Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

For example:

:ps3:
Random Game $4.98 [123-45-6789]

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

New link to search for items using Targets online item #: Find In Store

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

]

You just got...EL HOARDO'D!

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
I appreciate you wanting privacy, but I guess I don't see the harm in just letting them see your ID. What loss of privacy are you concerned about? Perhaps I just don't care that people might see my address or know my DOB. Those things are pretty easy to find online if they really wanted it for some reason. I just feel like when I refuse on simple things like that, it just makes me look like a jerk or a problem customer and the only ones I would be affecting (giving a hard time) are the people who don't make the rules (cashier or manager) and have little to no control over it.

Maybe i'm just a sellout to the man.
The government is after them, the whole world and just being outside is no longer safe. The government is monitoring everything even your internet. The only way to stop this is to :censored:.
Now in some cases they ARE tracking you. Like at WalMart when you make returns without receipts they're tracking you to make sure you're not just scamming them on a regular basis. Same thing at pharmacies when they scan it, they are tracking you to make sure you're not buying massive amounts of drugs to sell and/or use to breakdown to make more serious drugs.
I know alcohol is tracked in some areas, so stores can't sell to certain people, such as ones on probation. For games, the stores might just add it to the checkout process to put the liability on the workers.
Not finding any clearance at my stores, other than some stuff in the garden section (grass seed and solar lights). Been on a pretty long drought:cry:
Don't know if you are a home owner, but I bought ez seed and weed killer (the kind you use via a spreader) last year dirt cheap. So even though it's not games, the lawn and garden stuff can be valuable.

Target's system just won't allow a cashier to continue on with the sale unless they get a scan of the ID. It literally locks them out until you do so. It used to allow the cashier's just to punch in numbers, but not anymore. It is only looking at the DOB, btw, so you hyperparanoid people need to just relax...

If you have paid with anything but cash only, they already know all your information. A lot of the bigger stores are that way. Target is just one of the better ones at it. They just want to make sure you are you. And maybe tell you that you are pregnant before even you know. :D

Same here, I've gotten great deals on grass seed, OFF Clip On refills, citronella fluid, a charcoal grill, weed killer, etc etc.

Headed back from Orlando now, and we've got this 39" Westinghouse that I scored yesterday morning from the local Target there 40% off, down from $350($200). We were on vacation, but I couldn't leave it there because we were in the market for a new tv too. 008-09-0732.

Yeah, last year I got a nice garden hose for $5. Considering the cheaper ones are $15-$20 it was a great deal.

Also, it's getting around the time that fans can be found cheap too. I still have my $8 clearanced Holmes oscillating tower I got like 3-4 years ago.
When buying Black Ops at Sears the guy asked my birthdate... I'm 26.. I look 26!!!!

Gave him the wrong month & day on purpose. Paid with cash so it doesn't matter.
I never understood stores that did the system in this way. They need to verify you're old enough to buy the game but don't require that you present an ID to prove it. Kind of a flimsy policy that seems more to waste time and potentially upset women particularly sensitive about their age, but I guess it's the bare minimum they have to do so the sensitive types in the general public can feel more secure or something.

And my local Target still sucks with clearance. Only decent thing I saw was the return of the Secret Files games on DS.

Saw 3 or 4 Unchated 3 Collectos editions for 49 up in Indiana. Southport Rd I think its called. Passed since I got it for 17 at GS yesterday:)

Target in Memphis, Tennessee had 8 copies of Kingdom Hearts three five eight over two days for $1.59 a week ago. They were all gone by the time I got there today, but I figured I'd mention it so people could look out for them elsewhere

Jesus, if you don't like the ID policies of Target, why do you shop there?

Let me start punching you so you can tell me how good it feels when I stop...
I demand a manager come over. Target doesn't need to scan my ID and they have no right to the information contained there. Corporate policy doesn't trump my right to privacy.
Anyway, grabbed Mario Part 8 for $14.98 for my daughter for Xmas.
Being a Target electronics employee, people like you provide the most entertainment and also look like an asshole. Make a huge deal over nothing then get mad at the cashier when they have absolutely no control and don't care that you're 90 years old, the system requires us to do it and there's no way around it. Most managers will do their job right and still have to look at your ID for the birthday before they even punch in their supervisor number. Also other customers hate the person doing this because if there's a line and it's in electronics, someone has to walk from the other side of the store and it takes a few minutes just because they won't remove their tinfoil hat, it wastes everyone's time.

I promise you, it's not the government, they're not going to find out where you live and mail you stuff, and they're not going to track that purchase, it's strictly to pull off the date.

Waited a day and still got some drops.

207 26 0672 Wii FlingSmash with Wii remote plus $14.98.
207 20 0449 PSP Invizimals Shadow Zone $11.98.
207 20 0424 PSP Ghost Recon Predator $5.98.
207 20 0428 PSP ModNation Racers $5.98.

