Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

The Target near me only has alone in the dark for 9.98, but i bought it used for 4 dollars at the power sale at gamestop. Otherwise its all cell phone and gps stuff... :( I would love to see some of those good deals posted!
 
My target had Alone in the Dark for $4.98, Tekken 6 360 for $14, Operation Flashpoint DR for $14 (hoping it drops today) and a few others.
 
Air Hogs Switchblade remote "planes" have hit 75% off, and are at $12.48 now from $49.99. Not a bad gift to sit on for the holidays.

Grabbed it at this price too. Also snagged Lego Indy set for $7.xx and Lego SW Pirate ship set for around $20.xx.

The working theory I have been going by is:

1) The games must have an original price of $39.99 before going on clearance

and

2) The price of both games must be over $20 in order to get the $20 gift card. In your case both games added up to $19.96 so the gift card wouldn't automatically be added to the order.

Again, this is just a theory. And who knows, they may have actually fixed this glitch by now, now that it's in the 2nd week of the gift card deal.

The other 2 had zip, zilch, nada.
 
I found 2 ps3 Bayonetta for 14.98, I bought them both and received a $20 gc.. : )

Also picked up a copy of MPT and Super Paper Mario for 24.98 each and got 20 gc..

Glad to hear the gift card with clearance/price drops is still alive and kicking. I'm hoping for a number of drops this week.
 
Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader (360) is still 9.98 at the Target I went to. Anyone got this game? I'll probably buy it if it hits 4.98.

Good move, I bought Tekken 6 (360) when it was on clearance for $15 and it sucked. I flipped it and got $22 trade in at Gamestop when the baseball games came out.

MLB 09 is a great baseball game but not worth $20 because it doesn't justify the value on trade or resell.

Does anyone know the day for clothing drops? I am going to a wedding in about two weeks and need a new belt. There's some on clearance but I was hoping it would drop again, but I'm not sure what day that normally falls on.

Why do I bother? I live about a mile and a half away from Target and I go in at least once a week optimistic and always leave wondering why the hell I went in in the first place.

Originial price doesn't mean much. I tired with Karaole Revolution, 19.99 (50% off) and SpongeBob, 9.99 (75%) no good, and I also tried with a 4000 Point card, 49.99, and the SpongeBob game. No dice either time. Seems pretty random, because some people have reported success with SpongeBob.

Toys, electronics, and clothing are all usually the same day (typically Monday), but it can vary by district/store.

Im not sure if it has been confirmed, but as far as that picture shows, the non 39.99 clearance games working for the $20 gift card thing is not a glitch. I mean it clearly shows a game for 27.98 advertised for it...

I don't think anyone has reported success with Spongebob? I know I read at least 3 posts saying Spongebob doesn't work.

same here, i tell me wife to check all her clearance items in different departments and they drop on mondays but still might be YMMV
 
i finally bought halo wars for $13.98 today. Not my favorite, but just needed it for the halo collection. :)

I was at a meeting the other day, and one of the women in attendance works at Target, and she claimed that at her store everything drops on a different day. Didn't get a chance to ask her what day electronics drop... :roll:
 
I went to a couple Target stores today, picked up a MPT for $24.98 that hadn't been out before and a Wii Madagascar Kartz w/wheel for $7.48. I had forgotten about the $20 gc, but stopped at another Target and was able to return the MPT and re-bought it with a Wii GH:Van Halen for $24.98 and got the gc. Turned right back around and used the gc to buy some TP and cat food I was just gonna buy at Walmart anyway. Basically getting GH:VH for $5 works for me, and was very pleasantly surprised to find the MPT! :)

Wimminz clothing drops on Thursday and Men's clothing on Friday.

Electronics/entertainment/baby clothes drop on Monday. Toys/shoes drop on Thursday. But clearance can be YMMV depending on if the price change team is behind or not, or if there are massive clearance drops, especially when a seasonal department is transitioning to the next seasonal merchandise (i.e., patio furniture to back to school).

Inventory is tomorrow at my store lulz.

I might pick up OFP Dragon Rising if it sticks around until it hits the $5 price range. Then again I've heard people having isses w/ the game. Is it any good? I know since BFBC2 came out, it probably got deserted even moreso.

They had GT5:p for $14.98, and since I can't find it in my area I decided to get it (without scanning it or reading the site). Imagine my surprise when it rang up $7.48! Splendid! There is one copy left there, among some DS and Wii Games.

Yeah, that's always a nice surprise. Mine was marked $14.xx as well, I guess they had not adjusted the price tags yet.
 
Just returned from Target... and saw the following.

Absolutely no PS3 games. Haven't seen a PS3 game on clearance in quite a while. Figures... as PS3 is all I really play. :(
 
I had been waiting for MPT to drop below 30 and finally got my wish when I found it for 24.98 yesterday. I also picked up Bayonetta for 14.98 and ended up getting a gift card. I'm waiting to see if they ever put the Blu Ray Bourne Trilogy on sale so I can use the gift card and get it for under 30.

You'll be waiting for awhile. I can't picture Bourne Trilogy BD going on sale until maybe Holiday season.

I just imported the UK Bourne Trilogy BD last year. $28 USD total including shipping and taxes. Not sure if it's still that cheap but unless you're attached to the US packaging it's a great option (and Region A compatible).

Edit: Still $28.18 shipped to US. If you get tired of waiting, that option is always there.
 
I was going to look at GoW2 today, but the yellow sticker says its the standard edition even though GOTY edition is in the case. All of the price scanners said 'temporarily out of service' :\
