Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I've found that the newer the store, the bigger the clearance selection. Once that store has a handle on how much inventory they move they adjust their quantities accordingly. Also the locals catch on quick to how Target clearances items since it is so systematic.

My local store had clearance shelves like the one pictured the first year it opened, but lately I'm lucky if they have enough copies of a game to make it to 50% off.

Picked up a copy of Demon Souls today just to make sure I didn't miss out on it. Figure there should be another drop soon so hopefully I can get it for cheaper than the $41.xx. There were still a few copies left here in Pittsburgh.
fuck man, none of the ones in LA are anything like that. Anyone seen GTA Chinatown Wars DS, Dead Space PS3, or Demon's Souls on clearance at any LA/SoCal locations???

Dead Space has been gone since the summer.

My Target never had Demon's Souls to begin with. Still hasn't even put out Fallout 3 GOTY.

Dead Space PS3 was around until the Christmas season at one Target I visit.

Also, someone must have found a couple copies of SFIV :pc: at the Target I went to tonight because two copies of it showed up at 30% off today sometime.
I found a few copy in SoCal right before Christmas and snagged one to replace my HWV case-less version. The Kearny Mesa area one. Haven't been there since though.

The closest store to me has 2 overflowing clearance racks like that, and it's awful-- about 95% DS shovelware which takes FOREVER to dig through since the 1-2 interesting games are in between a million Fashion Designers...

You might be on to something, my Target is fairly old and I have never seen a clearance end cap like the one in the picture. But a newer Target nearby consistently has better games at clearance prices and although not like the one in the picture, their end cap is always full of games.:D

Not that there are many Idaho CAG's but i stopped by the chinden and eagle target today. tons of those modern warfare at $59.98. i was only kinda thinking about picking up liberty city stories for psp @ 13.98 and Force unleashed also @ 13.98 nothing else really caught my eye.

Bought yesterday:

:ps3: Guitar Hero: Metallica - $19.98
:ps3: Skate 2 - $19.98 *
:ps3: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - $9.98

Bought today:
:360: Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Hardened Edition) - $55.98 **

Also spotted in central Ohio:
:ps3: LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures - $9.98
:360: LEGO Rock Band - $41.98

There were titles on other systems that I didn't pay too much attention to (including PS2, DS and Wii).

* returned for a refund today after reading online reviews
** placeholder for now; hoping for a price drop in the next two weeks, so that I can get a price adjustment

Thanks for the info. I usually go over to the Target in Nampa across the street from Bestbuy. Games there usually don't make it to 75%.

went to my local target in fayetteville, nc today...

..didn't really have anything of interest, did see the ps3 MW2 Hardened Editions for $56ish, saw dirt 2 advertised at 14.98 or so, it was of course, MIA...went in hopes of finding a cheap copy of BF:BC

My local Super Target Lees Summit (MO) have at least 15 copies for Resident Evil 5 for $28. It'll drop down next monday or tuesday next week $14. I will wait for new Edition with all the DL contents ;)

My Target gutted what was left of a clearence bin leaving an empty endcap and cardboard skeleton of shelving. I noticed a few were put behind the glass. It seems it hasnt recovered from Christmas.

There are so many clearance games around here it's insane. unfortunately, they're all at 30% off.

But there's so much stock that eventually most of them will hit 75%.

oh yeah, saw a ME2 collector's edition (reg price) but it was all dinged up from the alarm they put on it. Hey dumbasses, it's a collector's edition. Why would any collector want it all dented up?

I checked my other local Target today and they have even less than the other one in my area.

I also found a 500gb clearance HDD that some jagoff had stashed behind some routers and promptly put it up with the rest of the hard drives.:D

I'm headed towards Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg, PA tomorrow for an auction and I may take the 5 mile trek from the auction to hit up the Best Buy and Target in that area(plus the ancient looking Kmart I saw bout 3 years ago when I was with a friend who got huffy when I wanted to stop n look around).

Today I picked up PS3 Madden 09 for $7.48. Was followed by a security guard as i took a pile of games to the scanner. Nothing esle really good price wise same as every one is seeing on wii titles.

Actually wouldn't it be around $19.xx (50% off)? Right now it's at 30% off, which is why it's priced $27.xx.

Awww, you guys are making me homesick for my beloved home state. :(

Anyhoo, stopped by the Kelso, WA Target to see what was what. They had two Brain Age DSis, but they were ringing up full price still. Lego Rock Band for 360 was $35. A few more crap titles that I really didn't bother with, also.

