Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I would have picked those up in a heart beat LOL. I bought one copy for $8.98.... Idk about everywhere else in socal, but around my area the lowest price a game will ever go for is $8.98. I'm guessing everything below that is either donated to goodwill or instantly sold lol.

TrU will give you $5.25 for up to 3.
 
I'm headed to Syracuse(NY) area for work today and the one Target up there is still showing the $300 Panasonic plasma tv as 'limited availability'. Hmmmm....

Now do I try n go to that store to see if it's actually in stock or forget about it? The last store listing it as in stock it was out of the system and 'sent back' already.:cry:
 
Picked up an iHome for my wife for her desk. It has a lamp and organizer and was on clearance at my store for $22. She wanted it so I picked it up. I have learned that if you see something you want to go ahead and grab and not risk letting it go another week and maybe not being there.
 
I honestly don;t even think my store has a clearance end cap anymore. Last time I was there it was one shelf, about 3 feet wide and had maybe 3 games on it and like batteries.

Keep an eye out for 'on-line' clearance items on the end caps. At the stores here in the Brevard area they start at 50% off. One of my buddies at work picked up a 360 Gears Of War bundle for 1/2 price.

What Target is that? I go to the Melbourne and West Melbourne ones all the time and recently the clearance section has been more barren than a post apocalyptic setting.

I think those are online returns, they put it with the clearance and have the same sticker, but the percentage off will vary.
 
Online items are returns from online purchases made in store. I snagged a PS2 at 75% off one time due to online item. I also got a guide for 65% off one time.
 
Do you think you could buy something online, return it in store, then re-buy it at the newly discounted price? That might seem unethical though, I'm not sure

I picked one up for $50 as well. I actually left it there when I first saw it and a buddy of mine (who is also a long time CAG) told me I was crazy to not pick it up. He said he checked Amazon and eBay and they are selling for $100+. Needless to say, I ran back to Target and picked it up. I was lucky it was still there.

On another note, I found a DJ Hero 2 bundle with turntable for $15. Another Target I went to had a bunch of games on an end cap, but they were all marked with a white sticker and priced between $19.99 & $29.99. Are the white stickers taking the place of the red clearance stickers. I know I read something about it in this thread, but never saw a definitive answer.

Hmmm, not surprising, given that most Targets I've been to now have a "discount"/greatest hits game section, usually sharing the same aisle as the PC games. Except that the pricing is the new MSRP of $19.99 or $29.99. Some of the games are $14.99, but they are mostly shovelware garbage.

I don't think these games are taking the place of actual clearance though, as I've seen many of the games that ended up in this section get clearanced as well, such as various $4.98 X360 Platinum Hits games like Halo ODST, Bioshock 1 etc.

Is it unethical? To me that is closer to the concept of Arbitrage. On a small scale I don't really see anything too wrong with it, imo.

In the Platinum/Greatest Hits Section, they're generally marked correctly. You'll need to take them to a scanner.
 
Saw 1 copy of transformers war for cybertron for :ps3: @ 50% off for $19.98. Anyone think this game is worth it for that much? Also when I scanned the game it said item not found. If I decide to get it do I just pay up front and the cashier will just sell it for the clearance price sticker even though it scans as item not found?
 
If you find am employee worth their salt, they can look up the last price it was at on clearance (hopefully 75%), and then give it to you for that, hopefully saving you a couple more bucks. A lot will just offer it to you for the $19.xx price, though, since it was the last sticker on the game, whether it made it past that price or not.

I would take it to the manager, there has been times when it has rang up as $0.00 and the manager has said we will sell it for $1 since its out of inventory.

Other times they will refuse to sell out claiming once it hits $0 it should not be on the shelf, or they will charge you the last price it was marked down.

Its a gamble but when you can get games for $1 it never hurts to ask

I did in fact as a manager who directed me to the guy working the electronics register. He said that the game was marked for salvage and was mistakenly still on the shelf. He said whatever the price was on the sticker was the price. However when I asked if the price would fall anymore he said no, but offered to sell it to me for 4.88 which, while not $1 was still too good of a deal to pass up.

I tried for the 46" plasma yesterday at the Cicero NY store and it came up salvage in their scanner and 'item not found' on the normal self serve product scanners.:cry: Oh well.

Uncharted 3 CE came up $99.99 still at that same store, but with ZERO in stock.

They also had a copy of :br:Happy Feet for $2.56 in stock marked as an 'online item' with the UPC(sticker over the original UPC) scribbled over with black permanent marker.

There was only ONE copy in stock there.

If you have a Blockbuster left in your area and don't care if it's a new or used copy, they're having a 3/$15 or 5/$25 sale on used games/movies $14.99 and under right now. Transformers: War For Cybertron is one of those games that qualifies.

So you could get it for $5 from Blockbuster along with 2 other games/movies for $15 n tax total.;)

Thanks for the info unfortunately there is only one blockbuster left around me and they don't have it there or any games that I would want for the 3 for $15. I guess I will ask someone at target if they can check what the last price for transformers WFC was.

You should have them check the DPCI at another Target in your area, since another store may have them for $14.98(or at least $29.98). I was tempted to grab one if I saw it at that store yesterday for $99.99 and then return/rebuy at a closer store.;)
 
According to the online one it was the only store with copies. Oh well since they had 4 I did "move" one of them just in case later it gets clearanced.

Has anyone else seen Fortune Street on clearance? One person mentioned seeing it for $35, but I haven't found it anywhere for that price. I really want this (and have stuff to trade!), but I need to get a deal on it.

That was the Shangri-La Target where Skyrim and a bunch of other new releases were on clearance. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but nobody else has reported finding the same deals. Huge YMMV.

Today I nabbed a copy of Kirby: Return to Dreamland for 24.95 at the Tallahassee Target. There was another copy left. 50% off not bad. Once me and the missus are done with Epic Yarn we are going to go ahead and play it. I figure I can get back the cash easily, so free rental (and then some maybe).
