Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Store I went to must've been picked through. A lot of crapola titles I don't care for.

Wanted Monster Tale for $5, but it's $9.98. Maybe it'll go cheaper next week. Hell, even TRON was holding at $14.98. Pfft.

Found a XB360 Borderlands GOTY (with tokens as opposed to GOTY with content on disk) for $8.98 which I bought.

Saw Bioshock XB360 ($7.48), Bioshock 2 XB360 ($9.98), Split/Second XB360 ($9.98) and Blob 2 XB360 ($9.98) and tons of Hunted Demon Forge XB360 for $14.98.
anyone know what this is about? did this happen to any CAGs?

http://www.mercurynews.com/action-line/ci_19361383
just looking at target.com, it does say next to the price - online price. Then it blanks that out and says available in stores. The product may be available in stores, but Target has never matched their online site, so it doesn't really matter anyways, as well as clearnace is YMMV by store. So whoever submitted that isn't the brightest, and is probably a whiner too. oh well.

not too be negative, but it really isn't that hard to understand why it wouldn't go through/they wouldn't accept it. They won't even price match the $4 difference b/w the website price and store site of an ipod, so why would they do so with a large price difference on a game?

edit: as well as why would they buy UC2 goty used for $28, when it retails for $29? worst choice ever to consider anyways.

Yeah it's not bait and switch, I think most of the time people who claim it happened to them don't even know what it really means.

2 years ago my family went to BBY to get an advertised laptop for $399. They didn't have any out and the employee told us we didn't want it and tried to get us to buy a more expensive laptop. When we said we wanted the cheaper laptop, he said there were none out and they had them in the back but we shouldn't buy it. To me that is bait and switch since they baited us with the cheap laptop and didn't want us to buy it and didn't even have them out for sale. We went to Costco instead.

In this case, it would be Target saying she didn't want Uncharted 2 for $5.98 and didn't have it out for sale (if it really was $5.98 in store)and she should buy Uncharted 3 for full price instead

After finding next to nothing at a couple of stores earlier this week, I hit the mother lode this morning. Picked up Tomb Raider Trilogy, PoP HD Trilogy, Hunted: Demon's Forge, NBA Jam, Bioshock 2, Red Dead Undead, and a couple other games I'm forgetting, all for the lowest prices listed ($10 or less).

Passed on a bunch of stuff that wasn't as cheap as reported (Contra 4 for $7.48 - already have it but would have picked up copies as gifts - Monster Tales for $9.98, as well as bunch of $17.xx and $20.xx games), but I did pick up a the last 2 copies of Dragon Quest VI...for $17.48 unfortunately. All stores near me show it as unavailable/sold out.

So I called around to the various Targets around me to get price checks on it, and one of the stores has it on clearance for $17.48 with 5 copies in the system but they can't find any. Thus, I'm hoping it will drop to the $10 price (or lower) in the coming weeks, allowing me to attempt return/rebuys.

I picked up some more good stuff:
:360: Marvel Super Hero Squad: Infinity Gauntlet 207 22 0557 $8.98
:360: Split/Second 207 22 0459 $5.98
:360: Rango $8.98
:360: Triple Pack Trials/Limbo/Splosion Man $8.98
:360: Tron 207 22 0527 $8.98
:360: Harry Potter 7, Part 1 $5.98
:ps3: Rango $8.98
:ps3: Harry Potter 7, Part 2 $8.98
:360: Triple Pack Trials/Limbo/Splosion Man $8.98
that's a weird price. is that the new 70% off? as I just picked up the pack for 7.48.

Target on Victory and Lankershim, CA has 3 shelves stacked with clearance games. I didn't have time to take any pics or get DCPI but off the top, here's what I saw.

Hunted ps3 and xbox 360 - $13.98
Create 360 - $4.98
Bioshock 2 - $9.98
Trials triple pack - $13.98
Castlevania PS3 - $19.99
NCAA 11 360 - $8.98
Tony Hawk Shred with board (1 left) - $24.98
Kinect Harry Potter -$19.99
R.U.S.E - 360/ps3 - $13.98
Hawx 2 (1 left 360) - $13.98

...And tons of Wii games, PS2 memory cards, DS games and a few 3DS games.

If you're near the area, I suggest you hit it up. There may be some gems in there that I missed.

3ds
Petz Fantasy $8.98 / 207 02 1309

Cubic Ninja $8.98 / 207 02 1328
--------------------------------------------
PS3
Ratchet & Clank Future:A Crack In Time $8.98 207 24 0290

Castlevania L.O.S. $11.98(was $27.98 interesting drop...) 207 24 0415
---------------------------------------------

X360.... Found it odd that Bioshock 2 was 5.xx and Bioshock was 7.xx.

This year's winter clearance at Target is turning out to be pretty damn good. I haven't seen Alice yet (and I assume the "Shadows" game was Shadows of the Damned?) but I will keep an eye out.

The one store nearby that couldn't give me a price check on DQVI because their system was down, and which had ZERO clearance section the other day when I was there, just told me DQVI is in their system at $8.xx!!! Gonna attempt return/rebuys shortly!
I just needed a second one and wanted one that was long enough that I didn't have to sit 2 feet from the tv!

