Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Btw, I can't wait to see Chicharito play in the EPL. El Chicharito, Vela and Giovanni would be a great attack in a 4-3-3. If only Vela and Giovanni had more playing time...:whistle2:(
Referring to the EPL...

Vela is good, but probably wont get much playing time even next season. Hes too similar to Eduardo...and he cant even get into the Arsenal team at the moment. One of them will be sold at some point in the near future I feel. I really hope vela makes it as he is quality. I remember hearing when he was on loan at Osasuna and they played Real Madrid, that he was running circles around the Madrid players...time will tell if he makes it...

As for Giovanni at Spurs, I dont think hell get in the team as Redknapp clearly doesnt fancy him. Hell be shipped out as soon as possible, but no big loss to him, as he should be playing for a better team than the fucking spuds...

haha sorry to go off topic...my Gooner side took over...

Hey now, I may love Barcelona but in England...it's all about the Spurs :D Yeah, I am afraid that Vela will have a hard time getting into the 1st team. Gio being on loan at Galatasaray will only help him in the short run. There has been too much competition in the 2 clubs Gio has been involved in.

Sorry for bringing football into the Target clearance thread  I couldn't help myself either :)

Lots of food on clearance if you live in an area with a Super Target. Check your Frozen Food section too, we had about 11 carts of frozen dinners go on clearance.

I was able to grab two packs of acoustic guitar strings (the ones in the round tin) for $1.74 each and the Red guitar strap for $3.74 (but the the strap in black was still $15). The electric guitar strings were also $1.74

Before anyone comments on the quality of the guitar strings, please note that "I don't know enough to know that I should know better than to buy $1.74 guitar strings from Target" which makes them perfect for me.;) They go great with the $38 guitar which I don't know how to play.

:bomb:...and the reason I'm talking about that instead of video games is because VG clearance really stunk this week. Like others said GH5 dropped and sold out everywhere (at least I got my copy last week). Beatles RB was nowhere to be found. Hopefully CAGs were able to get a copy instead of the hoarders.

The only new drop was Bayonetta
iconps3.gif
starting its clearance cycle at $41.xx and a game that has had a NCF tag since December was pulled from the shelves (and NEVER went on clearance at any store).:bomb:

Thanks but I'll pass.

Man all this talk about soccer is making my spine tingle. :p Anyways, I haven't been able to find any of these clearance games at any of my local Targets. They have the games, they just aren't on clearance. For example, Tekken 6 is still full price and when I get them to price check it, the price is still the same.
theory # 2 - they are actually losing money on video games (enough that its hurting there bottom line), and want to start to slowing sell there games (like best buy)
Actually video games account for highest sale volume per square foot at target (according to the employee monthly magazine) fun fact for ya =]

In part thanks for CAG.

I just picked up the Bioshock 2: Collectors Edition for PC at my local target for $50.
I also got The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for $17.99, Entirely random finds but so worth it for the Bioshock 2
The point of the post was that there are TWO different clearance schedules they can follow IF they even go on clearance. Target clearance is YMMV. You can go to 3 different Targets and those earbuds will be $100 at one store, $50 at another, and $25 at the last. 99 times out of 100 if something starts on the 15%/30%/50% schedule, it's not going to hit 75% off, it's going to salvage.

If you're not sure about an item dropping an further just buy it at 50% off and throw it in the closet...wait to see what happens in the next few weeks. If it drops again, you can return the first...if it doesn't, you can at least keep the half off one if you want it at that price level.
Couldn't disagree more with that first paragraph. I have seen literally hundreds of items very naturally go to 75% after being at 50%. I've bought plenty of stuff from nearly every major department at plenty of Targets that's gone 75% as a logical next step in the clearance reduction schedule. While it may be that way in your area, it most certainly is NOT that way here in Colorado.

Yes, 75% is the next logical step from 50%, but the topic being debated is whether or not an item will reach 75% if it started at 15%, rather than starting at 30%. Most stuff like video games follow the 30/50/75 patern, yes, this is not in debate. Some of the higher end electronics follows a 15/30/50 patern, and it seems that stuff will usually NOT reach 75%. Unless you're saying you've seen stuff like GPS units, that started at 15% off, actually reach the 75% level.

I found Red Faction Guerilla for 13.98 at the Target in Middle River Maryland yesterday. Still four left when I was there.

Co-sign on this....Houston Tx Target....Gessner and I10...ps3 version though, had about 7 or 8 of em.
Question: when does the musical instrument stuff usually drop? Same day as electronics?
Yes. At least it seems to drop on that schedule around me.

Managed to snatch up Fable 2 Platinum Hits edition (contains all DLC) for $15. All the rest were original copies. Yay me!

Beatles Rockband for 360 was priced at $20 but scans up for $10 (game only) at Target Rego Park NYC, they had a couple copies left grabbed one for myself.

Sure, I've seen GPS units, to use your example, hit 75% off. In fact, I've got a TomTom unit that I got for 45 bucks a couple months back when it hit 75% off. I believe, but am not sure, that it started at 15% off.
Question: when does the musical instrument stuff usually drop? Same day as electronics?
Musical instruments are grouped as Electronics in the stockroom so they should drop with the video games, stereos, TVs, etc.

