oblivion goty and ninja gaiden ps3 new at $20 from gamestop this summer... I knew already that they were "classics," "hits," "one of the best games on ps3," etc... I know they were at $60 standard price but after months of waiting (without purposely waiting), I just go to gamestop wanting a game for the summer (and more perhaps) and find those games and buy them at that bargain price. I also got MGS4 at $30 if that's appealing at all.

BESIDES, I'm not saying people waste their time going to target.... that's only if you go just simply for a few games. If you're going there with other things to do like picking out birthday presents... getting equips for kitchen (IDK), then mind as well look into the games for deals, right? I see that as "legit," at least in my scenario.

Yeah, but I paid $20 for oblivion goty and $20 for ninja gaiden sigma. $10 more for MGS4... I don't feel like Im getting moneys worth EVEN AT $20 for Burnout paradise. I am pretty damn cheap :bouncy:

As other members have said before, dropping by their local Target isn't a big problem because it is close to or on route to or from home/school/work. If you can spare a few minutes to search and get a $50-$60 dollar game for $15, then it is worth it to most of us. You won't always find a win on each visit, but it is a risk we are willing to take.

Lol...maybe if you like scratched discs, cheap game case, and no manual

This has been posted already, but the Nashua, NH Target had like 8 PS3 and 8 360 double guitar sets for $22.48. They also had Socom for the PS3 with the headset for $30.

I was being sarcastic. But I guess taking half of my post out of context may make that hard to detect.

12 + 1 Xbox Live Cards $25
Illinois ;)

I'm going back in the morning for a couple more.
To be specific, these are at the North Aurora store, Near I88.

There were about 10 cards left tonight. On the clearance end cap, hanging on a peg, behind a camera/ipod case.

I can try and stop and get more, but I ran out of $.
Because it's not a waste of time. I can still find somewhat reasonable deals that can fit into my scenario. BTW not all deals from gamestop are good... I mean best buy with the 50% off is appealing to me. That deal is what... 9/6-9/12? Probably going for that
damn..enough! this is not a frickin blog.
Report game, dcpi, system, and price...

Rinse repeat...and always read at least the first page and last 6 pages or so of the mega threads...
a lil time and all will be clear without 20 personal opinion/discussion posts.

Dropped into one of my lesser frequented Targets today. They had the following DS games on clearance:

Personal Trainer: Walking 34.98 (30% off)
Personal Trainer: Cooking 13.98 (30% off)
Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir 13.98 (30% off)

I personally think that Mystery Case files would be great at the price. Alas I already have a copy.

BTW: This was at the Tempe Target McClintock & Baseline

I can also confirm that in Austin, Texas. Went in to Target, got NCAA Basketbal '09 for Xbox 360 for $14.98 clearanced, and GOT THE $10 GIFT CARD. So technically, got the game for $4.98 lus tax. WOOOOHHHOOO!!!!

I know...

and for $15 games-- what games are they usually?

I'm getting mine for $20
I can confirm that the NCAA Football and Basketball 09 (both $15 at my store) games prompted the cashier to give me $10 gift cards. I scanned them first to make sure and the scanner said "gift card offer" next to the price.
I also can confirm this in Austin, Texas. Went in to Target , bought NCAA Basketball '09 for Xbox 360 at $14.98 clearance and still received my $10 dollar gift card. Crazy when it does say that it excludes clearance games to recieved gift card. But I'm happy!!!!:D

Dude, I don't think anyone understands what you are saying.

Either

a) your command of the english language is piss poor
b) your idea of logic is ass backward

If you don't want to waste time and money deal hunting at target and you love gamestop so much you want to marry it, WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE?

Hey, did you guys hear the news? Casteor got Ninja Gaiden Sigma & Oblivion GOTY for $20. No Shit, $20. Can you believe it!!!!!
