Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

:pc: Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days for $4.98. Surprised when I found this. There were others also tagged for this much, and also some tagged at $7.48. The SHELF tag was $24.98. It scanned at the register for $12.48. - so 4 different prices haha. In the end the clerk sold it to me for the what it was tagged at, so 5 bucks. Obviously it was a mistake, but 90% off is not bad for a game that came out 1 month ago.

I saw quite suprised when I saw this tagged at my Target for 24.xx. Shoulda scanned it, but Im not too into the PC version of this game

I saw the following:

:ps3: RB: Green Day $34.xx
:wii: Madden 2010 $20.xx
:wii: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010 $20.xx (might be cheaper than that, but didn't bother checking it)

I picked up :ps3: Naughty Bear $12.48 (DCPI 207240353). I'm not sure if I should actually keep this or return it.

I just went to a midnight Target and stashed 20 copies of Halo Reach in the PS3 section. They'll never find it there!

Awwww yeah. Now I just sit back and wait....

Saw Prototype PC for $10, Alien vs Predator PC for $15, Burnout Paradise City for 360 for $14, Wolfenstein PC for $20, some DS games, Dark Void PS3 for $20, and when I glanced at the shelves, I saw Borderlands PC for $9.98, Bioshock 2 PC for $15, and a few casual games on clearance, too.

I waited forever for Prototype and when it went on sale during the Perils of Summer on Steam, I took it as an omen and got it then. Paid a bit less than the $15 at Target. Already got Burnout, didn't want the rest, except Wolfenstein and AvP.

I was really torn between the two because I felt they were both still slightly overpriced. However, Wolfenstein had two copies and AvP had one (plus a security device, which I thought was kinda funny for a $15 game in the clearance section). Watch out! People will STEAL yer AvP PC!

Ahem. Anyways, I haven't opened my AvP yet. I'm debating it, but I figured its easier to debate it if I get it than let it lie and see the only copy go poof. Anyone played this one yet? Worth opening? Not? The reviews all say its bland, nothing new, but HAI U GET 2 PLAY AS A PREDATOR AND TEAR PPLZ HEADZ OFF OR BITE THRU THEIR SKULL!

Now personally, I could take a bland, mediocre game where I tore men's heads from their bodies and caressed their spines as the tropies they were always meant to be. I could. I'm just wondering if there's some other part of this that makes the game not worth $15? Plus, it's Steamworks, which means I can have all the benefits of Steam. Seemed like a good deal to me, but I'm not completely sure.

I'm currently dealing with the same dilemma. :)

The employees at my local target are dragging their feet. No clearance price drops so far. Going to check back tomorrow morning after work. Maybe their clearance day is Tuesday...

I haven't seen any video game drops that haven't already been reported here, however, there are a bunch of random electronic drops. Some Nuvi GPS units are on clearance as well as a nice TOMTOM with lifetime maps. Nice Kodak D830 digital pic frame on clearance, smaller Sony E-book reader, and one or two smaller (320 GB I think) portable hard drives.

Nothing great as far as game clearance.

But we got some Low Sugar Apple Cinnamon oatmeal for the kids on clearance.

Also, 5 hour energy was on clearance for 15% for those of you who like that kind of stuff.

Returned to Target for some CD/DVD cases they hvae on clearance (208 holder for $11, 96 holder for $6) and found they've destroyed their sections with clearance stickers. My secondary Target now has everything the primary does, plus all these DVD/CD holders on clearance.

I saw Clearance section(s), my primary has TWO clearance sections now. And both Targets had clearance stickers on every aisle in Electronics (and I saw some on the way out in clothing). Hell, as I was just leaving my primary one, there was a clearance sticker that had escaped the building and was sticking on the street. THat's how many clearance stickers they are using.

I saw The Orange Box for 360 for $14, Call of Juarez 360 $14, Alpha Protocol 360 $41, I saw some Rock Band. And I saw a Logitech PC controller that looks like a PS controller knock off for $14 on the aisle on clearance. Oh, and a WD 320gb hd for $50.98. I think that's still high, but someone else might like it.

Hope it helps. Still undecided on AvP, whether to open or not. There aren't any left, though, so no more drops. Hmmm...

EDIT: I also saw all the Halo Reach stuff, including the $150 version of the game with the statue and I couldn't help but grin to myself. That'll be clearance in no time at all and we'll be picking it up for $40 online. Like every other CE. Like I saw after I paid my $150 for the shrunken Master Chief head. Can't wait! Well, at the very least the shirts'll go on clearance at Target.

