Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Still waiting on 2 Fable 3 Collectors to go on clearance near me. They don't have them in the behind the glass, they are in the back.
 
My Target still has one of the Prestige Editions of COD black ops. Wasn't on clearance. I imagine it is still there due to the spider binding security device leaving dents in the box.

At The Waterfront in Pittsburgh, PA, saw :wii: Sin & Punishment for $24.xx and :wii: Resident Evil Darkside for $19.xx. Any Pittsburgh area CAG's seen these cheaper in the W. PA area?

I picked up Endless Ocean: Blue World bundled with WiiSpeak for $14.95 in the clearance endcap at the Los Banos, Ca. Target. What's really strange is that they had the game without the WiiSpeak for the same price. My brother who was with me thought they might've put the wrong price tag on there by accident, but we checked it on one of the price scanners and it showed up as $14.95. :D

Target's site doesn't list the bundle, but the DPCI for the game by itself is 207-26-0565 if that's any help.
 
I went to several Targets and only one still had $7.48 games left - the one near Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh had about a dozen Shawn White Snowboarding for the 360. Some of the others had no games left (so looks like it got marked down and cleared out) and yet others had plenty (one hand 100+ altogether) of games left that weren't marked down. So will circle back with those to see if the local managers finally give in and mark the items down.
 
Picked up a lone unmarked Halo Reach shirt today in Columbus, OH for $2.48

I think the only reason it was still there is that it wasn't marked. They are all gone at the stores near home.
 
Question... noticed some overstock games (mostly 360 titles like SSFIV, AVP, Borderlands non-goty) out of the "theft proof cases" and under the smaller display with the new games. Just hanging out in a stack.

Is this a good sign they will be clearanced or just left to rot?

LOL, that sounds really lazy of them. Any good Target will care about presentation and theft protection... and that involves anything besides just leaving them in a stack! :roll:

No individual department handles their own price changes, so it's VERY likely that the electronics team knows they're there, but the price change team doesn't. If any of them go clearance, the system should still automatically process the price drop for those DPCIs, but they just won't get labeled (PROBABLY..) You should probably try scanning a few of them tomorrow or whenever your store does clearance drops to see if they got missed.

I probably wouldn't wait for too long if you want them to drop even further without anyone noticing. Black Friday is approaching and that will undoubtedly clear out a LOT of our stock.
 
Gonna go to the target by my house tomorrow morning I'll post anything I notice. It'll probably be my last clearance run til after Christmas. :/ hate shopping between black Friday and Christmas.
 
I got Endless Ocean: Blue World today for 14.99, I hope it is good I have the first one. Do you guys think it is worth getting at this price? I already have the wii speak from an animal crossing bundle.
I bought the Bioshock 2 special edition for $17.48 for PS3. I am still unsure if I should keep it, if I return it I would just buy Bioshock 2 for the xbox 360 used at gamestop for the approx. same price 17.99. Do you guys think I would really notice a difference in play on the PS3 vs. the xbox 360- I played the first one on the xbox 360. I like the achievements, but I see you can get trophies on the PS3. I do like the idea of having the special edition of this game as Bioshock 1 was one of my favorite games. The only game I really played on the PS3 was Portal, and I watched both Uncharted games being played by family members. I also got a Halo accessory kit for $3 something. It had a belt, keychain, patch and pin.

Fable III CE on sale? Wut? Already? That'd be the fastest clearance on a semi-hit I've ever heard of. Well, except for that copy of Red Faction: Guerrilla for PC that I found a month after release for $9.99. I always thought PC games had crazy clearance cycles because they were PC. I can't imagine an Xbox exclusive game's CE dropping so fast. Perhaps people finally saw through the Peter Molyneux Hype Factor Field and recognized the game for what it REALLY was.

My guess is it's too big to stock. Looking at it right now you can fit about 4 games into the space it takes for 1 Fable 3... the stores would probably rather just offload it and clear up some space.

Well, dissapointment here. Typical Target in our area had a bunch of titles you all have listed, but still at $21.xx +, some at $30 when they were $40 originally.


My big one was RE: 5 Gold for PS3. Everyone has pretty much found it for $20.xx, my Target had only 3 copies for $26.xx. I bit the bullet only because they only had the 3 copies left, and $13 is better than nothing in savings.


Oh well...
 
Any Prestige/Hardened Black Ops will likely go Clearance a few months after Christmas. This was the cycle for Hardened MW2, I believe.
 
No drop report tonight. Too damn busy in the build up to Black Friday, and if this continues on, I won't be able to report any for the next month. I'll still do my best to report price drops but finals around the corner will probably limit this as well.

You can still find Hardened editions? I see Prestiges, but everywhere is sold out of Hardened editions.
 
Tomorrow morning, going when my local Target opens to check for :360: Rock Band 2 Special Edition. I hope it drops to $35 *crosses fingers*

The 360 version has been $14.98 (50% off) at several stores near me.

See, this is what I'm talking about. Target needs to universalize the discounts on their clearances throughout ALL of their stores. My local store has 2 RB2 sets, both PS3. A week ago they were listed clearanced at $69.xx. I checked yesterday, and they removed the cheaper clearance tags, now they are back up to $97.xx!!!


Plus everything at my Target is about 1.5-2x as expensive as most of you are finding when it comes to clearances. Sometimes it will take 3 weeks before a clearance item drops again.


What's the deal with Target and discounts? Is it based on regional sales, or is every store just doing their own thing? It seems so friggin random.
 
Checked my target and it was all but empty. The only things of note that I recall were

Batman AA $14 (360)
Elder scrolls IV game of the year $14 (360)
Red Steel 2 $14 (Wii)

Sadness too as I would have snatched both Batman and Elder scrolls if they'd been for the ps3. Other than those games it was just some of last years sports games like madden and such.
 
I scanned a ton of games and no new prices from last week. Except rockband 2 dropped from 97 to 68. Gooing by ebay prices that's a great deal
 
Went to a Target I just discovered today. This place was freaking LOADED with clearance games, I have never seen a Target with so many. There was over 100 games, easily. Picked up a few games at 50% off because it takes paying two toll roads to get there and didn't wanna leave empty handed. Plus they were the last copies, I got:
