Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Those are some odd clearance prices.

13.98 and 20.98 are pretty common, at least lately...

Found GTA Episodes for PC for 7.48 today - snapped that up in a hurry after repeatedly refusing it at 20.98. I also found the Fallout Trilogy for 3.74, You're in the Movies for 9.98, and the Borderlands add-on pack (PC) for 9.98, but I already bought all of those for about $12 more combined. I WANT MY MUNNEH BACK!!!1

There was a Twitter followers challenge issued by one of the Producers of the game. He said he'd give 2x the experience for every 500 followers of his Twitter account. Once he hit 10,000, he said he'd cap it at 20x. Wish I hadn't sent the game to Georgia for my sons to play for the summer. Might have to actually pay a few bucks to rent it from Blockbuster if I can't find it on sale before Saturday.
Yeah i got one of each. They only had about 2 of each. I'm going to get my RPG ON.
Yeah, San Diego area
I checked a Target after work today. No good clearance games
I did find the following:

Motorola bluetooth headset H17 $24.xx (75% off $99.99)
DCPI: 080 08 0328

http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-H17-...e=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1279600069&sr=8-2-spell

Does anyone have any experience using this particular headset? Is it any good?
I don't have that particular model but I do have a Motorola that is similar (smaller but still has the flip mic) and I love it. My favorite feature is that it turns on and off by flipping the mic. There's no holding down a button to get the thing to function.

It's been awhile since I've found any really outstanding deals on games at my local Target. Yesterday I picked up one of those Belkin HDMI packs for $9.98. It has 2x 6 ft HDMI cables and some sort of static free electronics cleaner w/ microfiber cloth.

I found Bayonetta at my local target for around 15$ was a PS3 version so I didn't pick it up. I heard the PS3 version suffers for different reasons

Picked up Fallout trilogy for $3.74. Never played the first one, figured I can't go wrong for that price. Does anyone know what Target and Walmart do with their old strategy guides? Do they ever clearance them?

All indications (no first hand experience) are that a patch resolved basically all of the major PS3 problems. You should be good to go.

It was patched to address the extreme loading issues, framerate issues still exist.
Hmmmm, you mean to say that if I picked up 2 copies of Tekken 6 at $9.98 each instead of the one I picked up I could've gotten a $20 giftcard? :bomb:
lol I'm glad I'm not the only one who picked up on this glitch. I scanned Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 today at Target after it was priced at 24.98 and to my surprise, it was 12.98. It also said something about getting a 20 dollar gift card and I asked an employee about it. She said I just needed to buy another game for it to qualify and I finally found Tekken 6... After months of hoping it would drop, it did and I picked up both games for about 35 after tax WITH a 20 dollar gift card.
I'm not sure I've ever seen Demon's Souls for sale, period, at Target, but those prices make me want to go look!
AFAIK, only Target has done any serious sales (other than recent price drops and the GS power sale). Prior to that, it was $50 or thereabouts everywhere. But a few select Targets got it in stock--not the whole chain--and started marking it down. It was really weird. Very stealth. I found a copy on clearance about six months ago while on a business trip to another city. I was shocked because not a single store in my home town even carried it!

Definitely YMMV on that one, though.

Checked a couple of local stores today after reading the drool-worthy prices up above. NADA. ZILCHO. Clearance is nonexistent here.

I was at Poway Target earlier tonight and I saw:

Brutal Legend (PS3) 13.98
Alone in the Dark (360) 13.98
Arctic Tale (Wii) 7.48
Thanks MM. I'll have to keep an eye out for that as I have yet to play it.
Yeah, I ended up selling it because I didn't have a 360 (still don't). My biggest reluctance to getting a 360 all these years is the RROD, however those 360 slims are looking nice. At this point there is a decent back catalog of cheap 360 games to be had that I missed out on.

I have no interest in Halo or COD, however I have always wanted to give the Gears games a try.

If the games had MSRP's of $20 and $30, respectively, those clearance points would make sense.

