Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Wait, what's this about the dock? I thought you could have it plugged into the AC adapter and the tv out cables at the same time? If not that's a real drag.

edit: You have to have a 5V AC adapter to make the dock work? OMFG that is AIDS.
The dock is a piece of plastic that holds the PSP. It can be charged by either plugging in the PSP Go USB cable or the original PSP charger cable. Outside of charging your PSP and positioning, it has absolutely zero functionality what-so-ever. If you have a case it won't charge the PSP because it will push the "dock" part forward, erecting pegs that push the PSP away effectively disallowing it to fully plug in to the charger. As previously mentioned, if you use your Go USB cable to charge, you cannot use the TV out functionality with the dock. You also cannot use head phones while the PSP is plugged in.

What is it good for? Securing your PSP at an ideal viewing angle for sitting in front of it.
what tv was $32.48?
I believe they're talking about the 7" LCD tv that others have found on clearance. Both of my local stores had TONS of these in stock, but the last time I was to either one they only had a handful left.

If you can't find them on a clearance endcap, I'd suggest looking in with the GPS units in that case, as that's where they have them at at least one of the stores by me.

Not clearance necessarily but there is a new set of $14.99 endcap DS and Wii games at the front of the Target store near me. Most of them are crap but they did have The Price is Right 2010 Edition for Wii at that price.

Anyone in the Sacramento area seen Punch-Out! for under 24$ or Endless Ocean for under 14$? I checked the East Sac store and the Arden Store and Punch-out was 24 something at Arden and not in Stock at East Sac. Endless Ocean was 14 something at East Sac and not in Stock at Arden.

Arden also had a ton of Band Hero's and various Rockband Wii games if anyone was looking for them. East Sac was more or less barren, but that's probably to be expected since the store has only been open for like a month.

I just got back from the Target in my area (Warwick, RI). It was completely pointless. All of the Borderland and Prototype games for PS3 in Rhode Island were already purchased. I am so pissed right now. Every game that was left in clearance was $20+. The only game that looked even remotely interesting was Sin and Punishment for the Wii but I'm not dropping $24.98 for it.

My store has been worthless lately as well (Salisbury, MD). I also noticed at another store (Dover, DE) that they put all the PC clearance stuff (it was all gone but one PC game, so I'm assuming it was PC stuff only since they had console stuff left elsewhere) at 50% off.

They haven't had anything new for a long time. I got Brutal Legend for $5 on clearance about 6 months ago so not sure why that went UP in price, and they have some of those Reach packs for $3.xx now but all the t-shirts are gone and that's the only thing I'd buy anyway. They have tons of PS3 stuff but the prices are so high you could barely call it clearance.

GET SOME MORE 360 STUFF OUT!

I bought Tekken 6 for $7.48 for the PS3. The rest was all cleared out before I arrived (plenty before the Monday mark down). Oh well, you snooze, you lose.
How is Tekken 6? I saw it at my target but I'm not really big on fighters.
I didn't care much for the 1 on 1 arcade modes, but I enjoyed the Scenario Campaign mode which reminded me of old school brawler type games such as Streets of Rage. For less than $10 you could do way worse.
I saw 4 copies of Uncharted 2 GOTY on clearance for $20.
Can't imagine the GOTY edition would have gone on clearance already. Is it possible that the worker put the red tag on the wrong version of the game?

Yeah, there's no way that was correct. Uncharted 2 GOTY set at the clearance price of regular Uncharted 2 is definitely an employee fuck up, and extreme YMMV. I saw regular Uncharted 2 for $20.98 on the clearance endcaps at a couple of stores while they also had the GOTY version at the regular price in the game prisons.

Check the DCPI on the clearance tag...I bet it will match the regular version not the GOTY version.

Anyone seen the Borderlands for $7.48 at any Vancouver/Portland area targets? The MGS4 for $4.98 would be a great find too.

Found the Borderlands DLC disc at my local Target for $3.79. Good enough price to try both DLCs for it. There were other deals but nothing to major (they had tons of Dragon Age Origins at $20), still waiting for a few to drop. Silver Spring, MD store by the way.
Saw 3 Uncharted GOTY 19.xx at my target. They have been out of the regular version for 4-5 months.
Uncharted 2 GOTY for $19? There's no way, that just came out. Target is going insane now.

