Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Using the DPCI trick to find if a game in stock resulted in all 10 games I was interested in showing as out of stock for every store in the area. Is it even worth going to see tomorrow? Could it be wrong?
 
These drops are done on a individual store bases, right? I can't go and return DA:O UE to rebuy at 12 buck unless they have another copy marked down to that price? (Bought the last copy, so the price bottoms out there?)

Correct, if there's no copies to mark down it won't go down in price from there.

My local Target has about a dozen copies (half PS3/half 360) for the $34 price. I've been checking before and after work daily for the next drop. I actually bought DA reg ed. a month ago for 12.48. I would jump on the UE version for all the DLC.
 
Saw :ps3: Def Jam Rapstar - $34.98

No go on Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition. I think they were all clearanced through around Christmas time in my area.

Also no go on Super Street Fighter 4 .. not marked clearance yet. Still $29.99 -- hopefully on Monday they'll drop.
 
Checked one of the local targets tonight. Saw Def Jam Rap Star for 34.95 for both xbox 360 and PS3.

All PSP's were gone.

They still had those toy story bundle PS2's but they are ringing up at the full 99.00 bucks.
 
Do stores sometimes take clearance items off the inventory?
I saw a Halo Reach legendary edition in a cart without any price sticker in the store. The online inventory checker doesn't show any at that store but I took a picture of the UPC to check the price in the in store checker. It rung up 104.xx I think. Does anyone know why it doesn't show in the online inventory?

edit: I heard sometimes the online inventory checker may not be accurate.

Also at the same store , Black Ops (PS3) prestige edition rings up 74.xx or similar (using a picture of the UPC on phone) but I couldn't find it in the store , nor was it shown in the online inventory in the past month.
 
When I talked to my electronics guy at the store I work at, he told me they can sometimes do price drops 1-3 times a week on various days, 'cause I mentioned to him about the Mondays price drops. He noticed I'd always come in early before my shifts and look at the clearance games.

They also redid the clearance rack at my store, again. It's really nicely set up and not just a complete mess anymore.

Just noticed at one of my local stores that the Clearance Endcap is completely gone and games are behind the plexiglass some with and some without tags. I saw Borderlands 360 ($14.99), DA:O UE 360 ($34.98), DJ Hero 360 (disc only $9.98). Was hoping to grab Forza 3 on the cheap, but both vanilla and ultimate versions were still $29.99.
 
I was at my Target earlier today and didn't see anything interesting aside from this little car dashboard compass thing for ~$1.25 in a non-electronics clearance area (I forgot where it was).

Are people still finding the Mario Chess sets on clearance? I've been trying to track one down, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. I know it's likely a YMMV thing, but I like Mario and chess (even though I'm terrible at the latter), and this seems like something I'd like to buy and keep.

One of the Targets I go to did that for a while. They finally switched back to the endcap. I don't know if it was because of theft or what but it was annoying.

I used to love when the Clearance rack wasn't in the electronics section. Those were the times when I found the best deals. Now I'm lucky if I find something worth picking up every few months.

Was at Target this morning , still 3 copies each of Dragon Age for $34 and PS2 slim w/ Toy Story 3 game for $69. I almost bought the slim having just sold my PS3 phat to gamestop for $45 bu tI'll wait it bi to see if it drops more. Maybe tomorrow. It's literally LOCKED away under the PS3 display so nobody will be randomly walking off with them.

My Target's enitire section of Move enabled games and Mario stuff has disappeared. poof, gone, replaced by flower pots. I wanted the Shoot, but only found 3 copies of Mel workout in the endcap. Funny, my electronics section endcap is now 60% books, they have Miley Cyrus if anybody is interested ;-)
 
Big clearance pull tonight. Bunch of DS Accessories (make way for 3DS), cell phone and iPad accessories, some Acer PC monitors, a bunch of DS/Wii shovelware, Army of Two 40th Day (360), and Dante's Inferno (PS3).

Here's to hoping that CoD: BO Prestige will drop this week or next, just spotted a 360 & PS3 yesterday afternoon. I really want those Zombie maps and could handle parting out the package/codes for $70-80, but not for $105. I heard the RC-XD is pretty shitacular, as well, with only a 10-15 min runtime on the battery... it'd be something to keep the dog entertained.
 
Going to Target when it opens to check if Black Ops Prestige dropped. I will buy it if it has! Not going to take any chances ... only 2 on the shelf unlike SC 2 CE there were more.

From following this thread it seems that employees have to do the markdowns manually right? I'm considering going to Target when they open as well today, mostly to check Black Ops Prestige. But I'm thinking if I get there right when they open the prices might not be updated and even scanning them wouldn't help? Am I wrong?

When the price team does it's markdowns is particular to each store. My closest one never does them before lunch and sometimes not until Tuesday morning. Another store further out always has it done at opening. You just have to get to know your store's pattern...and even that can change when they hire/fire people.
 
Thanks for the info. The only Target in my area is only like 5 minutes away so I guess I go around 8:30AM and if prices aren't updated I'll check around lunch time. Lately I've been stopping at Target on Mondays around 5 or 6PM and they've always been updated then.
 
