Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

PS3:
Hawx: $19.98
Killzone 2: $41.98

Xbox 360:
Tekken 6: $41.98 (came with slip cover)

Were also some BioShock 2 $ Collectors Edition (Both PS3 & Xbox 360) for $99.99 but had the security device on too tight, kinda messing up the boxes.

True, but at least I'm discussing Target shit.:D

Spotted GH: Van Halen for PS2 today at $19.98

Didn't pick it up seeing as I don't have a PS2.

None of the NE Ohio stores seems to have a GOTY copy of Gears 2. They only have the regular version.
I saw the PH version of L4D GotY at our local Target for $29.99. However, it rang up as $7.48 when I scanned it.
I checked the closest location to the office during lunch where I knew 2 copies had been sitting on the shelf for weeks above a $29.99 tag. All copies were gone. I punched the DPCI into a scanner and it rang up...$29.99. :/

I'll have to check some other locations. I already have the game (paid w/ GS credit, so the out-of-pocket expenses were less ;)), but am looking for another copy for friends/family. Really want to get a private 4vs4 going.

Technically, this is the Target Clearance Thread, not the Target Video Game Clearance Thread. So talking about ALL Target clearance should be ok within the thread.

As for the off topic stuff, I did start it when I told dabamus that I found the Sony HDMI/USB cable pack that's on clearance at Target for $8 about a year ago at Kmart, since they were asking if anyone had found them cheaper elsewhere.

 How did I know someone would point that out?:)

If I knew one of them would last to 75% or so off, I'd try and wait for one of the 500gb HDD's, since I have a piddily 80gb in my PC.

The HDD's have been 15% then 30% off so far. Too slow a discount path for me.
That Guitar Hero bundle for DS is Target exclusive or something? 207-02-0596

Why isn't it on Amazon?
Not sure why.

It's not exclusive since I saw it at TRU too for around $40.

Too slow for me too. Unfortunately, the clearance stuff just never reaches those insane $12.48 pricepoints around here, unless someone does like they've been trying to do and hide the shit.

Checked a couple of Nashville Targets tonight. Nothing new or great that I haven't already seen posts about. Only item of note was Fight Night Round 4 for $19.xx.

Just a few days to accumulate 10 pages of posts, yeesh. Updated. Can't wait for the Hardened Edition of Call of Duty IV to drop to 75%. A distinguished gentleman like myself only does a return and rebuy in a few rare instances, and that would one of those instances.

Beatles Rock Band Special Edition Bundle PS3 - $174.98
Advance Wars DS - $20.98
Lego Batman PS3 - $13.98
Lego Indiana Jones PS3 - $13.98
Scribblenauts Strategy Guide - $9.98
Jak & Daxter Lost Frontier (or w/e it's called) PS2 - $14.98

I picked up the last copy of each of the Lego games. For $28 total, I couldn't pass this up. The Indiana Jones wasn't the new one, it's the first one. I looked for Lego Star Wars PS3, but didn't see it. Lego Batman/Indiana Jones 360 & Wii are still $19.99.

Nothing of interest near Kearny, New Jersey. They only had like four things on Clearance and that was like 10% off...pretty useless

which target

I didn't see this in the OP, but is there anything that can be learned from items that are not on clearance yet? For example, if something is listed on here as being on clearance but I go to my Target and its still full price is it pretty much just random if it will be put on clearance? I've been around Target clearance for about the past year, and from time to time I see titles that are sitting behind the case and expect them to actually scan lower, but they are at full price. I get the standard answer from employees saying that it varies when and what gets marked down. I am hoping that someone has more concrete time lines to this.
Nothing of interest near Kearny, New Jersey. They only had like four things on Clearance and that was like 10% off...pretty useless
what the hell? There's a target in Kearny? Where exactly? The closest ones I can think of are either in Jersey City next to the Best Buy or in Clifton.

I found a Red Faction Guerilla for $9.98 last night at the new 192 target in 4 corners fl. It was marked $19.98 but rang up out of the system. I removed the sticker, took it up front, and the last known price was $10. Very nice.

Only thing else they had decently price was Godfather II 360 for $7.48. Not really interested in that but they had about 10 copies or so.

