Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I don't have the sku, but i just checked Metal Gear 4 (yesterday) and it rang up 19.99.

Somewhat, somewhat-related note, I was able to find :pc: Age of Empires III Complete Collection and Total War Battle Pack for 9.99 each at Goodwill. For some reason my Targets seemed to have pulled these two a lot faster than other clearance titles. The prices on the blacked-out Target tags were only 50% off. Glad they went to the store that doesn't just slap $19.99 on every sealed game.

Are the products ending in .06 not online returns? I ask this because there's a Deadwood complete series Blu-ray box that's 10X.06 and marked as an online item at the local Target.

Speaking of my local Target it's totally barren gamewise. There were literally two DS games and a bunch of baby stuff. They did have an Assassin's Creed shirt & a comic though.

i am pretty sure that's the case. When I read someone found Sengoku, my first thought was "Target carries that?"

Most likely because of the season, but I've been finding more random online-only items lately. (Blu-ray box sets, board games, etc.)
 
Does Target mark down the on-line return items with deeper discounts over time like they do with the other Clearance games? I found a copy of Splatterhouse in the clearance section for $30.06 (it was originally purchased on-line) but would like to see the store reduce the price even more.

I have not found that to be the case. There was an online-only copy of NHL 10 at my Target that stayed at 27.06 for months.

I've actually seen additional markdowns after the first on online items twice. took about two months though and I would guess it depends on the store.
 
Now is there a specific clearance bin for clearance games or are the clearance games found on the shelves with other MSRP prices but marked down with a clearance tag?

Because I found Band Hero with the latter above and I was just going through the games that were regular priced on the shelves and just happened to see Band Hero marked down to $10 with clearance tag.

It depends on the store. Most segregate the clearance games, but sometimes they may still be in the plastic prisons.

I went by Target to see if I can get "Sengoku Basara" but all I saw was Trauma Team for $22.98 and Bayonetta for $22.98 and many DS for Yu-Gi-Oh.
 
Copies of Green Day Rock Band @ $9.98...and even though I enjoy(ed) the game, if I bought it for this price, it would be my third time purchasing the game.

And my achievement whoring would not come to fruition beating this game, as 100% it would be impossible for me
 
Still nothing but Iron Man 2's for the 360 at my Target. I'm not sure if they're waiting for those to clearance out before the put more on or what.

Not really gaming material, but picked up a double pack of Maple Brown Sugar poptarts for 3.98 on clearance. (2x 8 pack) My first semester back to taking morning classes in a couple of years and I can see these bad boys being handy pick me ups in the morning. :p

Otherwise, bone dry today. Picked up a Carrera Slot Car set (Cops and Robbers) for 12.48. Not sure why it was still around, but I'll take it. I'm a sucker for slot car sets.
 
I've noticed that it takes typically 2-3 weeks between drops. In the Northwest it's almost always 3 weeks. The only difference is holiday clearance and christmas toys.
 
Target in St. John's Jacksonville had the same crap.

The shirt and comic dropped at one of my stores. Both at 50%. It think the shirt was 6.xx and the comic was 2.48. Figures were gone at 9.xx

same here, I picked up one comic and the last red shirt they had at my store.
 
Where in Target are the COD Black Ops and Assassins Creed t-shirts and other stuff like the dog tags? I have checked several Targets here many times and never found any even when they should have been full price. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places.

Was able to find this today as well for 14.99, reg price. weird how only one store out four had it at this price. The other stores were still ringing up at the 39.99 MSRP

Do you have DPCI #s for those?

I haven't seen them out, so I'm thinking some stores may have them in the backroom still.
 
Just did some housekeeping in the OP, removed several older games that are unlikely to be found in the wild...

There was a McDonalds $5 off coupon when BBB released in Plastic man and one of the other Happy Meal Toys. I used up my 4 coupons already, but apparently they are valid until 9/2011. TRU had b1g1 50% off and a free t-shirt when the game released, so it was basically $35 + tax for 2 copies on DS and 2 tees.
