Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Made a Target run today despite going there yesterday and a lot of the stuff from yesterday is now gone (all Wii stuff and 3DS stuff now) but surprisingly they added PSP 2GB Memory cards to the clearance endcap for $6 (2007000313).

picked up psp value dual pack with ratchet and clank and dexter 207-20-0452 for 4.48

also picked up

psp wipeout pure and the psp ape escape on the loose

dpci 207-20-1717 and 207-20-1716 for $2.98 each.

This was at Methuen, MA. The only one I have seen them that low at. The other PSP value games and dual packs were similarly priced, including the golf game and some 1st person shooters.

I also picked up those Ps3 usb cables for 3.88 for no apparent reason other than they were on sale. these were the six foot ones in the red box, not at methuen, though.

Oh yeah, the value psp games are the ones in the cardboard display, not usually locked up, but low on the shelf and loose.
 
I hate going to Target and finding like 10 CLX wii games and that's about it.

Boca Park was barren except for the one game that I want and waiting for it to drop one more time - hoping I get lucky there lol.


Target on Charleston/Decatur had DQ6 for 10.xx but I got a phone call, got distracted and left the store without buying it.

I'm gonna take the DPCI# with me anyway n punch it into their scanner. Of course, if it comes up $15 and is nowhere to be found, then I'm gonna be pissed at myself for procrastinating.

Although on the good potential deal front, the $50 Kindle cards are showing available across all of the Target stores in my area.:whee:

Here's to hoping for Amazon credit for 25% of normal price if I don't find anything else decent.;)

I've been really trying to get UFC trainer ps3. I've gone to probably 4-5 targets in FL each of them have had it and none of them were on clearance (each time I ask the guy it rings up $39.99)... damn!

The local Target I shop at does not have scanners with a keyboard either, but it does have buttons on the side.
 
As I found out, there isa new card with the same DCPI for those Kindle Cards and they are ringing up full price - at least in my targets.....

Sounds like the store is still rocking the old style price checker.

Your only option is to print up UPCs for the items before going in. Check the OP for instructions on how to do it

Actually, some of the newer stores or revamped stores have new scanners that do not have the number pads on the side so it looks like the DPCI's will eventually become obsolete to us CAGers.
 
Motherless motherfuckers. As I mentioned earlier today, I checked the mobile site again today before heading to the further off Target to physically check for the :ps3:Uncharted 3 CE and the :ps3:COD: MW 3 CE.

Had I gone a few days earlier to this further store I probably would've found at least an Uncharted 3 CE, since it was showing limited availability then for it. As of this morning it was showing unavailable for that store, but a store 25-30 miles away that WAS unavailable yesterday is now showing limited stock.:bomb:

So either this stock locator thing is completely unreliable and glitchy as fuck, or some prick bought an UC3 CE n 'moved' it to their 'local' store. fuckers.:bomb:

This is what I get for procrastinating though.:cry: Oh and for the record, the price for both games I checked: $29.98.:bomb::bomb:

buy it then monitor the price. Then take it back when it hits the lower price and tell them you had a gift card and wanted to use it on your purchase. When they ring it up it will be at the lower price. It is 29.xx In ma and we usually drop in price late

Will these go on clearance like the others have or will they keep it at this price? Do some Target stores choose not to put items on clearance?

DPCIs won't. Just find some 90 year old lady, working in a corner, and ask her to check for you. DPCI's, also, tell you which stores have what....sometimes. So, no, no obsolete.

I actually bought a GoW LE a few days ago for full price hoping to PA from 79.99 to 29.98. oddly enough the stores that I was sure of that had it for 29.98 bumped the price back up to 79.99... *shrug* I ended up returning it (picked it up as a xmas gift for someone but decided to buy something cheaper lool). This was about 4 days ago but if anyone wants it, I returned it to the Culver City mall target store in LA.

oh you aren't going to blame it on some hoarding employee or a soccer mom? who's to say someone didn't stumble accross those two games and legitimately wanted them?

believe it or not sometimes normal, non hoarding gamers do shop at target ... not always a conspiracy lol

Yes, perhaps I misspoke in using the term obsolete. While the DPCIs themselves are not being discontinued throughout Target, the capability of CAGs to check them without having to rely on Target personnel is slowly being removed store by store as the revamps and remodelings occur.

From what I was told by a Target manager, corporate sends out nation-wide instructions as to which items to discount and for how long. So in theory, all Targets should have the same deals and discounts. But it doesnt always happen that way.
 
Non game, but someone in the Lego thread noted they found the Lego Pirates of the Caribbean Black Pearl Pirate Ship set on clearance in LA for half off ($49.98).

So I've been checking its DPCI in stores (204-00-0522), and it came up on clearance at the Culver City non-mall store yesterday for $49.98, and showing as "stockroom: yes". So I got an older worker who was re-stocking toys to check the stockroom, and he brought out the last 2, both marked with clearance stickers.

Guessing some employee who was keeping them in the back won't be happy :D. Although, it's still showing as "limited availability" at that store...

picked up the $79.99 kindle which through today has an additional $10 GC (so 2 $10 gcs plus I used a $5 off $50 coupon that printed at checkout a couple days ago...tried to use a $8 off $80 after adding a cliff bar...but it expired one day before...)

Went to my local Target last night. The clearance rack was picked clean and other than a couple crappy Wii games was empty. Holiday shoppers have put a damper on finding decent Target clearance deals.
