Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

All the items are 50% off. Mario Plusie backpack is $9.98 at my store. I picked up the Monopoly myself.

Here's the chess set *set up*. I brought it awhile back from FYE for 35. Mines came in a steel case tho, unlike the one at target.

Saw these in Fenton, MO as well. These were not with the normal clearance, they were in the seasonal section with all of the "let's be Sam's/Costco" extra large quantity stuff. They had a gaming section in the back of it that had these Move titles and the Mario stuff.
I've never seen a single copy of the Starcraft II CE at any of the Targets I've been to. Not even at normal price.
Fenton, MO had them at launch, then about two weeks ago the two copies I mentioned last week suddenly appeared. I think probably an employee stashed them and they were found and put back on the shelf.

If you live in a metro area, Target is a good place to get the Blizzard CE's. I often see them in a random Target long after launch day.

my target has done the whole redisign of the gaming dept. All the games are now locked behind those clear bins. There is no longer a clearance isle and no games have stickers anymore like they used to. How is everybody else finding out if these games are clearanced aside from heading to the store with 50 print outs of upc codes.

I hope Targets around here start doing that :)

I tried using barcodes once but didn't like to hunt them down so I just save them in my notes on my phone, and punch them in on the scanner.

fwiw that trades for 2x that at amazon if you're interested. I assume by the funky price that was an online item?

I was eyeing that chess set -- but it bothered me that they had Luigi as the queen, and not Peach.

Considering Peach has two different outfits, just swap out Luigi for a knight.

(Shouldn't Yoshi be the knight since he actually gets ridden?)

(On second thought, so does Peach.)
Considering Peach has two different outfits, just swap out Luigi for a knight.

LOL

I think the other character is Daisy, not Peach.

I can confirm that the Super Target in Fishers, IN has The Fight for $19.99. Strangely, it, The Shoot, and Mel B were not on display... This target has the shitty new display with the locked cases and I could not locate either of the three games in the VG aisle or the clearance ends. When I asked if they had it in stock, both employees noted the "clearance team" was in yesterday as they went to the back room. Regardless, thanks to whomever mentioned this.

Next week ill have to think about gettin The Shoot or at the very least try to locate their other clearance sections.

On a side note, they also had one copy of the Black Ops Prestige @ 127.

Saw Mel B on clearance for 19.98, and Naughty Bear 360 for $12.48(Plenty of copies, if anyone is looking for one for cost+shipping I'll pick one up for them). Besides that nothing new that hasn't been posted before. Really hoping those Black Ops Collectors go down in price, I know someone who would love it.

The copies I saw were still in the seasonal section where they were originally for sale. (with the exercise stuff, next to the Nintendo games and bulk products). Noticed the pens and packing tape have started to clearance. Still haven't used all the tape I bought last year at 75% off.

Any White Knight Chronicles?

I don't think I have ever found a clearance game at Target. My Target either doesn't do them or they go extremely fast.

For you guys upset about the game department redesign and trouble finding clearance items, when my Target in Tampa converted they where also mixing the clearance in with the regular crap in the cases. I hated it. I'm not sure if they got complaints or it just ended up being easier, but after about two months they returned to the endcap/dedicated clearance section. So there's hope.
I was eyeing that chess set -- but it bothered me that they had Luigi as the queen, and not Peach.
Oh man I would LOVE to have that chess set.

Or the Monopoly set.

Are there codes to these or did I miss them?

fyi, amazon also sells the chess set in the metal tin, and it was ~$27 last week, keeps changing. The one at target is in a cardboard box, and at least at mine, was pretty banged up. I think the cardboard version has a newer date printed on it, so maybe they ditched the tin design this year. I wondered why they kept those nintendo things in the back of the store. Are they really surprised they didn't sell well hidden back there?

Here's hoping Mario Monopoly and Mario Yahtzee are still available at my store. I've been eyeing them since they first arrived but couldn't convince myself to buy them at regular price. I knew their clearance cycle would come but not this fast...

They were actually all on sale the past couple weeks, but for ~33% off as a 'temporary price cut'. My stores seemed to get a lot more monopolies in, but I think the yahtzees sold out at $10.

I don't get the clearance system. Bayonetta for PS3 has been on clearance for about four or five months at my Target and it is still sitting at 41.98. So frustrating...

