Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Well there was a semi-drop today, so if you live in an area where there hasn't been one in 3-4 weeks, its worth going out to check. Only thing I noticed was Green Day RB down from $27.98 to $19.98. Backbreaker had also dropped to a lower price point..but that damn Swords game for Wii stayed at $20.98.
 
I used the PDA at my Target to locate stores near me that had a copy of Fable III LE. I then called (yes I know, never call on a deal, blah blah, stfu, etc.) each store that had at least 1 copy showing as "On Hand" in the system to only check a price, not quantity check.

So I called Quail Springs Super Target and spoke to the operator, had them just type the number in the PDA and to give me the price that it shows (like I said, I didn't ask about quantities). She told me $19.98, and that there was one copy on hand. So, I drove the 45 minutes it took to get there in holiday traffic, only to be disappointed -- just as I thought would happen, haha. The guy in electronics said he saw it there earlier, so it must have sold that morning. D'oh! I was also talking to someone else who said that the clearance section had quite a few more games there, so someone must have cleaned them out with some holiday hoarding. Lawls.

Only one other in my area has them in stock, but they have been riding high at $55.98. I'm tempted to just buy it at $55.98 and wait til the price drops and pray for a return/rebuy. I'm even wondering if I can buy it at $55.98 at one store and return/rebuy at a different store that has the $19.98 -- has this been done successfully before?
 
Goodbye Target Clearance..So much potential....Nothing now...Not even wii shovelware. Oh well there was Greenday Rockband, but i dont care about that.

I was successful (lucky) with a return/rebuy recently. I bought DA:O @ 14.98 at one location then 2-3 weeks after, I did a return/rebuy at a Target that was approx. 2 miles from there.

The women very nice to me. It was probably because I'm such an attractive young man and allowed me to do the return/rebuy. Of course YAMV (Your Attractiveness May Vary)

Merchandise bought at Target can be returned to any store. YMMV on them doing a return/rebuy on the spot. It'll depend on the person at customer service.

The way I've done a return/rebuy (in the past) is to buy the item at one store and return it to a store that has the desired price just before closing. I show up at opening the following day and it's usually out on the floor. It takes a little bit more work but it hasn't failed me yet. I usually do the return at one of the Targets near me, though.

It's on a disc which you use to install the content to your HD. Sort of Fallout 3's GotY edition was.
 
My local Target looked pretty cleared out. A single copy of Sin and Punishment for $12.48 was all I could find. Otherwise just a a few shovel ware games.
 
Found 2 copies of Fable III CE for $19.98. I picked up one and left the other. Both copies were not marked so there's a good chance it's still there. They were wrapped in that nasty spider wire thing though.

I saw two copies and bought one. I was shocked to score one since the clearance rack was gutted and only a few games were left.

Another Target had Red Steel 2 with Motion Plus for $19.99.

Oh okay. I wasn't aware you worked at Target. Hey, if I print out a barcode with a game's DCPI instead of the UPC and scan it at my local store (they have the old scanners, no touchscreen), will it work? Or does is it strictly UPC with the old scanners?

If you are to print out a barcode you may want to try printing one with just the DPCI number -- and then a second one with the numbers "49" in front of the DPCI number (EX. 49207220496). Don't ask me why, but that's what works.
 
Couldn't find ANY video game clearance at the Target in Rt 10 in East Hanover, NJ. Been looking for Dragon Age: Ulitmate Edition :pS3:, so if anyone in the Central NJ area finds it on clearance, would you want to PM me :D
 
I returned the game-only copy of Red Steel 2 I had bought at $7.48 and went ahead and bought the bundle for $27.98. I don't have the MotionPlus dongle so I'll hold onto it until next Monday if a drop happens.

There were three copies of the game left but this was the only one that didn't have a crushed box. And someone had stolen the MotionPlus thing out of one of the boxes. If somebody gets that for Christmas, they'll have a surprise, all right! :p

I saw a few copies of Guitar Hero 5 for PlayStation 2, a Band Hero game for PS3 and not much else.

Fable 3 LE dropped to $19.98, but Borderlands (which clearanced two weeks earlier) is still $20.98 at my store. Now I know they're just fuckin with me.
 
man i want a Fable III CE. can't find them around these parts. found a copy of MUA2 for PS3 recently. also band hero ps3 for 9.98 and 360 for 19.98. good thing all my plastic instruments are on 360...wait, no.
 
got 2 Fable 3 CE's finally today for $19.98 each. The second Target had it without a sticker behind the glass, the employee rang it up and thought it was a price error.
 