Although I did manage to track down a copy of RE5 Gold for $9.98(huzzah!). Also price of Rock Band 2 Special Edition for PS3 seem's to be $69.97 at 2 locations near me now. Although one is sold out and I had to check through the DCPI number.

^^Didn't realize it was a mistake...Now I have to go back and pick them up! For some reason I thought the GOTY was 29.99 on amazon a week or two ago (like Batman Arkham goty).

The clearance tag said regular 39.xx, so I was going to wait for the next drop. I saw them last night so they are probably gone by now.

My target was wiped out of anything worth mentioning. My brother told me that they had marked games down on Monday, but I wasn't able to go until today. Sad to say that the only things I saw were a bunch of DS games and a few PS2 games. I did price check via scanner NGS2, Borderlands, Beatles Rockband, Tekken 6, and they were all marked down to the current lowest prices. Oh well, not much I can do about it anyways.

Doubt whoever tries would get it. Since the game's DCPI number wouldn't match up, and since the discount is more than $25 it is supposed to require manager approval. Although if you try, you may get lucky and get it. Otherwise, chances are slim.

Wow even my local Target was well stocked in clearance games and this store is always bare. I didn't pick anything up since most of the stuff was the same things I saw at the store by my work yesterday but it might be worth it to check your local stores even if they didn't pay off in the past.

Almost picked up the PS3 version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for $14.98 but I passed.

They did have Oblivion GOTY for $19.98 but I already have it.

I think I'm gonna head out to the next closest one in a little bit and see how this one is doing.

I noticed this price as well...

Went to the Harlem, NYC Target and snagged 2 copies of Guitar Hero Van Halen for PS3 (DCPI# 207 24 0316) at 75% clearance for $12.48.

Also saw the PS3 Rockband 2 bundle (DCPI# 207 24 0147) at 30% clearance for $97.98.

Went to 4 different Targets today. All except one had a fairly nice clearance selection, but ALL of them were only at 30% off. Was pretty ticked about that  Won't even bother waiting for any drops seeing as people were already taking stuff at 30%, and it's about a 40minute drive to hit them all again. Oh well!

Saw these in Bemidji, MN today...

White Knight Chronicles $24.98
NBA Live 10 (PS3) $19.98
Bioshock (360) $10.48
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (PS3) $14.98
Blur $14.98
UFC 2009 $7.48
MAG $14.98
Iron Man 2 $9.98

There were a few more I cant remember plus a ton of DS and Wii shovelware.

My store (Spokane Valley, WA) had:

Tropico 3 :360: - 14.98
Killzone 2 :ps3: - 14.98

Sorry, I don't know the DCPI #s

I would've picked up Killzone 2, but I'm sure Amazon will match Wamart for $10 on BF.

Wow, they actually put stuff on clearance there for once? I used to go there about a year back. I don't recall ever getting anything on clearance there.

Picked up the PSP cradle for 7.xx
BL for 5
and that SW snowboarding game for 7.xx for my nephew.

This one Asian woman in this puke green shirt was grabbing all the cheap games ...then asked the idiot electronics guy if she could take them with her and continue her shopping, and the guy was like no you have to buy them here (in electronics). She then begged him and then he said ok you can take it to the front. Had the feeling that she was going to stash the games I followed her...and guess where she stashed them? In the toy section. Geez..

I guess you know where to find them when they drop...

saw a few copies of the borderlands DLC but it was 10 so I decided to wait and see if it drops more.

both my stores have a few RB2 Bundles at 69 but want them go to lower before i bite

went to target during lunch, no luck finding games marked at OP price. Saw LP2 but it was 27.xx which is way more than I want to pay for that game. Going to check another store after work hopefully they have these games and that they marked them down. RE5 gold @ $10 would be a killer deal for christmas gifts. Also on the look out for Army of Two 40th day as I have heard coop is good.