Went back to the way North Vegas Targets, only new drop was Lego Rock Band at one of the stores, they still had Beatles RB: Special Editions, Band Hero's and lots of DS games, but nothing really notable unless your looking for a 50% Beatles of Band Hero. I went ahead and picked up a Lego Rock Band at $24.98 because I have been wanting it anyway and that is a decent price. However, it's a shallow experience.

Good thing I have Monday off. It looks like I'll be doing some driving to Targets and Best Buys in the area.

Have people been finding the Demon Souls on endcaps or locked up in the glass cases?

OK, just visited my local target and this is what I found:

-A mountain of DS shovel ware.

iconpcwin.gif

-SFIV 9.xx
-Batman AA 34.xx (probably had around 20 copies)

iconps3.gif

-Hawx 27.xx
-Singstar Queen 19.xx (had like 10 copies)
-Lego Indiana Jones 13.xx

iconxbox360.gif

-Bionic Commando 14.xx

The one I picked up(and later returned) was in a weird setup for a Target store. They had one of those locking security cases on a self retracting drawstring mechanism that pulled the case back onto the shelf once you were done looking at it.

Behind that was a mini game case with 2-4 copies of each game directly behind the security case copy.

Grabbed Tony Hawk Motion for $3.74.

Does that motion sensor work with any other games?

Also, someone stashed a MW2 HE that I promptly bought and gave a virtual finger to the stasher.

A few of the Targets by me have gone with this in their video games section and have done away with the giant glass cases.

Perhaps this is so customers can "look" at the game without forcing a worker to open the case? Not sure why else the Targets would switch to these.

Saw a HP Netbook on clearance for $164.xx and a Acer Netbook for $132.xx. Also they had a crapload of RE5 :360: for $19.98. Hope to see them last untill the next drop.

Picked up Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles (207-02-0443) on the DS for $4.98 today.

Also saw GH5 (360) for $41.98

I think they finally salvaged High School Musical DS. The 10,000 copies my Target had have disappeared and I seriously doubt anyone bought them.

The one formerly outdated WalMart in my area went with this method of displaying the games too. They have all of the $29.99 and over games in those clear plastic security cases and the $19.99 and under ones in their own section on the other side of the aisle without them.

The only $20 games that're actually in the security cases are the popular titles(Bioshock, etc).

I think it's better that way so you can check out the game and know you're actually getting the game(since so many assclowns decide to slit the plastic and steal just the damn discs when games are left out)and you don't get one of those annoyed grunts from one of the workers for disturbing their social hour(or eight) by asking to see a game from the case.

Anyway, I stopped at my other local Target tonight after a Craigslist deal and I picked up one of the Acer H213H full HD LCD monitors to use my PS3 on for $160.

However, when I brought it up I noticed it was flopping around inside the box quite loosely, so I brought this up to the guy at the register.

He took it out and we inspected it. It was the right monitor, but had smudges on the screen and dust all over the case, so I asked for a discount since it was clearly a returned item.

He asked his one manager and they gave me the usual 10% shopworn discount. So I paid $150 and change and I was out the door. My games look fuckin' sweet on this HD display, everything's so sharp n crisp, not washed out n blurry like on my old SDtv.

Acer makes good monitors. I have owned two of the 19" Acers, one 16:10 and 1 5:4. My mom owns a H233H full HD one and it looks very nice.

The really cool part is it came with an HDMI cable right in the package(even though I have 2 of the Sony branded ones), so I didn't even have to crack one of those open to plug in my PS3 via 1080p.:D

Saw the same thing. Great news indeed that with so many copies, this will eventually go for $12.xx

I completely agree. I own two Acer X203H 20" widescreen lcd monitors. They are much, much better than the more expensive HP monitors I have at the office that have weird stains along the tops and sides--all of our HP monitors have this strange stain.

Samsungs are nice cheap ones too.

My Target has 10,001 copies ;) And no one's buying any at $4.98 either. It's actually quite sad to see soooooo many unloved video games languishing on the shelves

In Lubbock, TX , the Target on Marsha Sharpe has three copies of the XBox 360 Beatles: Rock Band Limited Edition Premium Bundle for $124.XX.

The one by me has tons of guitar hero for the DS. I remember getting into an argument with a fellow CAG when the game was first released that the game was way overpriced -- and it was.

I found the Guitar Hero Bundle for $21.24... It will NOT drop further!!! $xx.24 is the LOWEST it will go!

Personal Trainer: Walking is still $24.xx here, not seen it 12.xx anywhere yet.