Crap, not a single store has DA UE anywhere in L.A. according to the DPCI inventory checker. I don't think I've ever even seen it at a Target.
 
Didn't see much at one of my local targets. The only thing that I saw worth mentioning is Super Street Fighter IV for the 360 for $12.50.
 
Went to go pick up cat food at my local target and went to the clearance section for kicks and found a Fable 3 LE for 19.98. Damn, I had been to this target several times since the drops in Nov and NEVER had seen this out on clearance. Not even at the 55 price (it was that on the price tag under the current clearance tag) So did they have this in the back and just put it out?

who knows.
 
No Fable LEs, sadly, but I did manage to get a DAO:UE for $15. It was on the clearance endcap but thankfully not stickered, which probably prevented it from being grabbed by an impulsive holiday shopper.
 
I did not get a Fable 3 CE today. it was gone from the one store that had it in the past at $55...

At that same Target, DO:UE is sitting in the prisons at $59.99. Yet the other 2 Targets 3 and 5 miles away had it clearanced :) Glad I got a copy :)
 
Well, the PS3 Fallout 3 GOTY dropped from $34 to $24 at my local store, which is still a bit too much. 360 stayed at $34.98.

The other store (which has been moving their clearance section around and I haven't had the time to look around for it) only had a couple Guitar Hero Van Halens left over at like $20.98. Finally found their clearance, it's a few games shoved in a toy endcap. Not sure if that's all that's left of the bigger carts of clearance I saw at the store a few weeks ago but never figured out where they put it.

Disappointing trip overall. Ended up with a Christmas card and bought a PSN card for $18.77 (Yeah, not really a "Deal" but it's better than $20.. and PSN cards almost never go on sale)
 
Gah! The two Targets I went to said that they could not adjust the price of the Dragon Age: UE I got last week.

So I asked if it's possible to return/re-buy and they said that "in order for it to be fair to other customers" I would have to return it and wait for it to be re-shelved before I can re-buy it.

In both of the Targets the Customer Service Representatives said that they are always "under watch" and that they could get fired if they did they returned/re-buy on the spot.....

Return them, walk over to electronics and ask the staff member to retrieve them for you to buy...I usually tell them straight up about the price drop...
you get the price and the cs staff is following the rules...
 
LOL. Man, just went I thought I scored big with DAUE and Fable III CE for forty-combined, people are already mentioning it. One store around me out of like three or four had those two lying under piles of crap; the other stores are completely devoid of any decent titles and prices. Given my track record checking out Target's clearance aisle, I was fortunate in finding them.
 
Sold Little Big Planet from the LBP/DS3 bundle I bought at Target last week. Bundle Cost me $31 and game went for $15. In the end after ebay and paypal fees $18 for a brand new spare controller. Not too shabby.

Were they still being sold among the regular titles? After doing a inventory search check in retrospect, two places sold titles that I didn't find in the clearance aisle. It makes me wonder whether I just missed it, or if it just wasn't on clearance.
 
So someone must have bought the whole stinkin' pile of Elder Scrolls they had over a week ago cause now they are all gone.

Borderlands is still holding at $21, yet Dragon Age: UE dropped to $15.

Nope, none of the stores around central OC have them. (anaheim orange, irvine santa ana, fountain valley etc)

We post our finds in this thread and requests trades in the trade thread, marketplace or via PM. It seems pretty simple to me...Some of you seasoned veterans are even posting trade requests here, so cut the crap, it sets a bad example for the noobs and it's annoying to the rest of us. You know where the trade thread is and if you don't there's a nice handy link in the OP (that you probably didn't read)


SEARCH THE THREAD YOURSELF FOR THE ANSWER YOU WANT!!!

Look in the OP for the info before you post requesting it...for example don't ask for the DPCI # of an item if it's already listed, that's just lazy and it angers me, and you wouldn't like to see me when I'm angry...


Okay, I guess that's it for now, sorry for the rant. I know that maintaining this thread is not rocket surgery but it does get tedious when I have to wade through a bunch or fucking ridiculous crap like the stuff I said above....let's just try to keep the stupid stuff to a minimum and everyone will be happy!!!

I found a Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate edition for $15 (Time to return my other sealed copy back to GS). I Also found some cool AC: Brotherhood swag at my target (Ezio Figurine, Shirts - each for $9.08)
