Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Went to a Target today in Houston and it had the games in the plastic boxes now. The isles were divided into the 3 major systems. It also had a touch screen that allowed you to search for games, it's descriptions, similar games, and upcoming games. My wife put in Red Dead Redemption since that is all I have been playing and looked up similar games...it came up with Toy Story 3...lmao.
thank you very much for that response! how do they fare as just regular headphones without the noise cancelling function?
They are okay as regular earbuds, nothing spectacular as I recall. If I recall correctly, they have that off-center set up for the earbud wires, where one is longer than the other. That's something that I have never really liked but that's my personal preference.
I've never understood how people can stomach paying more than $5 for a pair of headphones. They all do the same fuckin' thing.
I'd agree with you most times... this isn't one. While I won't advocate buying expensive as hell headphones, the very cheap ones have bad sound levels and often die out quickly.
Easier way to reduce the outside noise with the headphones: BLAST THE MUSIC!

I've never understood how people can stomach paying more than $5 for a pair of headphones. They all do the same fuckin' thing.

But to each their own. If you think you hear a difference and wanna pay out the wazoo for them, more power to ya and thanks for supporting our economy.
Actually, if you have a set that has decent noise-cancelling it makes it easier to hear the music clearly. When I'm mowing the lawn on the lawn tractor, the noise when the blades are engaged is so loud that cranking the music up is like having someone shouting in your ear to be heard over the noise from a jet engine. With noise cancelling, the tractor noise drops way down so that it is almost gone (I'd say about 80 - 85% gone) and so you don't have to crank the music up to 11 or whatever. Easier to hear the music cuz there is less background noise to compete with it. Probably is better for your ears as well.

I've used the RCA noise-cancelling set that I bought at Target years ago for $5 and it works great on a plane when I want to watch a movie on my laptop. One click of the button and the constant roar of the jet engines is gone and I can hear people's conversations around me (at least until I etiher play music or watch a movie).

However, the Sony's were not very effective so all these benefits of noise-cancelling were not evident when I used them.
I am fairly certain that $19.99 is a universal price drop for Lego Indiana Jones 2. It is this price at all Best Buys now.
I was at Fry's today and I saw LIJ2 for 19.99 as well.

The one thing with the Sony headphones is you have to make sure they're fit right and in all the way (which is why they have the different sized earplug adapters). I thought they were horrible until I realized they weren't fit into my ear quite right and they're a lot better.

Not worth $100 but very good for $25 IMO..

best deal i've found in a while: a stack of Dissidia all priced at $7.48

got one for a friend's bday who wanted it since I got my fill of it and don't care for it after playing it enogh.

I saw the Band Hero set on clearance for ~$45. Does anyone know if this game works with the Rock Band instruments? My family wants to get the game but I am not sure if I really want another set of instruments.

I bought it when I saw it for $22.54, and only because I found a compatibility chart that said it worked on Rock Band. I believe the same worked in reverse.

When mowing the lawn on my tractor, I have a set of craftsman hearing protection "headset" on and my earbuds (nike something from Target clearance) on under neath. I barely have to turn the volume on to hear the blades.

For how often I actually want to listen to music privately via headphones(last time was sometime in 2006 or so), I can't even justify the $5 cheapo ones anymore.

The last time I listened to any music besides the car radio I played it either over my PC speakers or my radio speakers.

Depends which console you have. It will work on the Xbox but not on the Wii. That's what a GS employee told me and a BB employee confirmed. Hope that helps.

Not sure if posted before, but I saw 4 copies of Bioshock 2 CE for Windows/PC clearancing out at $39.99. I think original price was like $89.99. It comes complete with art book and other stuff. Too bad it wasn't for console units.

Guitar Hero/Band Hero instruments on Wii work for everything except Rock Band 1. You're good to go on Rock Band 2, The Beatles, etc.

Really!? I didn't think Target even carried the CE for Bioshock 2. Man. I'm glad I didn't run across that. I might not be able to pass it up, lol.

Yes, they do. Some stores still have them in stock, both PS3 and 360 versions.

After seeing a Specialist in Dallas for my newborn son, we decided to make the most of it by hitting a target close by. Low and behold I find a PH Fable 2 in the plastic prisons with a price tag under it for some scene it game. Had a rep scan it while they said that it was 39.99 and it scans at 7.48! I can't believe I found one! Been looking for ever for it at a decent price and figured they were all gone! Thank you everyone!

What location would that be if u don't mind?
i picked up the Sony MDR-NC22 headphones at my local target for 25 bucks, it finally dropped, but im conflicted on whether to keep them or not. I dont think I need the noise cancelling function very much, Im trying to find out online if they are decent headphones worth having or not, anybody here have an experience with them? Im keeping them still sealed for now...
I'll add my counterpoint: I think they're great. I would never, *ever* say that they're worth anywhere *close* to their initial $99.99 price point, but for $24.99, I've been very pleased. They allow me to work out at the gym on the cardio machines with a reduced volume on my PSP, and they do kill a good deal of the ambient outside noise.

And in contrast to what some others are saying, there is a quantum difference between cheap, crappy headphones, and ones that are made with quality. I'm certainly not an audiophile, but I can discern between crap and quality. Sometimes you do get what you pay for. To me, this would be a case wherein the old Clorets slogan applies: "Costs a little more, but it's worth it." I'd say the key word there is "little", too, but they've been well worth my $26, after tax.