Did you know that MS gave a 3 year RROD warranty? You really shouldn't have been worried about buying one since you could get the console repaired/replaced for free for three full years.

Do I worry that a car may break down before buying it? Everything breaks eventually. The only question should be, will it last a reasonable amount of time? With a three year warranty that answer should have been "yes".

The 3 year warranty is technically irrelevant to the question of "Will it last a reasonable amount of time?" The real answer to that question was "No, it will not last a reasonable amount of time, but you can get another system/repair with some hassle, since we (MS) knowingly are selling a faulty product." For many people, even a warranty on a bad product does not help.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. That pig might be good enough for some, but not others. It's relative to each individual's BS threshold.

In other news, I found IL-2 Sturmovik (Xbox 360) for $7.48 and Guitar Hero: Van Halen (PS3) for $12.48.

yea im guessin the msrp and clearance prices are on different programs/updates/software etc etc, plus its a sale/promo.....no wonder its a glitch

if that makes any sense at all #-o......21st century tech at its finest

You're right it's supposed to work like, but I don't know if it's a glitch or not, but what I do know is if a game gets marked down from 39.99 or up, then it should still qualify for the sale. My target even had a crap ton of MLB 09: The Show and it also qualified for the sale. They had Alone in the Dark and that didn't qualify.

Wow now that's the deal I'v been looking for. Been trying to find those two games on clearance, the gift card is a good bonus. If u don't mind me asking what state are u in?

Checked nearly all the Targets in Miami and none have Brutal Legend on clearance. Gears 2 also rang up at normal price at every store I hit as well.

I picked up a lone copy of Spongebob on the 360 for $9.98. Asked what other stores in the area still had them, and was told one. Thinking 4 copies and 2 giftcards on the way, I get there and they're still full price. So just the one copy and a Hot Wheels party for my kid instead of Spongebob. Cheaper hand out parting gifts anyway. Saw Dark Void also on an endcap marked $30, but scanning $20. Maybe the new msrp.

I've been lucky with my 360 (one of the early 20 gig units), but from what I understand, the 3 year warranty only goes from the date of manufacture (the sticker on the back w/ serial number as well), not by when purchased.

If you have the receipt showing when you purchased it, it goes by purchase date. The only time MS goes by manufacture date is if you don't have the receipt. If companies went by manufacture date, some items with 90 day warranties would never be covered.

I had my old 360 repaired last year, due to the RROD, and they went by the purchase date that they had on file. I've always read that they're notified electronically when the console was sold by the stores, and that's what they use.

I never had to produce a receipt, and the date they had in the system was quite a few months after my old Xbox's manufacture date.

Bought 2 copies of Tekken 6 (360) at 19.96, and got a $20 gift card woohoo! Giving one to a friend. Thanks for the tip on that one!

Target in Davis CA has like 5 of the Tekkens left on their clearance endcap.

Today I picked up PS3 Bayonetta for $14.98 and PS3 MLB 09 The Show for $19.98 and was givin a $20 gift card. When I checked them both at the scanner it told me about the gifft card.I won't have gotten MLB if it wasn't for the giftcard was like getting free since I know I'll use the giftcard a Target eventually.

Does this work?

I tried going to half.com, but can't find any barcodes.

Also tried looking up some barcodes for games on google images, but they are from different countries or whatnot.

Picked up Fallout Trilogy PC for $3.74.

Saw some Wii Football Backyard Pros or something like that for $13 and some change, left that because it doesnt look worth more than 9.98.

Got 2 Metroid prime trilogy for 24.98 each and 20 dollar gift card. Last two copies. Saw 5 more copies last week but left them, and of course someone grabbed them. Dont blame em. Also got tiger woods 2010 xbox 360 for 20.98 last one at boynton beach west, fl. No giftcard offered for tiger woods.
Does this work?

I tried going to half.com, but can't find any barcodes.

Also tried looking up some barcodes for games on google images, but they are from different countries or whatnot.
half.com only provides the upc #

upcdatabase.com turns the actual numbers (39853083543) into a upc code that scanners will read
