Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

No game, but found a :br: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas marked "Online Copy" for $5.36. I've never even watched the movie, but couldn't pass up the deal. Guess I'll be watching it soon :)

Out of curiosity, how up to date is that DPCI tracker that's posted on the first page? Is it actually up to date with their system? Or is it like Gamestop where it updates in the morning and not again until the next morning?

It's hooked into the same system that registers use to check stock at other stores. It updates once per day (not sure of the time, either after close or before opening).

The only way to get accurate up-to-the-minute stock for a store is to have an employee at the store verify that a copy shows up using one of their handhelds. Even then, sometimes they show 1 copy of something and it's been long gone, as damaged/repackaged items or theft can cause inventory to be slightly off.

If you're considering a long drive you can either call customer service at the store and have them look at the inventory #s for the dpci, or you can call electronics specifically and have the guy check. Be warned though that electronics employees may be more likely to know what the item is and snag it if the price is good before you get there. The store policy is not to hold clearance items but it never hurts to ask (as long as you're willing to risk the employee buying it and lying to you).

So basically if something was showing up for two days straight then it should have been there, right? Since it should have been in stock the first day through at least the second morning...

Depends, if it says "limited availability" then there might just be one copy left in inventory that was sent out for salvage or something months ago and doesn't actually exist. If it says "in stock" there are likely multiple copies of the item in inventory, making it more likely that it's actually there. If it's something that dropped recently it might not have dropped yet at that store, which might explain why it's still around. Stores near me often have items for MSRP weeks after they hit 50% for other CAGs.

Same, I dont think I ever saw Bioshock 2 CE go lower than 70 when others were reporting 35 and lower.

Yep - picked mine up for $17... And there were a bunch around when I grabbed mine (all PS3, though)...

I'd say its more like 30mins tops behind. I've purchased something and check stock-checker and it's shown out of stock. Of course there will be other factors that wouldn't make it reliable however it's lightyears better than Gamestop's inventory checker.

On another note, picked up Def Jam for 360 for 12.48 but also saw ATLEAST 20 ps3 Def Jam's( a whole shelf dedicated). Guess no one wants it for PS3.

DAOrigins is $25. Expecting it to go 75% off this weekend and will pick it up for $12.48.

Arggh, hit two more Targets near work, both Sterling VA stores. South Sterling had Def Jam Rapstar for $24.98, and the Sterling store had it for $34.98. I guess Northern VA is Xbox 360 territory.

[This afternoon I found...
Not game-related but for those with children:
Found a Huffy Trike for $12.xx (MSRP: $49.99)
Misc.:
Beatles Abbey Road artwork for $9.98 (MSRP: $19.99)
Black and Decker rechargeable package cutter for $4.98 (MSRP: $19.99)

I can update this post when I get home if people are interested in these items and want the DPCI.
I'm simultaneously astounded that this thing exists, and convinced that I must have one.

This it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=14ANX0Q1JQ0B42B3QSW8 ?

If so I might check out my local tomorrow.
I've got one, and it's worthless on clam-shell cases. That's what I wanted it for. The picture shows it working on it but it really doesn't. I can cut the sides, but most clams-shells have a little "hump" and it can't cut that.

It works great at Christmas to cut wrapping paper though.

My store has at least 50 of those cutters hanging in 3 different parts of the store. Still marked $10, but rang at $5. Got 3 but have no idea why. Just a sucker for electronic tools.

Went to go check out if the ps2 dropped from 84.xx to find they we're all gone. There was at least 20 consolesall gone it filled a shelf and its empty. So shocked. Did manage to pick up rapstar for 12.xx :ps3:

I've found myself shocked, too, when a lot of stuff vanishes quickly. Then I go to local flea markets and remember, "Oh right." It can be cutthroat sometimes.

Wouldn't they have just dropped to 30%... so like $69? Still not really a lot of room for a resale margin there... decent price for keeping but not worth the hassle to sell. Wonder why someone would buy that many?

Probably a return/rebuy when they drop lower so nobody else picks them up. I've seen this happen a couple of times now at my local stores. Very annoying.

I guess maybe, but when I worked there a return of that size would be pretty suspect... we'd probably hold them for a few days before putting them back on the shelves or have AP keep an eye on them. Depends on the store i guess though. Target doesn't do return-rebuys on clearance, so as long as the rules are followed it would have to be reshopped, retagged and put back out on the floor before it could be purchased.