Wish Wolfenstein PC was $15, I'd buy it without hesitation.

So one of the Target's I went to last week had inFamous, NFS: Undercover, MGS4, Lego Rockband on clearance for PS3 and Alpha Protocol for both consoles. Today, they were all gone. Every single one. Now it's just Green Day Rockband, which I wouldn't pay $5 for. Didn't see any new drops.

Wolfenstein was an amazon deal of the day for $10 shipped in August.

I went looking for Starcraft 2, but no luck. Someone must have already grabbed them all. I did find,

Bioshock $10
Bioshock + Oblivion $13
Bioshock 2 $15
Red Faction $15
AvP $15

They also had some wii, ds and psp stuff, but I did not bother with it.

I went to another Target today and their clearance section was meh, hoping for Alpha Protocol to at least drop to 30.xx. However, all was not in vain. I seemed to have discovered someone's stash spot in the grocery area and I found Naughty Bear (PS3) for 12.48. Guess I'll play it for a few hours before flipping it.

Now we just need all those Reach goodies to go on clearance.

Wonder if that's with purchase of the system since the price on the card in the pic is still $49.99

Last night I picked up Naughty Bear (PS3) for $12.98 and Madden 2010 (PSP) for $4.98 last night (last copies at the Orem, UT store).

They had several copies of SW The Clone Wars Republic Heroes (Xbox 360) for around $13.xx which I skipped. Lego Rock Band (PS3) for $13.xx and couple of copies of Army of Two 40th Day (PSP) for $20.xx (will wait until it drops further).

I hit up two Targets yesterday and both had decent clearance sections for once!

I got Assassin's Creed for PSP for $13.98 at the first store and passed on a $12.48 copy of Naughty Bear.
I'm interested in it, but I've heard nothing but bad things so I'm going to wait and see if it drops again.

I got LEGO Rock Band for PS3 for $13.98 at the second store. :D
anyone see MGS4 hit 10 bucks? i would pick it up at that price. Still looking for bayonetta for PS3
There's still some copies of Bayonetta @ my Target for PS3. Hopefully they'll make it to $7.48 by next week.

It's already at 75% at $14.98.

My Target hasn't had any good games on clearance for a while now, unless you think 50 copies of Call of Duty 3 for the PS2 for $5 each is a deal. I saw a PS3 Bayonetta for under $20 once, but that was only because the case was beat up to hell. But I never see the premium titles that you guys find.

Success! My friend and I were able to get 2 cards each... although it took a bit for them to give us the deal. The card scans @ $49.99 and NO the price does not change when you add the bundle (the sign specifically says "Also Available" which was the deciding factor). Looks like someone in the art dept. messed up :)

I tried to get more cards for my friends, but they only honored the 2 cards per person. After that, they took down the sign. Good luck!

Sign wasn't up at the store I checked. :( I was betting on the same thing basically, they have to honor a price that is listed, but no such luck.

I never like these "make someone honor the misprinted price" sort of deals. It's clearly a mistake when Target employees are removing signs after a couple people buy a couple cards for that price. At the same time, if I hadn't read up on the forums and perused Slick Deals and actually went to a Target, I wouldn't have any qualms trying to get them for that price.

no go at my Target.

I did however get pissed when the manager started making up shit about their store policies. Come on dude, just say it was a printing error, you can't sell it to me, and everything would be fine. Paying an extra $10 online won't kill me. But don't lie to me and tell me something I know is not true.

Why do some store managers feel the need to bullshit customers? Just be straight and nobody ends up upset.
Pick up the sign and price match it at wal-Mart
Or you could print the picture. No, umm. I don't think either Walmart or Best Buy price-match pricing errors.

Laws vary state to state, but most do have a law stating that if a product is labeled at a certain price in store they have to honor it. (and most stores also have it as an internal policy) There are a couple of solid reasons for this, the least of which is that it constitutes a form of false advertising, or could be used to "lure" the customer into accidentally making a purchase for more than they intended. (i.e. You pick up a lot of stuff at Target and don't even notice that card rings up wrong, etc.)

It is however completely legal in those cases for them to take the sign down and then they no longer have to offer any future customers the "advertised price" since it is no longer being advertised.

I think that's the law in all states. I sent target a complaint but doubt they'll do anything. I was more upset with the manager's shitty attitude than not getting the deal.