The FlingSmash package was still tagged $24.98 but rang up $14.98. I got the last copies of Ghost Recon and ModNation Racers. After getting the items from the case a guy stopped the clerk and said he needs some games from the case when he was done. He then looked down at the stack he was carrying and added "if there are any left". I Imagine he was wanting the PSP stuff also. One item I didn't get was Michael Jackson: The Experience $5.98, so I'm sure he had the chance to grab one of those. ;)

My fling smash bundles are unmarked and sitting in with the skylanders. They scanned @ $14.xx but I'll chance it by waiting a week given the location

$14.98 is 70% off, doubt it goes lower and they will probably be donated soon.

While I realize being a Target electronics employee is somewhere near the level of NASA scientist in terms of technical know-how, you'll pardon me if I don't want to take your word for it. The fact of the matter is, I don't know or care what information Target takes with their scan. I only know what is contained in the strip on my license and that freely allowing access where none is required is foolish. While I am sure Target is an impenetrable fortress of integrity and security, and that they would NEVER use my information to, I don't know, MAKE MORE MONEY, there is no law requiring I let them have it so I don't. I didn't allow Walmart greeters to see my reciept and I don't allow Target (or anyone else) to scan my ID. Frankly, I am at a loss as to how so many people have come to accept these little indignities so matter of factly. So no tin foil hat here, I just like to piss people off. You, and any customers who get upset at my refusal, can eat a bag of dicks. A big bag of dicks.

As much as I want to call you a conspiracy theorist target was a pretty early pioneer in data harvesting of their customers.

This story made me chuckle, and is relatively new, but this has been going on for a long time:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmir...teen-girl-was-pregnant-before-her-father-did/

Even if they don't store your ID information (i doubt they do, it's probably quasi-legal), they definitely track all kinds of stuff about you based on other factors. All retailers do now.

If you've ever used a debit or cc, this is already out there. They'll simply cross reference the name from your CC purchase with address databases and voila. It's nearly impossible to avoid being "tracked" at retailers.

The fact is that many policies that stores have, such as checking your receipt at the door and checking ID, are measures to control costs and improve efficiency. Believe it or not, that has a benefit to consumers. I am not going to sit here and tell you that Walmart and Target are only looking out for our best interests and just want to help the consumer, but consumers do see a benefit. I don't mind some extra hassle (within reason) if it helps keep prices down.

Also, if someone prefers to pay higher prices at stores who don't have these efficiency and cost cutting measures so they can enjoy their privacy, I don't fault them at all.

Employee theft is by far the biggest cause of shrinkage in retail, so I am sure you support a strip search for employees every time they leave the store, right? After all it controls costs and improves efficiency and is a benefit to consumers.
For me, I prefer to pay lower prices and do what I can to make sure these practices are curtailed. You do know that Walmart no longer checks reciepts at the door, don't you? That's because people like me complained until they had no choice but to change the policy.
You're welcome.

To the thread: got a 39" Westinghouse 1080p LCD for $199.98 yesterday. Would have liked to wait for one more markdown, but it was the last one.

Aren't you contradicting yourself just a wee bit there? You prefer to do what you can to keep prices low and curb theft... But you apparently kept complaining about having people check your receipt?

Trying to insult someone because of their job is incredibly pathetic. I'm sure since you're so busy worrying about someone carding you and wanting to look like an asshole that you forget that most people working in retail are either in school or there until the economy gets somewhat better.

@fujimitsu
In the article it even states that they get the information from credit cards and not IDs.

Let me get this straight: you can call me names but get your panties in a bunch when I, correctly, point out that your job gives you zero insight into what information Target might glean from the IDs it scans? Hypocritical much? I wouldnt go to a janitor for health advice even if he worked at the hospital.

@ JKsonic: There's no contradiction. I want low prices, and I want to be treated as what I am: a paying customer. That I search for bargains doesn't make me unworthy of respect. The idea that I should expect less service/poor treatment because I shop for low prices is anathema to me. It should be for you as well.
uh, that's ratchet and clank all 4 one. not the collection.
Damn your right, I just looked at the cover my bad. Better cancel my order now then.

Well, it's kind of weird because when I clicked on that link, the title was indeed All 4 One, but the cover image was the Ratchet & Clank Collection. Also, I noticed below that, there was a link to the All 4 One game page. So it's just a little weird and misleading.

I would probably still cancel that order, though.

You claim I have zero insight like as if you know that I don't? This is one of the things I've talked about with an STL (Store team lead, has stock options, goes to meetings about this stuff) so I know that they're only pulling the date off when they scan the ID for video games. It's more of you who has zero insight on what they do with the information in that case. I'm not sure if it is name calling anymore if you're a self proclaimed asshole.

