Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Yes it is. They wouldn't clear out games if it wasn't good for the bottom line. Making space for the new hotness makes business sense.
No, the problem lies with them order or paying more than necessary from the other companies/Headquarters to get the merchandise in store, get what I am saying?

Wasting time is not a good thing for workers.. so what they are also doing is WASTING time for their employees to do extra unnessary work ONLY for what? ONLY Create Illusions that it's full while it's really not full.

And, it goes into the WRONG place! A big no no! Can't believe Target as a corporation encourages that S***!

If I am an employee could spend the time help more guests out, that crap is just totally waste of time, IMO

Target is one of the companies that is extremely wasteful and makes retarded business decisions (See above).

If they solve these problems, watch out Wal-mart, Target just might chase your tail!

But what am I saying? I am glad they are being stupid haha... cuz I love get the clerances so I can save $$$! :D

I get a kick out of people who have clearly never worked retail and don't realize that even on a busy day helping every single customer doesn't take up an entire 8 hour shift.

Oh boy. Another business expert.

Illusions of being full work very well. If you walk into a store and it's half empty, you don't get the impression that the sales staff is top notch and they move product very fast. You feel that the store doesn't have what you want and you leave.

Also, many employees don't help customers when they're free. They retreat to less traveled areas of the store or cluster to "assist" other workers. A good manager finds tasks for his employees no matter how mundane. If the task is crappier than helping guests, then the employees will go out of their way to help customers.

This really doesn't have anything to do with clearance so I'll leave it at that.
Do you work dayside or overnight? If you can tell by my previous posts, I work in the day, but I usually close since I go to school full time.
It's retail, finding "busy work" for adults to do is pointless. They're paying these folks minimum wage but they expect them to work as hard as someone that would be getting paid $50 an hour? I'm sorry, it's fucking retail and these people know their jobs suck. Of course they aren't going to be motivated by their paltry wage. Most of them are probably only doing the job because they can't find anything better right now.

Went today during lunch to the Target in Rockville, MD, just wanted to update on some games that are available there.

Xbox 360
9.98
Burnout Paradise (Greatest Hits box)
13.98
Dead Rising (Greatest Hits box)

:ps3: Playstation 3
9.98
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood
14.98
Dark Void
20.98
Borderlands
Prototype
Street Fighter IV
UFC 2009
Is Dark Void worth $4.98? :bouncy:
I think so. It's not a really long game, but the flying levels make up for it due to how fun they are. :)
also,
I bought a sandwich from subway on my way home with the game. I put the game in while I munched. I still had sandwich left by the time I realized the game sucked.

Moral of the story is there are better ways to spend your five bucks.

Metairie La still has stacks of most of the games mentioned already but they are so poorly displayed that you can't look through them and the employees get mad when you try to dig through the pile to see what they have.
Thanks for saving me $5. :)

Went to a few targets yesterday and saw the following

Ps3:ps3:

Tekken 6 $20.98 Saw about 4 copies
Prototype $20.98
Bioshock 2 collectors $49.98

Wii:wii:

Silent Hill Shattered Memories $27.98

Xbox:360:

Burnout paradise $9.98
Super Street Fighter IV $19.99

Anyone know if prototype is a good game worth $20.98 and why is only the Xbox 360 version of SSFIV $19.99 but the PS3 version is still $39.99. Looks like ninja gaiden sigma 2 has started to sell out at $34.99 price. Yesterday at one target there were no copies in the game aisles were there use to be some, but when I scanned the bar code for it, it said none in aisles but some in stockroom. I wonder if they are going to eventually bring some more out.

Nope. Just someone that's owned a business and worked in retail in the past. I have no idea what I'm talking about though so please continue to rail against Target and any other company that doesn't do business exactly the way you think it should. I mean Target expanded from a Minnesota retail store to an international giant so it does things ass backwards right?

And to the typical guy above you, you just illustrated why minimum wage employess MUST be given mundane tasks. They aren't motivated to improve the company's bottom line so they must be given work to do that's so bad that they will do something they think is better.

Don't like restocking shelves? Help a customer. Don't like doing price tags? Help a customer.
Is Borderlands PS3 worth $20.98?
Yeah, the game is worth $20. The GOTY version was just released, but its $60, and includes 4 DLC, which are individually priced at $10, so I wouldn't pay any more than $20 for the base game.

That is the problem with the American workforce.

Yeah, pretty much. I worked for Circuit City and Best Buy in the past, and if I was given a choice between restocking shelves, and helping customers, I'd help customers almost every time.

I snagged a 600 DVD unit for $17 as well. Problem is im starting to think the 600 count their coming up with is if you put the dvd's in sleeves inside those little fabric boxes they recommend. Guess ill find out when I build it.

You might also get lucky and find the DLC disc on clearance too. Tonight I saw the Zombie Island/Mad Moxxi DLC two-pack for $9.98. 360 only though.

