Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

My Target put an assload of stuff on clearance, post-Christmas.
No good video games, but in the toys the majority of Lego sets are on clearance, all different ones, incl. Star Wars. Speaking of which:

Grabbed these, these, and these Star Wars Mini Muggs for 9.08 apiece. The receipt bundled them all together under one DPCI: 087-06-0436
They had many left, but I got the last one with Vader, Yoda, and the Stormtrooper.

I thought this thread was a waste of time since all three Target stores I had gone to were the same - wastelands. However, today I decided to hit up one more that had "limited availability" and after 20 minutes of poking around I espied something that looked like a big brown book behind the electronics counter. After having someone scoop it out, it turned out to be the Fable 3 CE ... I was ecstatic when it rang up for $19.98. I immediately scooped it up and asked if they had anymore. They pointed me back to the clearance rack and after about 10 minutes of snooping all I could turn up was a copy of Fable 3 for $34.98 which I left there.

The point is, I never would have found this deal without this thread so you have my gratitude. Keep up the good work!

BTW, the funniest quote of the day, "Oh yeah, they put this one on clearance because the new Fable came out."

My Target's game section is wiped out from Christmas shoppers. The Toys section and seasonal Christmas sections are both having massive clearance deals (as expected). If you need some Xmas stuff for next year or some toys for a child's birthday in the next few months, now's the time to go pick some stuff up.

I hope my target's are wiped out of clearance games. I'm tired of seeing Backbreaker, ncaa 2010, all the compilations of Rock Band, borderlands, fallout 3, resident evil 5 and the other useless games that they have hundreds of copies of.

I did see a Red Steel with Motion Plus for $28 recently - passed.
Anyone seen Borderlands GOTY :360: or :ps3: on clearance as of late?

Anyone have the DPCI for them as well? TIA
doubt it'll be on clearance soon...it's currently under their $39.99 after-christmas sale..meaning don't expect it anytime soon

Yeah, video games are usually on the low end of the clearance spectrum this time of year (aside from a few) -- all the good shit got bought up for Christmas. Now is when "The Great Target Toy Clearance" begins.

I saw a TON of stuff in the backroom waiting to be tagged.
What is the lowest people have seen Green Day Rock Band? If you have seen it sub-$15, please send me a PM.
I've seen the Wii version for $7.48. The lowest I've seen the 360 version for so far is $19.98.

Just scoped out Target on Oracle and First Avenue in Tucson today and as others have experience with their local stores, mine is wiped clean of clearance. I saw two Band Hero's and one GH: Van Halen, both for 360 and priced at $19.98. Sadly the Green Day: RB that I've been scoping out each time is gone. I wonder if it ever dropped below $19.98...

On the bright side though I picked up a Perfect Shot for the Wii for $6.98. Not the greatest deal ever but better than the $11.99 it rang up as (funny since it was marked as originally $9.98). There were also some Assassin's Creed figures marked $9.98 which is a decent price but I might scoop one up if it gets to be $7 or less. I also saw an AC shirt and comic book but passed on both.

^You saw the AC2 Figures for $9.98? I saw them for $9.08 which looked very weird..wonder if they inputted it wrong on the scanner when printing the stickers.

Also, all of the AC Brotherhood T-Shirts were marked the same price..and it didn't look like there was a drop for the immediate Houston area, everything holding steady, but it isn't much..

The AC2 figures were priced at $9.08 at my local Target as well. They only had the white one but I picked it up anyway.

What's the original price on those? I wouldn't mind snagging one for the cubicle but $9 is still a bit rich for my blood.

The ones that I saw listed the original price as $12.99 on the clearance sticker, though I swear I remember them being more than that. I was seriously tempted, but talked myself out of it when I realized that it would just be more plastic junk sitting around and gathering dust.

I think they were an odd price like 16.99 or 17.99.
Advice - stay away from Target for a few weeks. It's insane there and the clearance sections are wiped clean.
No  Never, never, never!

Yeah, there is one or two Targets where their clearance section were cleaned out and others, believe it or not, have a decent selection of clearance games.