I also find it funny how some stuff is classified to be locked up (10 dollar headphones vs. a 120 dollar bedsheet)

This is because a pair of headphones could easily be slipped into your pocket. On the other hand, no one's gonna pop some bed sheets under their shirt lmao

Yeah I've seen a lot of trading cards in the bathroom. Weirdest thing I've seen stolen were condoms, but those can reach the 10 dollar range for the premium ones.

Went back to the American Fork, UT Target today to pick up one more 4GB Transcend USB drive. They had a ton Wednesday night. Today they were cleaned out. I'm guessing someone came and snagged all of them. Too bad, I got one for my 360 but wanted another to carry around. Anyone seeing the 4GB, 8GB or 16GB drives at 75% at their store?
This is because a pair of headphones could easily be slipped into your pocket. On the other hand, no one's gonna pop some bed sheets under their shirt lmao
I have to disagree. I've seen people do more for less.

Once I was with a couple of my friends and one guy stole from 3 separate stores in the same day (without being caught none the less). In each store he stole an article of clothing. First it was a shirt, then at a skateboarding store he put this hoody under his shirt and walked right out. Then we went to Abercrombie and Fitch and he stole another hoody plus a bottle of cologne. I kept thinking "What the hell is up with this kid"?

Picked up the only copy of Beatles: Rock band :360: for $9.98. The Targets near me have literally zero to three games on the clearance rack; I don't know if there just not putting shit up or if someone is snagging all of it asap.

Thank you CAG. Because of this site, I was able to pick up Fable II PH for 7.48. I feel pretty fortunate, because the Target at which I found it finally did their games update and it was missing from the old spot. I found ONE copy in a Target cart that looked to be just random stuff. It was still marked at 14.98, but I didn't want to chance it. Took it to the register and noticed my total was lower than expected. Receipt said 7.48! :D

Also got :ps3: RF: Guerilla for 13.98

RULE # 348573 - even tho its on clearance, always scan the item, sometimes they dont even change the sticker price, then again, the feeling at the register of paying less than you previously thought is priceless

I LOVE getting games for under $10 when the price tag shows full retail. The employees just look so stunned and wonder how you knew the game was clearanced and they had no idea.

Picked up

Motorstorm (psp) $9.98
Jak and Dexter (psp) $9.98

Saw:

Fina Fantasy Dissidia $19.98
Gran Turismo (psp) $20.98
Resistance Retribution (psp) $19.98

Will wait for the these three to hopefully drop on Monday.

That's how I got the two 21.5" Acer LCDs that I am using on my desktop right now. They were display models that were never marked as clearance, but were clearanced down to $40. I discovered that and bought them ASAP! :D

Wilsonville, OR -

Got Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction for 14.98, was marked 20.98. 2 days in a row getting stuff cheaper than I expected! Website shows it not in stores, so I am assuming this was a rare find.
Also had 2x Fable II PH 14.98/20.98
and :psp: Final Fantasy 10.48

On a side note, one of the better organized clearance sections I've seen; and the last Target around that hasn't switched over to the new racks yet.

Finally, I'm a believer....I got
iconps3.gif
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for $14.99.
For a long time, I thought that this deal was a BS story because I have scanned this game at 6 or more targets and it always came up as $59.99.
I so glad I kept scanning NGS2s.

picked up Beatles Rockband 9.98 xbox360
Fable II platinum edition xbox360 4.98
Kingdom Hearts 2 ps2 7.48
sonic ultimate genesis collection xbox360 4.98
trivial pursuit ps2 4.98
and god of war 2 ps2 game for 4.98 (Monroe, LA)

I also found at a target a PS3 Guitar hero 5 game and guitar controller mismarked (in clearance section, it was ringing up 89.99 but since it was marked cheaper they gave it to me!) for $19.99! (Bossier City, LA)

I haven't had luck like you all and my local target used to have great deals for clearance games (as posted on here) but it's been months and they haven't really marked anything down. fable 2 ph is $13.98 but I already beat the game and am waiting for it to drop to $7.48 as someone stated they got it for that price. left 4 dead is still $19.99, ninja gaiden sigma 2 is still regular price too. how often do they update the prices?

My Targets have had an ASSTON of stuff on clearance, including blank BD-R single-layer (25gb) discs for $3.74, a bunch of laptop and ipod accessories, and a bread maker (for Mom). Also 2 or 3 small LCD tvs. Not much videogame-wise though, but I'm not complaining. Oh, and there's still a bunch of ds, psp, and ps3 accessories still hanging around from 2 weeks ago.

Got Beatles Rock Band for $10, first clearance game ive seen at target in months, there was only one copy of it. Strange the targets around me used to always have lots of clearance games, not so much anymore

I've been very disappointed with the Northern Virginia Target clearance sections. Most of them have moved to prison systems, and maybe I'll see one 360 or PS3 game. Endcaps are filled with PS2 stuff...
what can we found for tomorrow? Any new games? I don't see new drops the last week.....
we won't know until tomorrow. we don't get heads up on target deals, generally.
every since they have moved to the new setup i have not found one game yet for 360 or ps3
Agreed. Have yet to find anything noteworthy after their switch over.