Not much to be had in those stores, was in all 3 last week. The Target over there didn't even have a clearance section. Not much at K-mart either...small clearance section and nothing really in the case. Could have changed in the last few days but prepare to be dissapointed

Closest Target has 63 (I counted, for fun) Guitar Hero DS bundles (with the guitar attachment) for $29.98 ... I wonder how low they'll go.
The other interesting thing (maybe someone can explain): This store only had a handful of said product in the lock-up before this week. Do Targets ship clearance stuff to other locations for the purpose of selling off markdowns?

You and I have an entirely different idea of fun. ;)

im starting to think that target does because since christmas my clearance section has disappeared and reappeared and disapeared (with some new games everytime)....plus last week magically.....10 copies of dead space
appeared.....

as for the counting....to each his own :whee:

I went back and got Demon's Souls for $41.98 (Huntersville, NC). If I hate this game I'm making a blog post about to shout down each and every one of you.

Your store is probably just getting wiped out by people and then sometimes when shipments come a few random games can be mixed in or someone may have backstocked poorly and a stash was discovered, the only thing that gets shipped out from a store is salvage items (things that have been on final clearance and still havnt sold) or some charge back items.

It is the same thing with my Target. 50 copies of GodFather II appeared out of no where.
My local Super Target Lees Summit (MO) have at least 15 copies for Resident Evil 5 for $28. It'll drop down next monday or tuesday next week $14. I will wait for new Edition with all the DL contents ;)
Just curious, was that the PC, XBOX 360 or PS3 version of RE5?

That would've been nice for the old GS 20 credit sale a lil while back.

I noticed that TV stands are beginning to get clearanced out. I'm going to keep my eye on them, I could use one sturdier than the 25 dollar ikea one I'm using now.

lol I was about to say the same thing...since i'm sure we're taking about the same Target in Jersey

Not at the moment, unless theres any games under $15 for Xbox 360 or PS3.

Target gives price adjustments on clearence games?
Target gives price adjustments on clearence games?
They sometimes will let you do a return at the higher price and rebuy it at the lower price. Not always.

It also works like this:
1) Buy item X copy #1 at price Y.
2) Buy item X copy #2 at cheaper price Z.
3) Return item X copy #1 with receipt showing price Y.

My local target had 3 copies left (after i bought the 4th one) of Queen Singstar [PS3] for 19.98. Pembroke Pines, FL

Also had GH:Metallica for 27.98 I believe [PS3 and 360]
xbox 1600 point coupon came up expired today :(
What!? Are you fucking kidding me. I was gonna try it when RE 5 dropped to below $20.:cold:

:360: Tony Hawk Ride for 83.xx in Garner NC. Hasn't been marked down at any of the other Targets I've been to this week.

Even if this hella awesome hunka plastic hangs around 'til 75% it's still too rich for my blood.

Haha, if you really do hate hard games, then you might hate Demon's Soul. In my opinion, it is a hard game with lots of dying and trial and error. Then again, the last time I played the game was during Halloween when it was set in pure black world tendency (enemies are harder and you are weaker, but they drop better items).

Picked up a copy of the new PS3 Karaoke Revolution with microphone for $7.46. It was labeled "as-is" since there was a very minor tear in the outer plastic. GREAT DEAL.

Good find! Really wish I could find that in Northern VA. I found the PS2 version but I want the extra songs (I'm a big Queen fan) and camera support. Ironically, I used to live in the Pembroke Pines area.

Stay away from that Target! That's my territory

:)

What he said. Its supposed to be the hardest good game ever, like earlier iterations of Ninja Gaiden. Dying is a very active part of the game, and you need to understand that you will die, a lot.

Which is your territory? I'm near P.Pines as well, might just go by there today. Anyone seen Demon's Souls in south florida Targets?

I took a 4 mile trek from the auction I was at today(walking, no less) and I found the Hardened Edition of COD:MW2 for PS3 for $55.98 and a copy of Demon's Souls for $41.98.

I'm probably not going to keep them, since I'm still hoping to find a copy of MW2 from TJ MAXX/Marshall's, unless I can get them bumped to 50% off at the one Target that does that when you return clearance games.

What amazes me is that I live in a city of 76,000, yet a town of 7,500 has copies of both games and my city's Target never even had Demon's Souls.

They had alot of other clearance games in this same store as well, including the 360 version of COD:MW2 Hardened Edition and some older games for the 360 on clearance(Darkness, The Club).

For those who might be in the area, this was the Mechanicsburg, PA Target on the Carlisle Pike and they still had 2-3 copies of each game I bought.

Went to Albany, CA (near Berkeley). Nothing really worthwhile on clearance (what they had is probably more expensive than what's on amazon...).

There are two copies of the Metroid Prime Collection left, albeit at full price...
