Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
First party Nintendo titles hold on to their value like grim death and rarely go on sale, let alone clearance. Considering that it's also a good game from a well known franchise, can use the balance board, is a Wii title (which is hands down the largest shelf space in video games at all of my local Targets) and likely still sells it's fairly surprising to see it hit ye olde cycle. *shrug*
That used to be true. I don't think I have paid more than $40 for a first party Nintendo Wii title in a year or two.

Yes. Absolutely. You need to get there right away on Monday though. Won't last long at that price!

I'm waiting for the BRB sets to drop from $125 to $62 at my closest Target. They have both last I checked, and another close Target still had one 360 version, but at $175.

I'm also waiting for Target to drop Batman: AA :pc: to $12.50 just to work on completing my hard copy collection of GFWL games.

If I buy it now at $124 would I be able to bring in the receipt on monday and ask for a price adjustment?
If I buy it now at $124 would I be able to bring in the receipt on monday and ask for a price adjustment?
No because it's not a sale price ... it's a clearance item. You can try to return it and rebuy the way a couple people do around here, but it's easier just to wait. The only way you can get a price adjustment on a clearance item is by knowing someone who works at Target, and even then you're putting them in a position to risk their job. This is the risk and reward of clearance items, you have to wait it out for the price you want and then have luck on your side to pick it up before someone else does ... if it was as easy as buying now and bringing it back when we all heard about a lower price, this thread would probably have 3xs as many posts as it currently does.

i got Mini Ninja's for 12.48 today. It said "item not found", so it may have been something a hoarder had stashed and forgot about. i tried to get the cashier to sell it to me for $5 even, but she wouldn't go for that low.
If I buy it now at $124 would I be able to bring in the receipt on monday and ask for a price adjustment?
Definitely. Just walk up in there on Monday, grab a cashier and say "I grabbed this shitz on Friday because I knew it'd be cheaper today. I wants my money back." And then they'll give it back to you. Probably with interest.

You're lucky she sold it to you at all when you pull the "name a price" game with cashiers ... technically they have the right not to sell it to you if it's out of the system. The safer (and perhaps wiser) thing to do is ask the cashier to scan the item and look up the last price that it sold for, as they can always do that and should then be willing to sell it to you. I suppose you can try throwing out a number, but I've never personally seen that work.

seriously...thats one of the funniest posts ive read in a good while.

Anyone in WA state seen the Beatles Rock Band sets for less than 124? The store in Lacey had some, but they are all gone. I figure they probably dropped to $62.48 and were gone before I got there....

Not a clearance deal and definitely YMMV, but I just picked up Battlefield: Bad Company 2 tonight at Target on PC. Obviously it's full price, but if anyone is dying to get a copy, the system won't block the sale. In my case it was just sitting out on the floor and I decided to see if it would go through ... and it did. Someday it may be on clearance ... but there's no Target Early Sale thread, so I figured I'd post here just in case you guys wanted to check while looking for clearance deals.

I think my Target is official done with great bargains. The clearance endcap seems to be filled with nothing but Wii shovelware, PS2 and portable games these days. The closest thing I found to a name title was Prototype at $27.98.

I didn't pick it up, but I found a lone copy of Ghostbusters Wii for $4.98 last night. It sells for $20 on Amazon. If I had a Wii, I would have picked it up.

EDIT - Damn! I just realized I could pick it up for an extra $4 or so flip to Amazon.

So, let's say I bought a clearance game awhile ago for $20.98, now it's up as $7.98.

How would I get the difference? Pretend I need to return and rebuy because I used the "wrong card?"

You would need to return it, hope that the Target drops the price to whatever the new clearance price is and then puts it out again, and that you're able to pick it up before someone else grabs it. The risk is that someone else grabs it, it doesn't get priced the way you think it will (see recent post from IATCG about Demons Souls) or you lose it entirely because Target throws it in the donation bin and sends it off to Goodwill or Salvation Army.

If you really want the item, then it's not advisable to try and get the lower price, unless you can find the same item at the lower price and then return the same item with the receipt from your previous purchase (assuming you may have opened the 1st game).

