Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Seconded. I don't know what specific guitar this is but it was probably made in China/Korea/Mexico - where ever Fender makes their Squier and other cheap ass models. Its worth the money to just get a basic guitar model if you're serious about playing.
I've seen guitars from department stores that my family and friends have bought and they are always absolute crap. Most of the time I'm amazed if they even function properly as an instrument given the bottom of the barrel parts they use. The guitars usually don't hold up very long at all. It's been my experience that even the Squier guitars and basses are much better than the models you find in stores like Target, Walmart, etc.
yea i miss the good ol days of Target clearance....great games and trade fodder for under 10 dollars at points...now it literally is all overpriced shit
All of my Targets in the north metro Atlanta area have been dry as a bone since Christmas. I've been going through withdrawals. Had to pick up Bakugan :360: for 12.98 just because they haven't had anything for me in so long. Last year, it felt like I was scoring decent deals nearly every week between 5 different Targets.
Why is Episodes From Liberty City (xbox) still $39.90...SMH
:) That's what I want to know too. It went xx.90 about 2 weeks ago and it still has not dropped

Oddly, it's been xx.90 since it came out. Trust me, I'm waiting for it to drop too :D

yea I felt the same way, my wife and I used to frequent all of the target clearance sections on a regular basis and were even contemplating getting a "red card" linked to our debit account since we shopped at those stores soo much.... :sigh: not anymore haha

thank GOD for GameFly Sales :bouncy:

I, too, am suffering from withdrawal.

This thread was on page 2. 2!!!

If I see Pet Vet Doggie Princesez Rescue for anything less than $10, I might have to buy it, cook it up with some baking soda and cry myself to sleep.

Really? During spring break, I think it was xx.98...i think. I need to pay more attention to that.

Has anyone been able to confirm Bangai-o Spirits for the DS is actually on clearance? I've been checking regularly, and haven't seen it clearanced, and when I saw it at the beginning of this thread, I looked specifically for it today at a few different stores. At the ones that had it (three of them?), it rang up at $14.99 rather than the $7.48 on clearance.

Now, before you even say it, YES I KNOW that clearance at Target isn't universal, it's YMMV, etc. I get that. Still, with *none* of the stores around here clearancing it, I'm wondering if the report might be wrong.

League of Legends Collectors Edition (PC) - 4.98

Awesome deal, since it comes with a $10 card to use with the game.

Bought it.. hopefully it's fun.

Today I went down to Target. I was talking with someone who worked there and he went to my high school. He told me that Target has new policy on clearance items this is why you hardly see any of the deals you use to. The new policy hurts games/electronics the most. He works in the electronics section and noticed the suckage as well. He started asking questions back in March and was told that.

No. I was just at Target yesterday, and there were several games on clearance, and other electronics as well.
Has the limited edition beatle rockband set drop in price yet? Last I heard it was 125
Today I picked up the following:

:psp: motorstorm arctic edge $9.xx

I saw :ds: wireway $13.xx

DANG IT! Don't know why Bangai-O Spirits hasn't clearanced out around here, then. That's...just weird.

Those are some My-T-Fine prices on those PSP titles...you must have a good Target for clearance, then, because they're $20 around here, IIRC. Nowhere near $9.XX, anyway.

Thanks for letting me know about Bangai-O Spirits.

It's refreshing to see my Target isn't the only one with a clearance game drought. Sad though that it sounds like it won't be ending soon. I guess it could be worse, they could adopt Wal-mart's clearance pricing methods and just stick a clearance sticker on the item and never reduce the price (yeah I'm looking at you Hasbro Star Wars AT-ST's). I'll still take Target over wallyworld any day but I doubt I'll be motivated to visit as often as I had. Saves me money I guess...all the more because sometimes I didn't just buy clearance games when shopping. Targets loss.....

The endcap was crap when I checked tonight, bu the isle with the plat hits type games did have Sonic's Ultimate Sega Collection and Fable 2. Along with some other games.

Well, my guess is some of the reason not to clearance is there hasn't been a large number of crappy games. :)

Ive got 4 stores scouted out for the 500gb HD's that were at 48 and change and people are starting to buy them up at that price.

Think I just might suck it up and get the 2tb from frys for 129

As much as I hate buying something before it gets to 75% off, I am probably going to get one of those hard drives if they drop to $34.98 on Monday, I checked 3 stores, 2 were $48.98 and the other was sold out so they were probably 50% or 75% off at that store.
Seconded. I don't know what specific guitar this is but it was probably made in China/Korea/Mexico - where ever Fender makes their Squier and other cheap ass models. Its worth the money to just get a basic guitar model if you're serious about playing.
Mexican and Korean guitars are generally very good. Chinese guitars can be hit or miss, but plenty are great, like my Guild acoustic.

End of threadjack. As you were.

So I drove around and found another LOL Pack for $4.98 and picked it up for a friend.

