Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
I was extremely tempted to pick Bayonetta for PS3 at that price but I already have a copy of it for the 360 so I'll let someone else pick it up. :)
Why? The PS3 version is so inferior - bad frame rate, poorer visual quality - that IGN had to put together a totally separate video review to cover the sucktasticness. It's like being tempted to buy spoiled meat because it's cheaper than fresh meat and you already have good meat in the fridge.

Ah I didn't realize there was THAT huge of a difference in the versions so thanks for the input.

Also... meat.... I want a steak.

I want Black Ops PE but for $104 nah kinda disappointed they didn't goto 50% this week but I am gonna keep an eye on it. The vehicle inside is alone worth how much?

Except that it's been patched and fixed for quite some time now.

So... Is it just the xbox 360 dante that is on clearence for 9.98? I have not found it on PS3 at any target.. and the Xbox360 version is regular price still... well... 19.99. Is this game really any good?

God of war clone for sure gameplay wise, but still pretty enjoyable. A steal at 10 bucks.

As far as I know it's the PS3 version that's on clearance. I found 3 copies at my Target but they scan for 19.99 so YMMV. If anyone sees Dante on clearance around Dearborn MI let me know.

60 frames per second, so it's smooth as silk. If you liked God of War games, you will like this too. Ignore the 7.5 or whatever that IGN gave it.

I don't know about all Targets, but the one in Brentwood, TN (Old Hickory Blvd) usually has two endcaps for cheap games; one is dedicated to clearance items and the other to 14.99/19.99 games. Clearance games wind up in the latter endcap occasionally out of carelessness or an attempt to hide them.

Point being, thanks to someone else's half-hearted attempts to hide Trauma Team, I got it for 9.98 :) woot.

But trust me, that place is almost barren right now.

Don't bother coming up North. The Rivergate store doesnt have any clearance games, and the Hendersonville store only has Iron Man 2 (psp).

I usually only hit Brentwood, Franklin, Hickory Hollow, and Spring Hill - but thanks for the heads up regardless!

Is DAOUE worth $34.98?

I have a version of the regular edition that I never played and wondered if the additional missions/levels were worth it.

Also, would the next mark down be to $19.98 if they survived?

Pacific Liberator $7.48
Cold Stone Creamery Scoop It Up! $7.48
ATV Quad Kings Bundle $9.98

Some of the DPCIs are still listed on Target's website. Anyway, these are what I scrounged up. Please confirm these are accurate.

241-24-0053 Call of Duty: Black Ops (Hardened)
207-26-0389 Little League World Series Baseball 2009
207-26-0623 ATV Quad Kings (Game & Custom Wheel)
207-26-0589 Pacific Liberator
DAOUE DCPI is 207-22-0545 for the :360:
That's listed in the OP.

I couldn't find the Cold Stone Creamery one. But I can tell you, I'm eating cold stone right now, because of this thread.

iirc 241 is the prefix for online items, not in store.

This is not the correct DPCI, it's 207-24-xxxx

The game I saw is NOT the 2009 edition. The correct DPCI is in the OP

Wow nice find on Black Ops. That thing is worth a pretty penny.

Tracked down a copy of The Fight and The Shoot between a few different stores for thereported 9.98 price. Now to try and find a deal on Move controllers.

Also found a couple of stores that started the DA:UE clearance at 34.98. Of course it happens after I had picked up a cheap copy of DA: O from a BBV sale. Gotta play thru it quickly to see if I'll want to try for the UE version.

The store that clearanced the Stratego board game dropped it down to 5.04 so I bought and returned the one I bought at 10.08. This store also put out more Mario Monopoly sets at 7.48 so picked up another set
Can someone post the correct dpci for call of duty black ops hardened edition neither of the ones posted work.
If nobody posts it by tomorrow night I will check on my store's PDA for it.

Hydro, I asked someone to post the DPCI for :360:Apache Air Assault some pages back but so far no one has it. Will you please look that up?

It's odd because buster90 is the only one that has found it clearanced in Dallas. I've asked a couple of guys in different stores, that have that PDA, to please search Apache Air Assault but nothing comes up :whistle2:k Crazy.

I'll give it a shot. I don't work until late tomorrow night, so hopefully I'll remember by then.

Thanks Hydro :D

Went to a local Target (Wheaton mall, MD) and saw the following if anyone is interested:

:360:
Bayonetta $14.xx (1 copy left)
Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition $34.xx (had 4 copies for each system)
The Beatles: Rock Band $7.xx (1 copy left)
Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition $105.xx (1 copy left)
Naughty Bear $14.xx (1 copy left)

:ps3:
Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition $34.xx

Nothing new to report from Tucson, AZ. $104.98 for Halo: Reach Legendary Edition (which Amazon has blown completely out of the water with their DOTD), and $54.98 for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 for both PS3 and 360. I might consider TFU2 if it drops to $30 or below but I doubt that'll happen.