My advice would be to make one last round to your Targets to see whose CLS was cleaned out and whose wasn't and then take a break to hit that game library we've built up :D

Went to a Target in Katy, TX (Near Houston) and they had 1 copy of Borderlands:360: for 20.98, 1 copy of ME2:360: for 13.98, and 1 copy of DA:O :360: for 7.48.

Chantilly, VA clearance was terrible, but a copy of Batman: AA might show up on there if it wasn't already scooped up. Returned it at $15 for the $20 GOTY version from Best Buy. Might have rung up at $7.50, but didn't bother asking to find out.

LOL no kidding on the insane part. I've had easier times leaving a parking lot at a sporting event or concert then I had leaving Target's parking lot today. It was no fucking joke. Of course I stopped in one of the busiest stores in the country on Elston in Chicago too. Was in the area so I thought I would pop in, and whooops. Clearence wasn't completely wiped, but it just as well could have been. Like 12 copies of Backbreaker :360: and 10 copies of Swords :wii:

That store is ALWAYS busy. I hate that parking lot, barley enough room to get into the spots.

I lucked out on a copy of Oblivion GOTY (360)..I hadn't seen it last time I was at the San Mateo, CA Target..and then it suddenly appeared. It was priced $9.98, but the price scanner came up as $4.98! Despite a huge backlog I had to pick it up!
Picked up uncharted 2 for 9.98 =]
Damn dude, nice score. That may be the best game purchase you ever make. :)

I went to 2 Targets today, one didn't even have a clearance section in electronics. Didn't find anything worthwhile at the other (it had fallout 3 GOTY PS3 for $25, already own it for 360 though).

I found a copy of Fast Food Panic :ds: that was out of system. The guy at the register asked me if I knew the price for it. I told him that I found it in the clearance section and it was $4. He didn't believe me so he went to customer service and had it scanned with a gun. It scanned at $7.48 (as it should've). Atleast, I tried.

So lucky I been wanting that game :[

My targets are wiped clean

Anyone been to the Irvine Targets?
Last time I was there they had allot of things like Borderlands/RE5, but the prices were still high.

I just returned a $56 Fable 3CE to the Foothill Ranch Target since I found a copy at Costa Mesa for $20. Anyone interested in it should check tomorrow morning since it is now priced at $20.

According to the DPCI tracker all of the Targets around me have Dragon Age 'Available.' I've yet to see it in the store, though. That really stinks.

Ask someone at the electronics counter to look up the DPCI on a price gun. Chances are they can find one, but chances are also that it is still full price. I'll never understand why certain titles are hidden or stored in back while full price and then trotted out for clearance.

Did a CAG pick up the Fable 3 CE at Richmond, VA Forest Hill Target? I think an employee was semi-hiding it. It somehow missed getting stickered.

Picked up DJ Hero for PS3 last night for 12, and Rockband Beatles for Wii for 7. I think the folks who are saying don't bother checking this week and just trying to throw the rest of us off the scent.

Don't give up on Target clearance just yet.

Stumbled upon Dragon Age Ultimate Edition while on my break yesterday. I had no clue it was there, if that gives you any idea on how privy even Target electronics team members are to their own clearance (separate team handles all the price changes/clearance). There were two left when I got my copy, but they were gone within the hour.
Apparently my local store has copies of Dante's Inferno Divine Addition for PS3. Is it confirmed that this is 9.xx?
been that way for a while in Denver, CO area.

It was $3.74, actually. :D

Great deal man! Which Target did you go to?
Were there any left or other games on clearance?
Thanks for the help fellow CAG:D

Dude . . . no offense, but if you'd read the post I was responding to, you'd know which Target I went to (and that the overall clearance stock was "terrible" -- his assessment was pretty well spot-on). And no, there really wasn't anything else there (unless you want a copy of Guitar Hero Van Halen for $30ish).

LOL... wasn't paying attention.. so damn you picked up that copy of Batman huh? :bomb:

ugh...the lady on the phone at the only target near me which claims to have the Dragon Age UE had no idea what she was doing on the phone. I told her I could give her the DPCI number, and she said she needed the name first, so I already knew I was in trouble. Then she came back and asked if I was looking for something. I told her I was on hold and she said, "oh yeah, dragon age, that was 29.99" which could mean she just found any version of it instead of looking it up by DPCI.