Same here. I've seen those things at $10 and think they are pointless. But I'll probably grab one at $5 for paper cutting, TO the MAX!

Same thing happened to me, only they had been sitting there for 1 1/2 weeks at $70. Following Monday, all gone and still ringing up at $70. I'd understand it if they were $50, but not at 70-85
I know this is only tangentially related to video games but has anyone seen a surround sound system on clearance at target?
yes. sony. didnt catch price.

That's what I was thinking too! I would understand if it was like 40 bucks or something but at 84.xx that's crazy!

:ps3:

DJ Hero Bundle DCPI- 207-24-0282

I snagged 2 of em at the Arapahoe/I-25 Target in Greenwood Village, CO. 1 for me, 1 for my buddy. I left one if someone else wants it. :)

PS2s don't get discounted often IME, and while Sony hasn't made an announcement (to my knowlege), they seem to be going out of stock, especially at B&M. The lowest I've ever seen for a new unit was just under $70 during CompUSA's liquidation - that was 3 years ago. I thought I'd have seen that price point broken by now for a 10+ year old console, but no.

In this area, they're basically OOS at Target everywhere and it doesn't seem the price went below $85.

Great find. The game is a lot of fun.

I bought a Sony Bravia 5.1 system at Target about a year ago. It was 50% off. It cost $100 marked down from $200.

Lord the inventory @ the Targets in Castleton & Fishers, IN have gotten horrible since all the move games were marked down. Halo Legendary still goin strong @ 105 @ both stores, GT5 still holdin @ 75, and the PS2 ToyStory bundle @ 86; DJ Hero PS3 Bundle @ 47 with a box beat to hell, and the Rap DefJam not even on clearance for the PS3. Seriously wondering why I'm even bothering makin the trips.

Was the :360: version the same price? I missed out the last time Target had it on sale, but I'm pretty tempted to get it now if that version is the same price.
Yeah Greenwood usually has some nice stuff.

Maybe try them for a while?
If I didn't live in Fishers, I'd prolly hit it up. Good to know tho for the times I am actually down south. Thanks.

They didn't have any on :360: so I don't know. I would have grabbed one for :360: too so I could have two turn tables for it if they did have them. I am going to go hit up a few targets here in a bit after I shower.

I will report back later. :)

One of my Targets has DAO Ultimate Ed PS3 at $24.98 while the 360 version is still $34.98. The wait continues, while the few remaining copies keep on disappearing...

I would think both versions of Reach should drop this week...or at least the Legendary version since it's been out for a while. They've been doing temporary price drops on the SE edition for a while now too though, so I think they're trying to clear it out before they're forced to put it on clearance.

Bad thing is if they drop Legendary Reach the normal amount it's still too high, it would have to either skip a drop or drop twice before I'd pick it up since it's been under $75 at several places several times.

If you cant find one at Targer, Sears has the 360 version for $14.xx YMMV I picked one up last week.

Since most of the time Cross platform games price may differ, like i saw today SWFU2 for 24.98 on PS3 and it was still 55.98 on 360 mostly do to the fact most PS3 cross platform games sell horribly compared to 360 counterparts.

CE or Normal? If its the CE ideally another drop will come soon!

Picked up DAO:UE for PS3 for 24.98. My target had 3xDAO:UE for XBOX 360 and 4x for the PS3. I also saw two of the [080-00-1049] Acer H213H 21.5" Monitors for 111.98. I am hoping they drop in price one more time before I go get one. Has anyone have any experience with this Monitor? Would you recommend it?

TIA!

It's the CE. $55.98 is the 30%. Next one is 50% which is $35 or so. No idea how he ended up with a $25 one though...

EDIT: according to the OP the ps3 one was clearanced on a different MSRP than the 360... that would explain it.

thats what I was thinking, just making sure since if it hits the tens I can justify if only for the USB.

thanks for the reply though!

Salisbury, MD still had all the PSP games people are seeing, as well as all the other normal stuff. They are sold out of Rapstar for every system though, obviously a hoarder/reseller. There was a ton there for each system and then the next day poof all gone.

Non-game wise but still electronics, got a decent deal on a bluray player today. It's a Philips BDP5110/F7 and it was $75. Haven't found many reviews on it at all, but most are either positive or just nitpick...only real negatives I've seen are that it's difficult to set up Netflix, but at least it has that and VTuner. Either way needed something cheap for the playroom and this was perfect.
