Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I noticed that Target had an HP all in one printer up for regular price for $89.00 they had just put it on clearance and they only marked it down $85.00 after the amazing 9.75% sales tax its almost no savings.

I was in the Kansas City, MO/KS area on Friday. Picked up Dark Void for 360 for $15 and GH: Van Halen for 360 for $15. 2 of the stores had switched over to the plastic cases attached to the display stands.

I hope my local one doesn't do that.

I did notice that all of those stores had Fable II PH for $29.99, last week my store had it for $13.98 on clearance from $19.99. I passed and hoped for $9.99 or less but they didn't make it. I also saw a few copies of Tetris for 30% off. I love Tetris, have it on my DS, PSP, and Wii. Would like to have it for $5 on my 360.
Seconded. I don't know what specific guitar this is but it was probably made in China/Korea/Mexico - where ever Fender makes their Squier and other cheap ass models. Its worth the money to just get a basic guitar model if you're serious about playing.
What wrong with a guitar that isn't made from USA or Canada? I've been using an acoustic I got for $99 4 years back and it's one of those cheap China guitar with an unknown brand. The guitar still play and hold tune very long. Granted it isn't a great sounding guitar but it serves it purpose. I'm sure this Fender will hold off better than my current one. And for your information Takamine is from Korea. Oh and if I can buy the whole bundle at $37.98 than it would be a great deal regardless. I've read some reviews of this and seems like a decent starter guitar. Sorry but I don't want to spend $300 just for something I enjoy very casually randomly.

When I used to work for Target in elecs. I would hide all the 15/30% off games all around the store till it went 75%, type in the dpci into the pdt after a few weeks to see what the price was then bring it out of hiding. I once got a $250 Sony cam for $69. It was actually ringing up 0.00, but had a team lead ring me up for the last price. I didn't even hide that, it was just sitting in one of the drawers at the elec. counter, guess no one noticed it there before.... score for me!

I stopped by yesterday. The clearance section is pretty much a dry spell right now. I saw Bakugan for PS2, some older Rockband guitar kits, some of those LCD photo frames, some cell phone chargers/ipod cases, Final Fantasy Core (GH) for PSP ($13.98), not much else. Didn't bother looking at prices.
I have a question... For everybody saying they've had clearance droughts, how many of you shop at the big Targets? The Greatland Target or whatever word they slap on it... I ask, because there is one of those about 45 minutes away, and every time I go, they have shit for clearance games. Usually like five or six Wii shovelware titles... But, the closer Target usually has some decent stuff, 360/PS3 wise. Maybe I get lucky, because our store is smaller and not many people are interested in scooping up a bunch of games...
the Target I go to is right next to the woods.

Oh no, here we go again .

I stopped by the one Target down the road from me tonight and I asked about the display model Acer H213H that's on clearance for $111.98. They had the manager come back to electronics and besides the current 30% off price, he said he could give me another 20% off of that($20-24)and that that would be as low as he could go.

Unfortunately, I had a much lower price in mind($60-ish)and I thanked him profusely for his time but declined the offer in the end.

I may try the other Target sometime this week, assuming they bump the clearance percentage closer to 50% off. Now if they add 20% off on top of THAT, I might consider it. But $90 for a display model monitor with none of the packaging or wires it comes with is NOT a cheapass deal for me. Not to mention that it's probably been on for 12-18 hours a day for how many months now.

But if any of you want to try for the display model of whatever on clearance, it never hurts to try and ask for a bit more off, as I found out today.

You'll be making your exit from this thread shortly...

LOL @ people acting like employees shouldn't hide shit and it's such a moral f'n sin if they do. Why do ya think we rarely see clearance tv's for very long at Kmart and other stores?

The best story I've ever heard though was of the employees at one of my local Targets finding a full sized room rug someone stashed behind the chips in the snack food aisle. It wasn't even on clearance, but someone tried stashing it there.
500 GB HDs still $48 at one of the nearby Targets -_- Columbia, SC.
The ones stuck at my local Target are still at 59.xx One of them has already been bought, hopefully the other will stay until a price drop comes into effect
Two of the 500 gb HDD's aren't even marked clearance at one of my local stores, so here's hoping they make it to 75% off as I might grab one at that point.
And me the other one.
And me the other one.
After having issues sending an HD-DVD drive from Kmart a couple of years ago, I steer clear of shipping any type of hardware and after having a game get stalled in a post office being sorted, resorted and re-resorted I only use Priority anymore for games.

Meh, I tried. ;)

You can keep trying all you want, but I also know that the local Targets will never hit the magical 75% off mark, since people around here think 30-50% is super cheap. That coupled with how fuckin' slow they drop shit around here means none of the stuff I saw yesterday will still be there at 75% off.