My target has nothing at this point. If people are still looking for copies of Bayonetta Amazon has it for $15.59 for the 360.

Gamestop has been selling the Legendary Bundles in store for $59.99 for a long time now

went to Target this morning and they had a GT5 collector's edition for $70. Don't know what the package is actually called but it's the one with the model car included. Sorry didn't get the number for it....no pen and my phone had just died.
do you need two controllers for the fight?
i only got one =/
Yes, you need two move controllers for this. I lucked out and bought two move bundles on amazon. The first was $67 and the 2nd was $63.

Chantilly, VA had a pile of copies of the :wii: Cold Stone Creamery game for $7.49 if anyone's looking for that one. (WTF, who thinks it's a good idea to stock even one copy of that, let alone about 30 copies?) Other than that, the PS3 Move titles were all still $19.98 (doesn't matter, really, as none of them inspire me to buy a Move or even to just get them to keep on the shelf until I get one anyway).

Weird find of the day, though -- a blu-ray copy of The Bank Job marked "AS IS" for $3.76 (regular price $14.99). Still factory sealed, nothing visibly wrong with it (well, other than the fact that the movie itself isn't the greatest, that is). I have no idea why it was marked down so far. Not sure it's something I really needed to own, but for that price I couldn't pass it up.

That was my attitude when I saw it on sale for $5.50 at Amazon about a month ago, reviews for it were solid but I just haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

I've actually seen it already -- got it through Netflix when it first came out. It was decent enough, really, but not something I'm likely to watch again and again. Still, for the price, if I even watch it once I've probably gotten my money's worth out of it. I had briefly considered it when it was $5.50 on Amazon, but decided to pass; for under $4, though, as an impulse buy while I was there to pick up some random household stuff, it didn't seem like a bad purchase.

I went to my Target a couple hours ago and saw:
(prices approximate)

Force Unleashed 2 CE (2 :ps3: copies, 1 :360: copy left) - $55
Halo Reach Legendary Edition (2 copies left) - $105
Dragon Age Ultimate (About 5 copies left for both :ps3: and :360:) - $35
Some Dance Dance Revolution game for :wii: (1 copy, including dance pad and probably some other stuff) - $22
DJ Hero (1 copy for :360:) - $27

I also saw Final Fantasy Four Heroes of Light for :ds: in clearance. But the price checker showed $35, which is full price.

Other than that, nothing that really caught my attention.

I've held back on posting this, but Christmas season is long gone now, so that can't be it. Target clearance is dead (for games) here.

My normal Target end-isle rack hasn't had a video game in it since before Dec. Thumb drives, iPhone covers, heaters, Tai-bo videos, Assassin Creed: Brotherhood shirts, all right next to full price video game normal isles. I've found games in here before, even at $7.48 rarely.

My backup Target has actually taken away the clearance end-cap in electronics. Nothing is labeled clearance on normal video game isles. I just can't seem to find it anymore, I looked everywhere.

Is this normal for Target to have a 3~4 month dead period? Or am I just not looking hard enough to find the hidden clearance goldmine. Employees are not at all helpful saying that "clearance items are scattered throughout the store"

I used to go to one target that put the games in automotive for some reason

Yea same with my Local Target..I talked to a few Target associates and they all told me that they just put all their clearance together and nothing really has been to it for the past weeks...seems to be like a recovery mode from the holidays still lol

I am lucky enough to have 4 targets all within a 5 min to 20 min max radius from my house, plus 2 of them are right on my route to work (security probably thinks I'm either constantly stealing or plotting some heist I've been in there so much lately without buying stuff, just cruising the remote areas of the store for clearance displays). 2 of them have small clearance pusher racks below the plastic cage displays. It sometimes varies under which game system they will put the clearance stuff though. The other 2 have endcaps within the plastic cage aisles where they just dump the games. However the quantity of games at each varies widely, and there was a period around Christmas where some stores had practically nothing. In the past, the clearance videogames were sometimes on an endcap about 3 aisles down from the main electronics section. If you can confirm that your store is still selling common clearance games like Trauma Team or The Fight or Mel B at full price, then your store might just have a problem putting videogames on clearance, in which case we can only offer you condolences.

The DC probably sent a product that Target doesn't carry so the price change team basically makes a price for it. I guess in the end, do whatever it takes to help them make sales.

Sometimes I'd get stuff from Walmart in the back. There would be a random case of "Great Value" product and I'd chuckle and set it aside for reverse logistics to process.