I just got somewhat lucky. Wanted to get my girlfriend a Yoshi backpack for Valentine's Day. Last week there were probably 20 of Mario and Yoshi each. Today the entire Mario junk section was wiped clean, not even one stinkin' coin purse left and certainly no board games. Then I spotted something green stuffed behind the giant cheese puff containers. Sure enough it was the last backpack, only $7.98!

As far as games go, a few copies of :360: Iron Man for $10 and the same dang copy of :360: Bayonetta I've been waiting on, still at $30. That's the list price on Amazon (which is currently selling it for $16).

:wii: Depicable Me $14.98 at Sacramento Broadway location.

Picked up the last copy on the shelf there.

They also had the same Trauma Team game for the Wii that others are reporting.

The electronics clearance section at this store has sucked since pre-Xmas.

My store in Redwood City, CA had lots of copies of The Fighting Move game, The Shoot, and a few Mel B fitnesses all for $19.98. Trauma Center is also that price. Didn't get anything this week.

Picked up the CE of Starcraft 2 for $70, since it might not survive another drop. If it does, I'll just take it back and pick up the cheaper copy. I'd be thrilled at 50% off, but for only $10 more than normal, that's not too bad I suppose. We'll see, I'm still debating keeping it or not. I hate to spend so much on a game.

Stopped by the Target by my job and found:

:360: Bayonetta $14.98
:360: The Beatles Rock Band $7.48
:wii: Trauma Team $19.98
:ps3: The Shoot, The Fight, Get Fit w/ Mel B - $19.98
And a bunch of other DS crap

I might go back and get The Shoot & The Fight for when I eventually do get a PS Move. Wish they had Time Crisis Razing Storm on the cheap.

Anyone have the DCPI for the Mario Chess Set or Monopoly? I'd love to get my hands on those.

the chess set is:
207 00 1029

Target on Fulton in Sacramento got Get Fit with Mel B, The Shoot, and The Fight on PS3 for $19.96 each, my fiance picked up a Mel B, they also had a few Starcraft 2 CE's for the price people have been posting.

I wanted to get my daughter the Yoshi backpack for a trip we just took but that damn thing is useless for storing anything. You can probably fit a softball in the backpack and it would be full.

Just swung by one of my targets and it was fully stocked with the mario stuff, except no chess set. But they had at least 10 monopolies, 7 yahtzees, 20 puzzles, and tons of plushes/backpacks. I wouldn't be surprised if these hit 75% or 90%. Strange they started at 50% clearance.

Here are some of the dcpis:

mario chess $19.98?: 207001029
mario yahtzee $7.48: 207001031
mario monopoly $14.98: 207001032

I couldn't force myself to get the puzzle even at $4.98, it just looked so plain of a picture for a puzzle.

You beat me to posting =P Stopped by the Target I used to frequent. Found 2 copies of The Shoot (bought 1 of them), and one copy of Mel B (bought it too).

They had about 10 Mario Monopolies at $14.98, and about 8 Mario Yahtzee's (bought 1, they look pretty cool). No Mario chess, and no backpacks (though they could be somewhere else, I didn't have time to look). There were also 3 little Yoshi plushes, where his(?) back had a zipper that opened up, and it had a cleaning cloth or something.

Didnt see any type of Mario board game at my local Target. Seems like Trama center is holding at 19.xx at my local Target too, hoping for a drop next week

Look in the seasonal section where they currently have some "value" theme going on. Half the stuff in there went on clearance this week.

Is the chess board setup correctly? Why is Luigi the queen?

I wasn't aware of this until I opened it, but the Yoshi backpack holds very little. His saddle opens up and inside you can fit maybe a phone and a wallet. Not sure about the Mario backpack, but I figured I'd mention this if anyone's expecting it to be more utility than decoration.

Well it's not surprising. I mean it's essentially a doll on the back of some straps with a hole in the back.

What were people expecting?

I can assume people read "backpack" and expect something more. The doll's body itself could potentially have more room inside for storage. Just trying to be helpful.

I saw the Mario chess set but I thought it was a price-drop. Is it actually on clearance? If so I might have to check again and will definitely pick it up at 75% when I go to target next.

Last week was a temp price drop, now it's a clearance.

Not sure about your area, but my stores don't have any chess sets left anymore. You might want to snag one of those while you can if you want it. Probably won't make it to 75%. Or otherwise amazon has the tin-case version of it for a little more, no tax for most.