Just curious if I overpaid for a USB cable. The Sony PS3 one I saw was $10
You might check the Sears clearance, I think I found some awhile back for about $3-$4.

got naruto shippuden clash of ninja revolution 3 for 4.48. hopefully some of the other games i saw, like dragon quest 6 will drop by monday.

Holy cats that's a good find! Must've been buried in the stockroom somewhere.

I think 75% off is being replaced with 70% off. Even in the clothing department, the sign said 70% off even though some clearance was 75% off there and I think all new clearance will now only go to 70% off. On another site someone who has a family member working at Target said corporate told the stores to throw out the 75% off signs and replace them with 70% off signs so I think it is likely. In addition, Halloween and seasonal clearance was 50% then 75% off then 90% off. This year there was no 75% off, just 70% off and then it went to 90% off. The candy stopped at 70% off which is another reason I don't think there will be 75% off anymore.
Went to Target and literally saw nothing. I expected it though, I never saw this Target had anything on clearance.
My local store was like that for two months. The clearance rack had all random nonsense, t-shirts and CDs. Now there's 100 or so games stocked this week, though unfortunately ALL of it is shovelware and highly prices $13+. Nothing is less than $10 and there are no good games (Prince of Persia trilogy, etc). Unfortunately I've been told a local pawn shop has someone go around to the stores and buy up all of their clearance deals, which if true (and it seems to be as I NEVER get a clearance deal), that's completely fucked up.

Target in Copaigue also had an entire endcap filled w/ clearance games and I also noted the odd $8.98 price point on one of the games. Nothing caught my attention except Castlevania which was still $20, maybe I should have scanned it but I was rushing. Didn't see PoP trilogy but they had the Tomb Raider trilogy on PS3. High Velocity Bowling was still hanging in there at $4.98. There was even 1 shovelware looking 3DS game, the first time I've seen one of those on clearance.

Anyway it was a lot of games for a Friday afternoon so I'm pretty sure they weren't still there since the usual Monday clearance.

Ugh, two shops in Northern Virginia (Gainesville, Chantilly) are only doing 30% on most of the Xbox titles. Got several DS games that were 50% though.

At Target in Columbia, MO:
Picked up Bulletstorm (Epic ed) for $14.xx.
Also some fun t-shirts for $2.48 ea. They had one with Sonic, another with Nintendo characters, and others with Marvel characters, Coke, beer, etc.

@ Long Beach CA on Cherry - 3 copies of Bioshock for $7.xx, 1 copy of Bioshock 2 for $10.xx
@ Lakewood - 2 copies of Bioshock 2 for $7.xx

They had a bunch of other games for under $10 but Bioshock 2 was the best of the bunch. It's weird that one target had it @ $7.xx and the other at $10.xx. I bought two copies, one for myself and one for a xmas present for my nephew.

Last night I picked up Ghostbusters (Wii) and Bioshock (360) for $7.48 in Muncie, IN. They had Bioshock 2 for $10.48, but figure I should play the first one before I decide to get the second one. They had quite a few games on clearance. Mostly PS3 games though.

Was at the Willoughby Hills Target today. Saw a ton of games on clearance including Ghostbusters (Wii) and Bioshock (Xbox) for $7.48. Also saw Bulletstore Extreme edition and regular edition for ($20.xx). They had a dragon quest game for DS for $24.xx along with a whole bunch of other games. Nothing for me though.

Seeing the prices in this thread make me sad - I work at Target and none of my local stores have their games down to the prices listed here. For example, Bioshock is still $10.48 at both of 'em and they seem to get rid of any unsold clearance games in two weeks instead of further marking them down. They also, for some reason, set new clearance prices on Wednesdays instead of the usual Mondays I hear about on here.

You see, I work early morning flow team (meaning I work at 3:30 AM on truck days) and often get first dibs on stuff like this (since none of my coworkers seem to give a damn about anything other than BF/CoD games) but the prices here have never been better than, say, Amazon, even with my employee discount.

Hate you guys.

Yes,i can't resist the shirts on clearance there,i got a Mortal Kombat,Voltron for me,and an X-Men shirt for my bro-in-law.Kinda makes up for me not finding any games, lol.

Which section are the shirts in? If they're in the gaming section, I must have over looked them. Are they in a certain box/packaging? I got a hot pink Beatles shirt, near the games, a while back. If I remember correctly, it was packaged in a box.

That's possible, but I am still getting non gaming items at 75% off. We will know for sure when the next clearance cycle starts.

I picked up the following today:

:ps3: Tomb Raider Trilogy - $8.98
:360: Bioshock 2 - $7.48
:ds: Blue Dragon Plus - $4.48
:ds: Contra 4 - $4.48 (I already have this but I got it for my wife's cousin)

No copies of PoP. I would have loved to get that.

Ahh.. I see. Maybe, if I get back to Target, any time soon, I can grab some and rearrange them into gamer-girl, booby cleavage shirts! :D

Thanks!

Thanks for the DPCIs! I was hoping to pick up POP, but none of the stores near me have it. Oh well, it's still cheap on amazon.
