Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Man it should be a rule that if you find any game that is marked that price, just buy it. I borrowed that game last summer from my friends roomie, and even though I didn't care much for it I would love to pick it up for that cheap!

20 minute drive to the only other target in my area and all the good stuff was gone. had a bunch of ps3 guitar hero and random move games. saw a warhammer space marine for 360 but it was marked 19.99 so i might as well scan it since i'm here and it came down to 11.95. i know it can get cheaper but it was the only one left so i just bought it anyway. is the game any good?
 
I just went to a target that had medieval moves for 11.98 with the 70 in the top right corner, meaning it wont go any lower.

But I know nothing about the game and decided against it especially since Amazon has it for 12 dollars anyways.
 
Today i got DSi xl pink mario bundle. When it was scanned, it was out of system, so no price, but employee gave it to me at $85, the last clearance price shown on hand scanner, even though it has $120 sticker on it.

No, I think they actually get donated to someplace like Goodwill if they don't sell at 70%. Some holiday items go down to 90% off, but I've never seen a game go down that far.

I don't think they get marked down further. There as been a set of wireless vizio headphones at my local target for over a month at the same online item price.

Online items can get marked down further.. I bought a canon sx260hs for $120 and original price is 349.. the starting online price was 280 then 180 and finally 120.. the camera was released in february 2012 and some local targets actually carry stock of it..

The Touchcharge kits that are in every Target has gone to 85% off... It has to do with how much stock is left once they've sat at 70% for a while.

I bought PotC: At World's End for 360 and am second guessing the purchase. It was only $7.xx and was marked down from $29.99 but was listed as an Online Item. It was around 75% off I think is the math on that. All it said on the receipt was "same item only if open".

Just feel that price might be too high for a game that's 4yrs or so old and isn't that great to begin with.

Anyone want to convince me to keep it?

It's Pirates of the Caribbean. That alone warrants keeping it. And it's the best movie out of the trilogy, so the game is definitely worth it.
 
Been stalking for weeks and FINALLY they dropped the PS3 games to 11.98 just recently or whatever and I picked up Puss N Boots. The game had a 70 in the corner so I know its not getting any cheaper and this is still going for $20 or more everywhere so I figured its a good pickup. Its worth noting that I just got a brand new Carnival Island for $10 shipped on ebay, technically cheaper than what Target is charging. I did notice some of the other items that were 15% off in other departments went to 30% off based on the small number in the corner. Surprisingly the gaming section didn't seem too cleaned out from last week's sale which I didn't get to unfortunately. Tales of the Abyss was still $39.99 as I happened to pass by the section where it was.
 
Picked up the Vita Travel Pouch for 5.98 and also a few of the Apple AV Adapters for 19.98! :D

You just reminded me, I need to get an adjustment on that pouch. Can you provide some pointers? I asked to change my method of payment a few days back and the rep refused saying it isn't allowed on clearance items.

For the first time at Target, I saw it last week. It was never there before. I don't own a 3DS, but tempted to get it if it were clearance.

It isn't allowed on as-is and online items. It IS allowed on clearance items. You should go back and tell them. If they still refuse, talk to the manager. It's definitely allowed.

Glad you put it back because my husband wanted to play another game and we really don't have the funds at the moment to spend a bunch.

(The camera on the receipt was out of money set aside for my site, but looks like it's going back since as I say, it's crap!)

Not to throw a kink in anyone's theory of "70% is as low as it goes", but last week I found Singularity for PS3 for $6.05 and marked reg price $39.99 on the clearance sticker. Not sure why, just saying it's apparently possible. It didn't last long, though, as I flipped it to Best Buy for $12 with their 50% trade bonus promotion yesterday.

well, it depends on the starting point of clearance price.
If it starts at 30% off, then, yes, 70% is the end, but 15% is the first, then 50% is the end point.
So, target has this general rule. (Sometimes I saw 65%, 80%, 85%, or 90% as the final discount, but it is very rare)
5% - 15% - 30% (some high-end tvs)
15% - 30% -50% (GPSs and other high-end tvs)
30% -50% -70% (other electronics, games, and others)
 
Went to two seperate Target stores today:

First store:Wii EA Sports Active NFL Training Camp for $3.xx
Wii Def Jam Rapstar for $2.xx
3DS Hollywood Crimes game for $11.xx
Second store: 360 Ace Combat: AH for $11.xx

The second store had a lot of games on the clearance shelf that weren't there a few days ago. But after checking the price scanner and having the empolyee check it turns out they weren't actually on clearance and were misplaced even though some have been reported on here as marked down.

And it seems the price of Jurassic Park has dropped to $19.xx.

Unfortunately it would appear that Target is putting it's non full MSRP($59.99) games on the clearance endcaps if they run out of room in the plastic prisons. I saw a copy of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition (MSRP $39.99) on the endcap there last month sometime, as well as copies of the prior year Madden game for PS3 before they hit the clearance cycle.
 
Saw a dozen or so Glee Season 1 on blu on the clearance endcap at the La Cienega Target marked Online Item for $12.36.

The number under the UPC on the sticker is 988030583926631558 - Was $49.19 Now $12.36

The endcap was full of junk PC games; some guy was filling up a cart full of them LOL.

The video games clearance section was located like 6 aisles away from the rest of the videogames. It was at the endcap where luggage was.

I don't know, but this guy went from filling up one of those handbaskets full of the PC games, to going and getting a shopping cart. I looked at what he was pulling and it was Jeopardy and all sorts of crapware. Perhaps he has a booth/space at a flea market/swapmeet.

Yeah, he's obviously a reseller. Probably reduced from 10 to 2.50. He sells them for 5 bucks and makes little profit. Obviously he's not a hugely successful business man, but they scrape the bottom for every penny.
