Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I had a store who's SC2 CE just went out of stock on the online inventory checker

Any CAGs who were lucky enough to pick up multiples, please PM me. I will reimburse cost, shipping, + extra for your time.
Mario stuff at 75% today.

Plush backpacks - $3.74
Monopoly - $7.48
Coin plush - $1.48
Puzzle - $2.48
Rolling backpacks - $4.98
Where were these at your Target? I know nearly all the stores are different, but I couldn't find any of this stuff when I was there a couple hours ago.

Went to check my target for SC2 but it appears they removed the clearance end cap totally. I looked all around for a clearance section and everything is gone!
does anyone have the dcpi for the yoshi backpack? The target near work had a ton for 50% off and today they're all gone?!?
The clearance Mario stuff is in the back of the store by the "bulk/costco-like" items. It's usually next to wherever they have their holiday stuff. So check by the V-day aisles.

Found tons of Castlevenia and Dante's Inferno on the clearance endcap, but they were full price. Also I saw 2 GT5 collecters editions on the endcap, hopefully those go on clearance as well.

If anyone is kindhearted enough, if someone could pick up an extra Starcraft II CE, i'd be willing to pay them for it along with the cost (within reason!) it took to drive there, and perhaps physically take time out of your day to pick up a copy for me as there are no Targets in my area that stock it :( and I am absolutely aching to get my grubby mitts on a CE edition.

I wouldn't mind online transaction but perhaps something local (socal?) would be great. Not sure if this is against the rules or anything but if someone is so nice enough to do something like this for me, I would be eternally grateful! I know that a majority of the people here are probably picking this game for themselves or flipping their costs to make a buck on eBay or somewhere but if someone did it, i'd be pretty elated :D

I'll check at my Target tomorrow on my lunch break since I work next to it. I'm in Ft Myers , Fl and it seems like people snag up clearance games before I have a chance to even see what they have. I would originally never look for SC II CE though so who knows.

Thanks. Snagged one (there's at least one more). Now I don't have to open my copy when I finish Picross 3D =P Had something in my cart already, and was waiting for something to order for free shipping.

Was able to get a copy of Trauma Team for $10, but no other new finds.

However, did find a STRATEGO board game, the limited edition that comes in a wooden box, on clearance for $10.14 (50% off).

If anyone's interested, here's the info:

I wonder if SCII CE is going on Ebay a big price? Someone selling on Ebay looks like, bought 4-5 from here, Blame these MOFOs!!! Have a feeling a lot of them will be returned to the stores IF it doesn't do well on Ebay. But, I swear I am NOT one of these MOFOs!

Well, it has to be someone on CAG, since no one else shops at Target or looks at Target clearance, according to you

I picked up a copy of :360: Iron Man 2 yesterday for $4.98. I can't pass up a $5 game...

I think I saw this talked about, but it wasn't in the OP. Saw a bunch of :ps3: Little League World Series for $19.98. DCPI is 207 24 0366. I can't imagine that more than 2% of you guys would be picking this up anyway, just wanted to contribute :D

Is English a second language? I'd give more leeway if it was.

I stood in target for 15 mins trying to figure out whether to buy Iron Man 2 for $5. Ultimately decided to give it a shot since I could prob trade it in somewhere and not lose too much money on it. Hell a $2 rental might be fun.

Mario Chess has disappeared quickly around here. If you guys are thinking about it, snatch it up.

I picked up DANTE'S INFERNO: Divine Edition (PS3) for $9.99 at the Tempe Marketplace Target. They had 2 more copies.

They also have about a dozen DJ HERO for PS3 at $19.99.

I saw that too, but decided to pass on it. It's not worth wasting your money even at 5. If my nephew didn't have it already I would have given it to him.

Odd pricing on that, considering I paid $12.99 before Xmas for the same item.

I'm glad I didn't trust the stock checker posted earlier. Said OOS for Trauma Team at the W 117th Target in Cleveland and I found 2 copies there. Left one ($9.98) for anyone who wants to snag it.

If anyone wants the superior tin version, it is $24.74 at amazon, which is close to target's 50% price for most after tax.