These clearances are usually found on a bin or something?
i mean, last time i went to my Target i did not see anything labeled "Clearance"
The video games section was normal and nothing unsual

how are you guys finding this stuff?

Everything is explained in the OP.

However, that said, you will almost always find the clearance videogames in 1 of 2 places. Either still in the prisons with the rest of the games (usually with red clearance stickers on the clearance games), or on shelves on an endcap (or two/three) somewhere near the video game prisons.

Usually it will be the far corner endcap, where an aisle wall comes out from the back of the store to separate the electronics section from the clothing or whatever other section is on the other side (usually it is the electronics aisle that contains DVD and Bluray players, radios, record players, and guitars). The other location is usually on the endcap of the aisle with the PC games on one side and random electronics related carrying cases and miscellaneous on the other.

Usually there will be a large red sign with white letters (or white sign with red letters) above the videogame clearance endcap stating CLEARANCE. You will know you've found it because you will find piles of video games, either in their little clear plastic security boxes or bare, and they will usually have red clearance stickers on them with various prices.
Saw this at Target, might make a good stocking stuffer.

Wii - GT Pro Series Racing w/wheel 4.98
That would have to be one fat stocking...

If I can fit coal into that stocking I can fit this!

I just picked up the last Classic Rock Track Pack for the 360 at my local Target.

They also had a few other things.

PGR4 $10
Dragons Age 360: $20
Dragons Age PS3: $15

Dragons Age PS3/360 here are $20.98 and at one of the Target I saw White Knight Chronicle for $34.98. And of course I couldn't get any of the 75% off games this week since mr. employee/el hoardo hoarded them as soon as monday hit. Man I missed the old time when I can wait til all games hit 75% off in target before I come pick it up >.> Get out of my town El Hoardo.

Never seen "aisle walls" separating different sections at a Target before - so, clearly, YMMV ;). Just about every Target I go to is a huge open rectangle with no internal walls.

But yeah. you just need to look around for clearance.

I was quite surprised that I was able to stroll into my closest Target late Tuesday evening and still score all of the following at 75% off: (all PS3 unless otherwise noted) Tekken 6, Borderlands, Scene It Bright Lights (360), Beatles RB, Street Fighter IV, Prototype, Table Tennis (360), Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Saboteur (360).

I think it helped greatly that they actually moved the clearance from one endcap to another but at the first endcap they left a ton of loose games that look like they might be clearance games but in fact are just a bunch of $19.99 stuff. Meanwhile the actual clearance was just on the very bottom of an endcap which otherwise had iPod accessories and the like. Probably, the more casual clearance shoppers would have missed them there.

I also picked up an iPad case for 75% off in case I decide to get one for the family for Christmas. I was surprised these were on the clearance cycle so quickly when there isn't a redesigned iPad out yet. For the iPods you usually have to wait till the next gen one is out to get a 75% off case for the older ones (which I did a few weeks ago - and for the older Kindle too).

Generally just go to the back wall in electronics and look around at the endcaps facing it. When you see some games piled up on an endcap with tons of random shit, you've found it.

No, that's when you remove the stashed items and leave a note to find the new hiding place;)

ahh like Geocaching? :whistle2:$

Went back to target and the 3 copies of Uncharted 2 GOTY were gone.

I hit another store in hopes of finding one and they had the second cover (with the "25 perfect review scores") of uncharted 2 (on clearance) and the GOTY were full price.

I did find borderlands ps3 for 7.48!

I saw a TON of games at my local Target.

:360:$15 for Tropico 3
:ps3: $27 for Uncharted 2

They also had a bunch of Fable 3 Collectors editions. No sticker on them but in the clearance section. I didn't check the price.

Picked up Sin and Punishment at the Target around here - was $24.98, didn't want to chance another drop (and this is price I was waiting for anyways.)

For anyone in the Tampa area, the Target at University Plaza (on Fletcher, near USF) has one left for $24.98.

They also have a bunch of Wii shovelware, Wolfenstein for the PS3 and Dragon Age for the PS3 - don't remember the exact prices.

If anyone in Tampa / Brandon has seen a cheap copy of Green Day Rock Band for the 360, let me know! It's originally why I went out to Target in the first place.