I haven't been following Target's clearance system for a few months now, do they drop prices on Monday still usually?

That's exactly how they're coming up with that number.

Bought a copy of Borderlands (pc) for a little over $5. Also bought a copy of Metro 2033 (pc) at $13 for my cousin. Still haven't seen Infamous or SSF4 for $20 yet though.

I know at my store, electronics prices drop (or at least the clearance section updates) on Tuesdays usually.

I've been waiting for orange box to hit 5 bucks but noticed someone pealed the 9.98 sticker off, making it look more expensive. I played through hl1 years ago but never played hl2 or either expansion. Also since portal costs 15 on its own, it seemed like I had better just pick it up. So rather than waiting for another price drop and fighting competition, I picked up the last copy at my target. I had to justify this purchase to myself in this way because of my backlog. I am glad I didn't buy portal off of xbl now, I prefer to save hdd space plus this copy is resellable.

That why you always scan the item of interest. :)

Lots of drops again at my Target. I went on Monday and nothing - I think they do their markdowns on Tuesdays.

K&L 2 - $12.98
Alpha Protocol - $12.98
Splinter Cell Conviction - $12.98

Waiting for these to drop to $7.49.
That's exactly how they're coming up with that number.
Yep. I bought one of the "300" count Atlantic racks on clearance for $12. It holds exactly 33 DVD's or games with cases on the three shelves.

I picked up Call of Juarez for $9.98 at my local Target in Jackson, MS. About the best deal I have seen there in a long time. That game any good? They also had Borderlands for $21, but that was a little much for me since I know nothing of that game.

The number did seem a little high....

Oh well. I was only planning on holding a small amount of games in the living room on it. The gf makes me hide the full collection in the closet....

Today I picked up the Bioshock 2 Special Edition for X360 for $35. I was planning on waiting until it hit 75% but only one store in my area had it at 50% so I don't think the rest of them will ever make it that far.

They most likely won't since they are already at 75%...

Checked local target today, saw borderlands for the ps3 at $20.xx. Prototype was marked at $30.xx in clearance section, didn't bother to scan it to see if it was correct price or just some lazy employees.

I see clearance games at mine drop to 5.xx every now and then. Picked up Brutal Legend a while back at 5.28 or some odd number.
I see clearance games at mine drop to 5.xx every now and then. Picked up Brutal Legend a while back at 5.28 or some odd number.
Yes, but Brutal Legend was probably already 19.99 retail. Those PC games are still priced at 49.99, so $12.48 is the lowest they will go. Seriously, to the dude that found em, buy em now if you want to play em.

Went to target yesterday and couldn't find any ps3 games that were on clearance earlier. I looked up and down the PS3 section (which is about 20-24 feet) and all I saw was Call of Juarez and a PSP game. Then I find a endcap with 1 copy of Prototype, 1 copy of Ninja Gaiden and a few copies of Borderlands. I was stumped because there was like 14 games on clearance a week ago and they are simply not that many customers there. So then I look everywhere and I find this:

Checked today. Splinter Cell: Conviction, K&L2, and Alpha Protocol (all for PC) $24.98. Wolfenstein was $9.98 (what I paid for it already). Dawn of War 2 is $7.48. A bunch of casual games.

Waiting for the drop to $12.98 on K&L2 and Alpha Protocol because I think that's what they're both worth. I already have Splinter Cell. Wish they'd put Assassin's Creed 2 for PC also down there around there, but it's currently $29.99 (regular).

Funny story, but I walked up when El Hoardo was digging through the games, looking disgusted at the prices on Ninja Gaiden 2 and Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma. He took a bunch of the LCD TV's (7") for $32 and left. As I went through the games myself, another El Hoardo arrived and went as if to push me out of the way, but I stood my ground and he departed toward another Clearance endcap one aisle over. After I left, he slid in where I was and resumed the ravaging of the endcap.

It's in pretty sad shape. Not like the typical CAG'er, I suspect these guys were Slickdeals or FatWallet-born and raised. They had that, "I want to buy my McD hamburger with a coupon and convince you the coupon meant a double cheeseburger with two slices of cheese instead of the McDouble with the 50% less cheese (aka ONE WHOLE SLICE) because the $.10 is God to me," look in their eyes.

Stopped by my local target during lunch and saw a bunch of games at the clearance section. Unfortunately there were no less than 5 people huddled around it so it made it impossible to get to. All I recall seeing is Bioshock 2 CE and the orange box. I could've muscled my way in but decided not to. I'm taking off in a couple of weeks and wont have time to play these games.

Love it!

Ugh. I'd been dreading this since I first got into the thread a few weeks ago, but tonight I finally went to the Target down the street and was so disappointed by their clearance selection. Just huge stacks of shit all lumped together in a big pile, PC, 360, DS, EVERYTHING. Pretty lazy in their price droppings. Call of Heroes expansion for $20.08 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for $35. Won't be going back there despite it being less then a mile away.