Dammit, when are my most Targets making Personal Trainer Walking $12.xx (Still $24.xx) and Sims 3 CE under $25 (Still $50) Dammit?
Lots of the bulk food products are 50% off. You can get a 55oz box of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes for $3.18. IN FOR 5!!!
I was looking at the Target bulk toilet paper the other day and had it scanned. It came up $13.58 for 36 rolls(.37 a roll), but if their no name tp is anything like the other store brands I've bought before I'd be better off going into hardware and buying a bulk pack of sandpaper to use as tp.

Just curious, but has anyone had kind've luck finding these games at Goodwill or Salvation Army stores? If so, how much do they sell them for. If there is a thread to this, please post it. I think I would have better luck there then my local Target store.

Anytime I see a Target item at goodwill, it is not cheaper than what it was at Target. However, it goes to a good cause.

I've seen new games at goodwill, but I'm not sure if they're from Target. (Although, they might be) They had a big crate of the High School Musical (w/ Dance Pad) PS2 games the other day for $9 a piece.

I also have seen product from Target at Goodwill. When I have seen this, the price actually goes up a bit from the lowest clearance price.

i think the pricing is up to the stores themselves, and i know i read a thread somewhere that they were not supposed to sell items for more than like 50% of the salvage sticker (which states the MSRP) on them (usually this is gone before it goes out on the floor), but the goodwill i go to with target stuff does not go by that.
most recently i saw wii sports resort w/ one motion plus controller for 34.99 (or it may have been 39.99 i can't remember)

Never seen a PS3 game at Goodwill. Probably they get snatched by the employees before it even hits the floor. I've seen a few 360 games and they usually go for like 30. Also saw an open MF2:360: for like $33 once.

So no matter where I go, I'm not going to find it or buy it at all.:bomb:

Front Royal,VA has Tekken 6 for $15 (about 5 or so), one MUA2 for $15, and two Rockband Beatles bundles for $62.50.

And no, I'm not going back so don't PM me please.

Sucks, I remember paying $60 for just the Rockband Beatles game without the plastic toys.

Second store that I've seen Dark Void on clearance too.

@ Peoria, IL Target

1 Copy of Advance Wars Days of Ruin for $7.48

at least 10 copies of Ghostbusters for PC for $9.98

WOW! Walked into a Target that I checked for games on Monday and had the RE5 and Bakugan drop to 75%. I remember thinking then that it was wierd that they had Beatles RB LE not even on any clearance at all. The shelf tag still said $249.99 and there were no red tags. I went in today to buy my son :br:Night at the Museum 2 and there was the Beatles RB bundles I saw on Monday marked at $62.48. I snapped the last one up. I am not even sure I'm going to play it/keep it, but I figured in 20 minutes or so, it would have been a moot point. Someone in front of me in line already had one checking out.

It pays to check Target more than once a week, I guess :)

I was at Target today and didn't see any drops on any games, but there were some major drops on seasonal items. I picked up a fireplace screen for $8 after taxes (75% off).

The thing is Sims 3 CE still has a shelf location right now, even though many store have NO copies anymore (Price still $49.99) the shelf spot for the CE is empty.

I would think once that shelf location is going away, it will be on Clearance.

Shocking a store near DC has that good a deal, but a city far away has worse deals.

GO Figure

Erm . . . Front Royal is 70 miles from DC, most of the length of Virginia away. I'd hardly call that "near DC" -- I definitely couldn't imagine anyone driving out that far just for the Target clearance!
I'll play a song for you this weekend on the $62.48 set I found this week. ;)
Good to see a fellow Sacramentan here. Which Target did you find that set? The Targets I check still had them at $17x.xx

Also does anyone have the DPCI for the Seagate external HDD?

Still, some of us have to drive 2+ hours to get to a major city like DC. 70 minutes is better than 2 hours by 50 minutes!

Many people work in DC probably live like half hour away from this Frony Royal place live in between.

I picked up 2 copies of Wii game party 2 for $3.74 each and Daisy Fuemtes Pilates for $4.98 Keeping 1 copy of gameparty and giving the other two to my mom.

Lol, there won't be any there since you posted this.

Spotted one each 360 and PS3 BRB LE bundles tonight at $62.xx

Planning on picking them up tomorrow if I can scrape together the money.

I also found recyclable mailing envelopes on clearance for $.48/each

Picked up two since they are perfect for two things I need to ship tomorrow. :)