I was shocked to still see PC versions of Star Wars Clone Wars Republic Heroes at $7.48 a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah man, nothing wrong with being an f'ing thief. Until one steals something from you that is. And yes, hiding merchandise until it is priced lower _is_ stealing from the store, if you cannot see why that is, you're too dumb to argue with.

I wish this thread had a special mod because all it takes is one jackhole advocating hiding/hoarding/stealing/fraud returns/etc. and then shit gets derailed.

I worked the morning shift in the back today so I can't tell you what I pulled for clearance electronic-wise.

Happy hunting tomorrow I guess.

I admit it's wrong, but if someone does it(and I don't find the item they stashed and bring it to the attention of the employees), then so what. I don't really care one way or the other, so why should you?

You're just pissed that you don't get a 'fair shot' at some of these items due to the potential stashing of them. Oh well, it happens. I'm not gonna lose sleep over some employee claiming to hide stuff for their own benefit.

People from Kmart told me they got X or Y HDtv for 90% off before and openly bragged about it being in the back. I didn't care because I didn't want and didn't need it. Think of it that way, they saved you money.

But if you've ever done a return/rebuy cycle to get clearance games cheaper month by month, you're just as guilty as employees/customers stashing shit. Someone else probably would've been happy with those games at 10% off MSRP, but you had to wait for 90%. So pot meet kettle.

I never said it wasn't wrong, but why resort to a personal attack? I suppose you've never done a return/rebuy on games you wanted to get cheaper? If you have, then you took a game from someone who might've been happy with 10-20% off the MSRP and held onto it till it was at the price you wanted to get it at.

Same difference as stashing stuff. So pot meet kettle.

Disagree....hiding crap is dishonest and employee fraud, in the other case returning/rebuying is using store policy to a CAG's benefit. That said, I don't ever do the return rebuy and I buy a TON of crap from Target on clearance. If I return, I wait for it to cycle back into clearance and see if I can snag it again. Most of the time, I can't.

Question is, do you think he would've gotten fired if the manager found out what he was doing? If the answer is yes, then it's dishonest and fraud.

i can attest to this. Holding Clearance merchandise in any way is strictly against Target policy.

As far as I know, Target doesn't let you return/rebuy at a lower price right away. You can return, wait to see if they mark what you returned down, wait for it to be put back on the shelf, and then rebuy, but who has the time for that?

Depends on the store and person working customer service. Most Targets, I'd say no, it won't work. But I used to do it at one particular Target after I saw some other guy pull it off successfully. I only tried it a couple times, but it worked each time.

Found some Cheap Flash Drives (for those of you interested in trying the USB Flash option for the 360).
Only one store of 5 had the these prices though.
4gb for 5.98
8gb for 9.98.

Nothing game wise today, but check out the other electronic sections today.

Alot of headphones and earbuds went to 75% off and some MP3 players as well.

4GB and 8GB thumbdrives went to 75% off...$6 and $10 respectively. Great for the new 360 update!

Printers and printer paper 75% off.

Under-cabinet radios and tv/dvd combos went to 50% off...final markdown too as they are on the 15-30-50% off schedule.

Nav systems 50% off...final markdown also.

All Harmony remotes down to 75% off and also that Phillips RF extender.

I think some digital picture frames were down too but I really didn't look to hard at those.

There didn't seem to be any drops at all when I went at lunch today. I guess I'll try to stop by after work and see if anything has changed by then.

I never manage to get any of these deals at my local store so I was completely shocked when I walked in today and found that they have the 500GB WD drives for $17.98. I grabbed two of them. :bouncy:
I don't see a speed rating on the box but I am assuming they're 7200RPM correct?

I also saw several copies of Fable II for $9.98. I grabbed the PH edition two weeks ago for $13.98 so I didn't need the regular edition. I am curious if I can take back my PH copy and re-buy it to get the difference.

I think they have the same UPC so you could buy the $10 one and return it with the $14 receipt...just keep the $10 receipt in case they aren't the same.

PH and Non-PH edition of Fable II are under the same DPCI code at Target.

You can buy the 9.98 non-PH copy and return it later on with your 13.98 receipt, pending you still have it.

nothing of interest at my target
but did see a band hero bundle marked at $125 (15% off)

for the people that got band hero for $25 a while back....how long did it take to drop?

seems like target isn't constant in there markdown each consecutive week...so might have to wait a long time to pick it up.

Is it a harddive for the PS3?

Thanks. I still have it. My PH copy is still sealed so I was thinking the easiest thing to do would be to just walk up to customer service and ask if I can return then re-buy it.
I guess I can do what you recommended too.