Also to add to the thread, my store seems to be phasing out the PSP games in bunches, they put up Michael Jackson's the experience, Invizimals 2, and a couple others for 9.98 or less.

I hear that the grocery cart handles collect your fingerprints and a DNA sample that goes straight to Homeland Security. :)

On a lighter note, I saw the following today at a Tampa area Target:

Hawx 2 for Wii $5.98
2010 FIFA World Cup for PS3 $8.98
Red Faction Armageddon for Xbox 360 $8.98
A few different PSP games including ModNation Racers, Cars 2, and others for about $6 each.
Lastly, Halo Reach Limited Editions that were strategically placed in a locked case with the sticker only visible enough to tell it was clearance. If I had to guess it may have been $20. Didn't feel like tracking someone down to check. Also, it's an "M" rated game so there would have been the whole license thing... :)

I picked up a couple of $15 Flingsmashes to replace my current Wii remotes. I'm not entirely sure why, since it only matters for me for Skyward Sword. I guess my thought is that any WiiU games that would support remotes would likely require motion plus as well.

I didn't see anything else on clearance that hasn't already been mentioned.

You know it's because dumb and lazy employees don't know how to type in a few numbers, right? "So let's have them just swipe it, can't forget how to do that" Look at a fast food cash register.

The movie Idiocracy is a prophecy!

They also do it to cover liability issues. Target cares so much about getting sued that they put in all of these "rules". You can't help a guest if you're clocked out and trying to leave the building, you can't talk to anyone about anything work related while off the clock, mainly executive team leads, store team leads, and department team leads. If a guest asks an employee to open their watch (to see the watch battery), asks them to help them put minutes onto their pay as you go phone, really anything that requires you to touch their property, you are not allowed to do it, you have to tell them no, because if you do that and you break it or they go home and claim "oh the employee broke it!" then Target is liable and the employee gets in trouble. One of my favorite examples of Target being so afraid of being sued, apparently if someone goes through our trash compactor and there's a defected bike in there and it's no properly taken apart, if the person takes it home, fixes it up, and they get hurt on the bike, killed on the bike, whatever, Target can get sued for it.

Target at umm whatever mall this is in Springfield PA had an end cap with clearance crap. Red Faction Armageddon for $8.86 and some Kung Fuu panda 2 wii game for $5.

I don't think you understand how deep the STLs are into the store? These are people making 160k a year, have stock meetings, have meetings informing them how ALL OF THESE THINGS WORK, of course, now you're trying to comment on something you know absolutely nothing about and have no insight on, thus making you the hypocrite.

Just saying from experience, not fueling the debate; if they type it in (which they can), it requires a manager to "verify". Happens to me every time because my strip is used and abused. Swyping it requires me manager.

Irrelevant to the conversation but wanted to state the facts. And i do agree with you about idiocracy!!
Jesus, if you don't like the ID policies of Target, why do you shop there?

160k a year.....this is a manager? in retail? or is this a person who is in charge of many stores...... No manager in any retail is making 160k...... Apple steals managers from target does not pay their leads 50% of that......

160k?!?!?!

I'd like to comment on the issue of Target checking ID's and people complaining about it. I also find it incredible unnecessary to scan my drivers license. It's unnecessary because as a military member I've given my military ID countless times and never had an issue. I also agree with the poster about not letting employees search my bags to make sure I didn't steal anything. I don't allow them to search my car before I leave the parking lot. I also find it disgusting that people in hopes of not offending anyone belittle those who choose not to allow that free flowing of information. It has nothing to do with having something to hide or being an "asshole" it's about protecting ones privacy. As for customers being angry behind someone in line because of an extra few minutes to bad. I'm in line longer because of the older person who has to pay with a check and chooses not to write it until the last minute or the person with five kids trying to wrangle them up I don't flip out or complain about having to walk across the store to check out at a different location. But I get it corporate policies trump privacy.

There are different levels of managers from Target. The standard, hourly ones which is what most people have experience with. ETLs who are making anywhere from 60k-90k a year depending how long they've been there, they're the executive team leads. Then there's the Store Team Lead, who has little interaction with the guests, they're the ones who run everything, deal with the DM, and make decisions for the store, etc. They're the ones that make the big money. ETLs and STLs require college degrees.

Looked it up to make sure, STLs make between 95k - 175k a year including length of time you've been there, salary bonuses for the store reaching certain goals, stock, etc.

Hypocrite: : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings

You getting all huffy trying to claim I'm making comments based on something I have no insight on. You, trying to make comments on something you have zero insight on. Hypocrite.

I can also confirm what he is saying as I am a target employee as well and also work in the electronics area.Executive team leads do require a college degree so its not just a simple "they are managers in a retail store".They require a form of higher education so they are not simple managers. He is also correct that STL makes well over 100k per year.
