Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Was at the Reston/Herndon, VA store today; could not even FIND a clearance end cap for games there. Didn't see any good deals in the 360 section either. Beatles RB was $29.99.

Yeah, I was looking there for an electronics and/or media clearance end cap on Saturday, same thing -- I checked all of the places where I've seen one in the past, as well as places where I've seen them at other stores, no luck. While games clearance does seem to be a bit sparse everywhere at the moment, so it's conceivable they could just not have anything, it's hard to believe they don't have any electronics at all on clearance right now.
Is Metroid still $34 bucks?
Was here. But I grabbed it anyway today, because it was the last copy and obviously wasn't going to make it through another drop.
Picked up Brutal Legend for $4.98. The game was still in the plastic prisons.
damn, good score! now if only you have a penny guide to go with it, you're set!! Just wondering, was it labeled as clearance properly in the plastic prison, or did you just go ahead and assume it and have it scanned?
360 Spongebob Truth or Square $9.98
This, they also had some Karaoke game for $19.99 (50%). Brutal Legend was still unclearanced.

Got Brutal Legend (360) today for $4.97. Should be fun for $5 !

add: It was in the plastic prison and was labeled as $4.97 (4.98?) Last one there too

I also saw Brutal Legends (360) for $4.98 but wanted to get an opinion on it before I picked it up. Anyone reccomend it? (It was still in its plastic prison)
Also saw Alone in the Dark (360) for $13.98. Whats the word on this one?
You're in the Movies was still labeled at $13.98. Was thinking about getting it for the Live cam but figure I'll be picking up Kinect when it comes out so it doesn't make sense to have another camera accessorie.
And lastly I saw Mdagascar Kart for the Wii. Can't remember the price though.

i saw alone in the dark for $13.98
spongebob for 9.98
fallout tactics didn't see the price
some wii shovel ware
and super mario tenis for the wii, didn't get the price

i went for brutal legend and it wasn't there :(
kinda suprised to, the clearence was a few isles away from the game isles, just thrown on a random shelf.

I know some people enjoyed it. It started off promising, but I couldn't get into it even after a few hours. It's too bad because I had high hopes for it. There's a demo, but it's pretty short.

It makes a decent webcam for your PC, too, if you're looking for something like that. The game itself is actually a lot of fun if you have people to play it with. It's been a big hit when family comes to visit.

I haven't played that far into BL, so I may not be the best source of advice. However, if the phrase "Jack Black starring in a heavy metal open world" appeals to you in any way, $5 is probably worth your time.

:ps3: prototype 7.48

Left one on the shelf. Also had Rockband Van Halen for 14.xx and Star Wars Clone Wars for 12.xx or something around that price.

Got the last Brutal Legends game for $5 on 360 at one Target. PS3 one was still $13.xx. The endcaps were gone, and there were a TON of toys on clearance. Like 1/4 of every toy isle.

Bayonetta here is still $59.99.... I have a copy on both systems, but I could get a new one and trade mine up to goozex if I could find one for $15.

I stopped by 2 Targets after work today. I saw the following:

:360: Alone in the Dark $9.xx
:360: Spongebob: Truth or Square $9.xx
:360: Need for Speed:prostreet $4.xx

I'm still trying to find :ps3: Bayonetta for cheap. It seems there are lots of stuff on clearance in different departments, but the electronics department

I've saw the game in so. cal this past weekend for 20.98.

Saw fallout trilogy PC pack for 10.98.

I saw Brutal Legend for the ps3 for 13.98 at Target in midlothian, va. That's actually the first clearance game I have seen at Target in months.

went to target yesterday and clearance games are back. there was a huge stack on the endcap. none were cheap enough for me yet but its nice to see the clearance cycle return. how often do the reduce the prices?
Found the black Flip Video 60 minute MinoHD Camcorder for $99.98.

Nice. Will watch for one of these.

2 or 3 weeks.... Which games did you find it?

Thanks for the opnion guys. I didn't even think about using the You're in the Movies cam as a webcam. I may pick it up if it hits the 50% off mark
2 or 3 weeks.... Which games did you find it?
everything listed by others and more. i didnt make note because i was with my daughter. there were about 10 or 20 copies of your in the movies.

Most prices held this week, although I did see a legion of Brutal Legends for $5 and the secret stash of Metroid Prime Trilogy has seemingly not diminished at all. Hopefully next week I can get stupid Tekken 6 back at a low price!

Stopped by the two Sterling, VA stores. The one off VA-7 still has the old style cabinets set up, nothing special in the games clearance that hasn't already been mentioned. The other one, near the Wegman's, was pretty bare as well.
That one is almost always a bust :/
Thanks for the tip. I had some free time this morning while in the area, and I had already hit the Herndon one yesterday. So It knocked the others out. Now I won't bother stopping by when I hit the other one.

Does Target still have the item tracker on their website? I remember a long time ago there was some kind of tracker where you could enter the the item's product number or upc into the url and it would be able to check the inventory of various Target stores.

I need to find a Target that actually carries the Band Hero set!

Maybe someone else has mentioned this already, but I noticed a game clearance...um...."shelf area" at one of my Targets. There were these tiny shelves at the end of the gaming aisles. It wasn't the endcap, but the final part of the aisle. Think of it was the "corner" of the aisle, if that makes sense.

There were also some things on the backmost shelving (i.e., the back wall, since that is where my electronics section is), on the bottom part near the floor.

Nothing worth recounting, to be honest, or that hasn't been mentioned on here already.

Snatched up a copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Wii at the Batavia, NY Target. It was marked as clearance, but I found it plugged in the PC gaming aisle. $34.98

Outside of that, the clearance section had Brutal Legend PS3 for $13.98 and some other crap. Usually not a good selection at this store, if a selection at all.

The Metroid pickup was a surprise though. Score!

Stopped by another today, but nothing to my liking.

Super Paper Mario Wii: $34.xx
like 5 copies of Tekken for Xbox: $19.xx

and the other usual shovelware

Only item that caught my eye was a PC copy of Braid clearanced to $9.98. My low end PC won't run it though so I left it.

Picked up You're in the Movies (360) for 13.98. I also saw:

Dead Rising (360) - 13.98
Sega Superstars Tennis (360) - 13.98
Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader (360) - 9.98
Darksiders (360) - 9.98

Man, the "plastic prisons killed clearance" people are now scarcer than "global warming is a myth" folks during last week's heatwave in the northeast.

Nice headsup on Darksiders, Helix. I need to get that game.

Saw You're in the Movies for $9.98 at my local TRU...plus all clearance is currently 25% off so it'd come to like $7.49 pre-tax. Check it out...

Yeah I heard about it being cheaper at TRU but the closest one is 20 minutes away from me. I'm surrounded by Targets.