I can imagine lots of variation for when the stickers get manually applied to the merchandise but wouldn't the price in the system - that comes up when you scan it - be more system wide? I scan almost everything I buy in Target b/c the price on the store shelves is wrong alot.
 
black ops prestige for both systems is down to 74.98. I think i will go ahead and buy the only ps3 one they have. Still have a few for xbox 360. I think they havent finished updating stuff I dont see much new and nothing worth mentioning. SWFU II didnt drop

I was really thinking of getting Blops at tha price but I don't play CoD games for multiplayer, I only play the campaigns. After BB dropped the price to $79.99 a month or two ago, they are rare in-store nowadays.

I'm hoping for a drop of new SKU at GS, à la GoW 3 U.E. :lol: :pray:

You will NOT find Black Ops at $39.99 at any BB stores unless it is a return. They all sold out; at least in the Northeast when they were on clearance for $79.99 AND part of the B2G1 Free deal. This was right after christmas when people had money to burn and the Zombie DLC was still selling for ~ $70.

Someone with patience could still make money off this at $74.98 or part it out and keep the parts they want.

Typical prices for the parts will bring:

A. $50 - $70 = DLC
B. $35 - $45 = RC-XD (sells better if you keep it in the original Prestige Box)
C. $40 - $50 = Black Ops game in Steelbook case and Medal

So they DID drop at your store? I'd be tempted to get the 360 version simply to play the game and sell the DLC. I'd probably keep the car too just to play around with my Sons and dog.

They only had one PS3 at my store but at the next Target out in Dover they had a bunch for each system...hmmm...$75 is still a lot of money for anything though.

ah, thanks for correcting me, I guess I was way off base. Didn't even realize the $80 price point at BB. Crazy that I still see a ton of MW2 Prestige listed at full price. :roll: I was just trying to put hope out there for some people ;) Guess $75 isn't earth shattering, especially if you siphon off different parts of it..

I bought it when it was $105 or so. Sold the dlc on ebay for $130. SO it may be worth getting at $75.

Even if it's still going for 50-70 it would technically be worth it. TiV at GS on the tracker says $24 or you could even sell it new for more. Shoot if it's new and in normal packaging and you don't mind being a little dishonest you could probably trade it for another game at WalMart... You'd come out on top either way though. But it's still a $75 investment with the hope you'll make a return on it.
 
Sorry my post before was kind of sloppy. Hate posting from my phone. I walked around the store for awhile hoping they were going to put some more stuff on clearance. But that never happened. They were still putting other stuff on clearance when I left so I'm not sure if they were done with games.

That said there was a crazy amount of stuff on clearance today throughout the store. There were red clearance tags everywhere. Shame I didn't really see much of anything in video games, but I'll probably check back later today to be safe.

At least half the digital cameras they had were being put clearance while I was there. There was a ton of stuff on clearance in the Kitchen section but not much off regular prices. Some other parts of the store had a lot of stuff on clearance too, but I really didn't see anything worthwhile.

I did pick up the PS3 Black Ops Prestige. Although video games do sell slow at my Target I'm sure it will be gone before it drops again since it was the only one they had. I noticed the Halo Reach Legendary edition was gone. I wonder if that got a huge markdown this morning and someone had picked it up or if someone actually paid way too much for it last week.

WOW DLC sell more than the remote car with video is SAD SAD SAD!!!! It makes me lose respect for some gamers! I am going back at lunch!
 
Target in Knoxville,TN(Kingston Pk) had 1 BO Prestige for each console on Saturday for $74.98. I picked up the PS3 version and sold the zombie maps for $62 on ebay. 1 360 version was left as of late Sat. night

Wal Mart's policy has always been somewhat YMMV, but on a couple occasions I did just that...so unless they changed it. Once when the Wii first came out I was forced to buy a bundle to get one at all and I took a couple of the games in (unopened) to Wal Mart and they let me exchange them for games there were the same price. I also did it when somebody got me a gift for the wrong system, I was able to exchange it.

The one time it didn't work was for one of the games in the bundle... Wal Mart must have had an exclusive edition of it because when she scanned it, it read as a game that they did not carry.

2) COD Black Ops (in prestige form) comes in a steelbook with no UPC.. hence "good thing you can't"

The RC-XD's are mildly entertaining... the build quality isn't great and performance lacks as well. It's a nice novelty item to put on display but remember it requires 12 "AA" batteries and only gets about an hour of run time on them.

I can confirm this.

I wanted to buy a jacket for my kids. But it was still tagged at 50% off. So I brought it to the self scanner as I saw the mark down team in the area. SS scanned at 50% off. I asked the employee doing mark downs to scan my item it see if it is in their mark downs for the day. He did, then printed out a 75% off sticker. I went on my merry way to look for more jackets ($9) and I wanted to buy a future jacket. He came over after hearing me talk to the kids and said hold on he had to active it in the system for the price to show up at the register (Paraphrase, he said "activate").