I also noticed borders sells the same mario items, maybe some good deals can be had with the recently announced bankruptcy/store closings.

Do you have the dpci for Dante's Inferno. It would be greatly appreciated.

It's on the first page of this thread.

Although, it's an odd DCPI (if correct).

edit..actually I think that's the wrong DCPI for the instore version...the 241 number is an online only dcpi, I think.

I saw a lone DA:O UE in a plastic prison for $50, which is kinda odd since it doesn't follow the same pattern as other clearance items. I guess I wont see it for $15 :(

The clearance cycle isn't the same everywhere. I've found things on clearance 7 or 8 months after people reported seeing them initially. I've even seen items pop up on clearance when I never even saw them in stock at the regular price.

The only thing that seems constant is the painful dry spells that come in between periods of good finds.

New retail for the UE is $50.

I've never known Target clearance sales to be YMMV but I went to get Naughty Bear and neither the PS3 nor the Xbox 360 version were on clearance at my local Target. Both rang up at full price.

4 targets in my area had "limited quantities" of the Star Craft Collectors Edition a day or two back when someone decided to post the link to the target inventory tracker.

Today every single Target is listed as OOS...... Argh, CAGS!! Blast you all

Target clearances have always been YMMV. Some stores may not clearance certain items at all and others may drop prices at different intervals or time frames.

I literally have two Targets 1.5 miles in opposite directions from my house and they almost never have the same prices on any clearance merchandise.

Damn, really? I gave sphynx the wrong info. I thought since it had dropped to $50, it would soon hit the clearance cycle. My mistake.

If you wanna work something out and got something in your area that is comparable, lemme know.

I've been pretty pissed off with my Target in this last round of clearance stuff. They had that "stock up" sale going on extra long because I guess nobody wanted to buy anything, and then decided to slowly put all that stuff on clearance. Bad thing is that there has never really been much (only seasonal stuff) clearance in that section and it was never really part of my route through the store.

Also, in the regular isles it doesn't really seem like they even try to move the clearance stuff to endcaps anymore, instead just putting it on clearance right in it's normal spot. So basically you can't just endcap-shop anymore, if you're clearance hunting you have to go through nearly every isle in the store.

Going to have my Aunt check her stores for SC II: CE though, I've never seen them at my store even when the game first came out. I hope she can find one as I haven't bought the game yet anyway and the normal edition rarely goes on sale (and when it does it's only $5 or so).

I was in the same boat for a while. Suddenly Naughty Bear dropped to like $28, so I had my eye on a stack of them for weeks. When I suppose it finally dropped to $14-ish, El Hoardo or someone else snatched all 20 copies up, which really bites because at the time you could get the game off Amazon for $16 I think?

So after going home disappointed, I took a look at its metacritic page again: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/naughty-bear

Now I'm not even looking for it anymore!

Has anyone in here ever found any of these clearance deals in NW Ohio? I've only been to the Targets in Toledo and Sandusky and have never came across anything resembling clearance.

I think that this weekend is a critical to see whether the Marvel & Capcom CE is going to sell out. If it doesn't, then chances are good it goes on clearance too. Even though not many copies of it...

Would anyone happen to know where I could find this inventory tracker? Thanks!

I partially agree. I guess the only caveat to that is that most CEs can't fit in the glass prison or employees have been instructed to place the CE on a shelf.
Every Target that I've been in that has the MvC3 CE has had them in the glass prison next to the regular versions.
Most of the clearance CEs we've seen as of late have been odd sizes and take up more-than-usual valuable retail shelf space.

Are you serious? You think mvC3 Special Edition, if it doesn't sell out this weekend, is gonna go on clearance? wth have you been smoking?

They're already impossible to find. Unless there's a reprint, you won't be able to find mvc3 SE even at retail.

Is it really selling out that much? There's still a copy for each system at my local kmart and a couple at bestbuy. haven't checked target since it released though so I don't know if there are any there.
Any SCII CEs? :D
I'm not a pc gamer, so I had no idea what game you were asking for...but looking it up.....I have seen it, but for ~$75. I couldn't even tell you where exactly....it was around Loop 610 (I hit up San Felipe, Meyerland, and S. Main).