Man, there are five targets where I'm at and only two outta five have clearance stuff.. the hoarders get to it real quick.

The other 3 stores had NOTHING but copies of World of Zoo (pc), Star Wars Republic Heroes (PC) and other useless junk.
anyone elses Targets change displays this week? they went from glass cases to wall shelf lock things?
Mine did, although I don;t know when. I was still able to find some clearance, although nothing worth noting.

Both Targets near Beaverton OR have switched to the new cases. Whatever clearance stuff was there is hit or miss now; the PSP accessories are there but game selection is weak. PSP stuff was still being set up; the guy let me check out the box of games but nothing on clearance beside Ben 10.
Bangai-O Spirits was on clearance at 1 of my local Targets late last year.

Today I picked up the following:

:psp: resistance retribution $9.xx
:psp: motorstorm arctic edge $9.xx

I saw :ds: wireway $13.xx
Nice get on those PSP titles. I have 6 Targets within a 15 mile radius and usually check them out on Saturdays. They had Beatles and VanHalen games for $24.99. My best find at Target was the GTA4 CE for $18. I waited too long for Beatles RB kit to drop. I passed on the last one when it was $49 and I'm still kicking myself.

I once saw 6-9 at $34, but only picked one thinking that they would at least have one that dropped to $17 the following week. Nope. All gone. What I wasn't thinking of at the time was that the case alone is worth $10-$15. I ended up picking up a 1.5 HDD for $89 at Frys this week.

I remember seeing 6-8 of those WD 500 gb HDs mistagged at $49.xx but scanning at $34.xx last Saturday. I passed hoping that some of these would make it to Monday and drop to that must buy price of $17.xx. I guessed wrong because when I went back on Monday morning. These HDs were all gone:cry:

I did manage to swing by another Target and saw Rogue Warrior for :360: and :ps3: tagged at $14.xx. I'm not even sure if this game, which is really horrible, is even worth to buy if it drops to $7.xx-haha.

 I need to find that ASAP. That's been one of the most pain in the arse parts of my Insomniac Collection to find at clearance!

I've been looking for those too (I don't a hard drive, really need one nowadays). No such luck. As for Rogue Warrior, I heard it was very bland, but had a great credit roll song. Youtube is a much better alternative though (unless you're an Achievement/Trophy whore, since the game is easy to get 100%).

You might e able to find it on clearance at TRU if you have one nearby. They were clearanced a little while ago, but you might get lucky.

I have a question... For everybody saying they've had clearance droughts, how many of you shop at the big Targets? The Greatland Target or whatever word they slap on it... I ask, because there is one of those about 45 minutes away, and every time I go, they have shit for clearance games. Usually like five or six Wii shovelware titles... But, the closer Target usually has some decent stuff, 360/PS3 wise. Maybe I get lucky, because our store is smaller and not many people are interested in scooping up a bunch of games...

Haven't seen anything good at my local targets in quite a while. It's not like I need any new games, but it's just nice to find them.

Has anyone had any luck at any specific Vancouver or North Portland targets that they'd care to share?

Well just went to Target and found squat for cleranced games. Did see that they finally converted game section from glass case to those plastic looking ones. Pretty ugly IMO.

My local Target has now completely done away with the clearance end cap. Games just have a clearance sticker on them in the glass case, or on the greatest hits rack.

I feel that Target crearance is no longer what it once was. I mean, we're having a ton of kickass games releasing already this year and the clearance options are abysmal... I still have hope that it'll come back,, but for now I think we're in a bit of a frozen period.

I think my last purchase was Dawn of War back in Nov... c'mon Target, you can do it! lol
I'm curious about Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for $15. I've seen a few post about it but is it really on clearance or what?!
It's 15$ at Sears on clearance.
It's 15$ at Sears on clearance.
And at Target as well. The copy at my Target has been there, not moving, and I'm hoping tomorrow it drops once more, and I'll definitely pick it up.

Yeah one of the Targets near me has a clearance rack, but they've moved the "clearance" games to the greatest hits section. Right now its a mess of PS2 shovelware.

Same here, and all I seen was MLB the show 08 for ps2 for 14.97. lol

I'll agree... clearance gaming isn't what it used to be, but I feel that Targets made a lot of adjustments in the past year to prevent games from ever going on clearance. (Yes, believe it or not, Target loses money when they have to clearance games -- what a shock it is that they would like to avoid that!) I feel like we've all become a little spoiled (myself included) with their generous clearance offerings in the past.

I think Target has gotten a little smarter and reserved about how they stock games. The reservation program has been used to great effect to gauge interest in a game... and new shipments for hot releases are also a lot more tepid. A year ago today, we had about 30-40 copies of NCAA Football 09 rotting in the backroom, and that wasn't including what was stuffed inside the game cases. Today, we have probably 6 copies between all the systems -- and they're all in the case.

I was looking for them there when they got clearanced, but none of the ones around here had them. Believe me: I checked. Thanks anyway!