I think my local Target has changed up the way they clearance games. I saw Gears of War 2 GotY edition marked at $7.48 with a standard yellow price label in front of the game. No red clearance tags at all. Same thing with GH: Van Halen at $14.98. The only difference is the yellow label in front said "NCF Xbox 360" instead of just the normal "Xbox 360".

Are some of you finding that since moving to the "plastic prisons" that the clearance section is nearly empty.

I'm going to head to one of the stores here tonight as I've been waiting for Beatles: Rock Band and Motorstorm: Arctic Edge to drop for a while and they're both locked up there. I'll have to annoy an employee to check the prices for them, and I know that the drops are YMMV, but it just seems too odd that there is only one game in the clearance section since they went to the new setup. (Oh, and Beatles: Rock Band was on clearance there before they changed the layout...)

I've been to four stores that have the new layout. With the exception of the one that just changed a week ago, none of them have any clearance at all in the electronics department. They all had decent clearance in the past. Could just be coincidence, but I'm still concerned.

I've only been to one Target with the plastic prisons (our local Target is switching soon) but the one that had the plastic prison had tons more clearance than I usually see... Mainly, about 25 copies of Red Faction: Guerrilla PS3 for $9.xx. Some crap PS2 games and PSP games as well, but there were about three endcaps worth of stuff.

Rancho Cordova, CA store is terrible. Two clearance games - :psp: FF Dissidia 20.98 and :ps3: RF: Guerilla, both in the normal racks. There was no endcap marked clearance at all o_O

A worker told me that because they just switched to the new layout, they are looking over their inventory and as such they do not yet know what to put on clearance. He said the clearance will be back eventually though.

I've been to four in the SW Florida area as well with the new layout and no games on clearance. :bomb:

Heads up for those near the Parma, OH store. Yesterday I returned a Band Hero :360: set. Maybe they'll put it out again today. Other than that, it's been a long time since any deals.

NCF means Non-Carry-Forward, which means it wont get restocked anymore after they run out.

My Targets have both switched to the new shelves, and one had a ton of clearance stuff on an endcap, but no games to speak of. A bunch of headphones and various cables and stuff. The other store had the same thing, but alot less.

:bouncy: I was just about to post and ask about the rearrangement of the gaming section. It worried me because game clearance has all but disappeared in both of my Target stores . I thought they were on to us and "fixing" the "problem"! Here is hoping things go back to the way they were.:applause:

I wouldn't be surprised because those end caps kinda looked shoddy.

I know this was already responded to -- but I noticed after we set up the new layout, a LOT of the new label strips were just riddled with these NCF games with listed clearance prices. Two possibilities are at play here: 1) Target just didn't have enough games to fill up their store's new shelves, so they put these NCF labels as placeholders for when they are filled with new games... or 2) I have seen "discontinued, NCF" games come back from the dead and "reactivate" themselves putting them back at regular price. Hell, a clearance camera we had sold a long time ago recently got returned, and just as we were about to defect it out we noticed it was once again "Active".

My guess is that with the expanded space, we will have less of a reason to clearance games simply because there is much more space for our games. Sometimes a game goes clearance because no one is buying it and a store will have 20 copies still in stock. Other reasons are that it got pushed off the planogram and thusly shoved into the backroom.

Now, there's plenty of room for those games that would normally get pushed off the planogram and promptly clearanced at certain Targets. This never happened at the one I work at, but I noticed while following this thread in the past that when this happened to a game at my Target, it came up here as newly clearanced.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking once I noticed how many empty slots were in the new display setup.

Since game releases tend to slow down during summer, we probably won't see too many games getting pushed out to clearance for a while.

I stopped by my local target yesterday. normally they have a good selection of games. yesterday was slim pickings, but they just did the new game layout this past week.

I did score a beatles rockband (360) game only for 5.04. my big pick up was an off brand gamecube wireless controller for 3.74. receipt reads it as a NCF brand. since my cube is still in rather heavy rotation I jumped at the chance to snag another wireless controller. just in case the day comes where the wavebird stops working.

going to check a couple of locations in savannah,ga today. they recently converted the layout as well. hoping some cool old stuff was found. happy hunting.
Picked up the last copy of Motorstorm: Arctic Storm for PS2 for $7.48.

No more PS2 games!
At which store? There's a ton of clearance games in the budget game aisle of the Norman Super Target.

NCF isn't a brand, it's "Non carry forward" (or something like that), i.e., "Clearance item"...

My Target had the plastic shit display installed overnight. I was checking out the empty slots and they had the prices for a bunch of old games like MK vs DC for $7.48 and a few others. I asked the guy if they had anymore but said it was't even in their inventory anymore. What gives? Did the plastic shit display come with stock prices? Has anyone else seen this happen?

I kind of miss going hunting for clearance games at Target. There isn't much to be found at the Targets in my area so I only go when we need TP or other essentials. I've only bought 2 clearance games since Christmas.

Stopped by a Target in Fullerton on Saturday. Only clearance game I saw was 20+ copies of :psp: Dissidia Final Fantasy for $20.xx

All the stores near me have finally switched over. Clearance games have all but disappeared.

The new system is horrible for browsing. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't scan across the titles any more. The format breaks up the games too much. Makes me much less motivated to shop their games department, which I used to enjoy very much.
