Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
:wii: Tetris Party Deluxe - $14.98 (207-26-0596)
Not bad. The WiiWare versions is $10 but the retail version has everything the WiiWare version has and quite a bit more. For $4.98 more I'd be all over it if I hadn't already gotten it on WW years ago.

I went to the local Target earlier today and saw (some repeats I'm sure, but it doesn't hurt to repeat sometimes):

:wii: Samurai Warriors 3 - $12.48
:ps3: Force Unleashed 2 CE - $39.98 :)360: version is still in the $50 range)
:wii: You Shape w/ Camera - $14.98
:wii: ExciteBots - $19.96 Game Only - $24.98 w/ Wheel

Samurai Warriors 3 is very tempting. I've never played any of the games in the series, but I've heard SW3 is pretty good.

Edgewood, Atlanta had one Def Jam at 25, a PS3 SWFU2 at 35 and the 2 360 SWFU2 still at 50.

I just finished SWFU2 which I paid 27 for at GoHastings and like some others said its not worth any more than 30 tops.

I even thought it was a decent sequel but it has to be one of the shortest games I've ever played clocking at around 4 hours with a HUGE amount of reused levels. I can't honestly believe the game took a year and half to make.

What's the word out there on those ps2's. I'm in Vegas for the next couple of days so I haven't had a chance to check. Before I left, I found 1 left at a store in rancho cucomonga ca for 69 so I picked it up. I know in chino ca, there were at least 20 of these marked down to 84, and the week after they were ALL gone.

Any new news?

I think I found the last ps2 in my area, $70. Had to pass on the toy story version right next to it because the seal was broke and I doubt I would want that game anyway. This was at a store that never had them for a while. They also had a ton of the samura warriors at $12, had to bite.

At another target earlier today, the clearance team was out changing prices at 2pm!?!? I didn't know they waited that long. I scanned a jax and daxter at $10, then asked the clearance lady if it was going to drop today, she said yes, and scanned that baby up with a $4.98 sticker in about 3 seconds for me. Pretty cool. So checking in the morning might miss the daily drops. And none of my stores have Gran Turismo or modnation racers on clearance. They all have multiple copies in the prisons, but never hit clearance yet.

Also, those $5 electric scissors seem to be all gone. Either salvaged or someone cleared them out. And another odd target clearance observation. There were some cheap shelving units I had been buying at $7.74 (75% off $30.99) They went out of stock almost everywhere last week. Today, there is new stock, but they are at a new MSRP of $29.99, no more clearance. What type of clearance cycle is that?

Ran across Def Jam Rapstar for PS3 $12.48 (x2) and X360 Def Jam Rapstar $24.98 (x2) @ Mt. Juliet, TN store. I left them for someone who actually wants them.

That is for the toy story version. The plain ends in 0005. Oddly enough, my plain had a $69.98 0010 clearance sticker slapped over the $84.98 0005 sticker. Clerk must have thought both systems were the same when they were retagged.
Got today DC Universe Online for PS3 for $14.98. There was also the Star Wars The Force Unleashed II Collector's Edition for both PS3 and X-box 360 for $55.99.

Also took a [207-24-0467] :ps3: DC Universe Online $14.98, that's 75% off and I don't think I'll find it anywhere else cheaper. Even though it has online fees and you can't sell it used.
Could you guys give the location of the Target where you got it from please?

There isn't anything good in the entire city of Houston, it seems. All the local Targets are tapped out. Did manage to find SSFIV for $14.98, but when that's the best thing around you're pretty skint.

Speaking of DC Universe Online BOTH stores are showing it in stock according to that mobile stock locator link, but I forgot to look for it at my closest store last night while I was there.

Oh well. I'm headed towards another one sometime today, but that one is showing 'limited availability' on the locator. Only problem is, that game has likely not even hit clearance around here as of yet. But if they have a copy and it rings up $12.48 on the self scanners(the better ones with the number pad;)) then I'll grab at least one to screw around with for that price.

But if it's still $30+ then it's not worth it seeing as how the disc is useless after you use the code.

I snagged Def Jam Rapstar 360 for $12.48 at the Spring Hill, TN Target - last copy they had, too. They didn't have much else interesting. Granted, I made this grab last Thursday, but tonight I finally get to see how much of a white boy loser I am. I'm excited. :D

:ps3: Transformers War for Cybertron - 19.98

Dragon Age Ultimate was still marked and rang up 34.xx, and GOW Collection was still in the plastic prison, not marked down.

I forgot to mention that I saw a IRoomba 400 series @ the 38th Street local in Indy for 69.xx. Almost bought it to flip it as amazon has them @ 115.xx, but figured there wasn't a market for it. I couldn't even see myself using it.

Where is Houston did you find SSF4? I have not been able to find that one but you are right that Houston has been dry lately.

I got the PS2 today for $69. Do you think the $7 replacement plan is a good idea at Target- he said if I get it they replace or I would get $ back if they don't have it anymore. Also do you think it is ok to buy a used playstation 2 memory card or should I buy a new one?

Glad to see someone else from Middle TN out there!

Roombas are awesome, we have two of them. However, I think that one is the older/shitty version.
OP says Dragon Age Origins Ultimate is 7.48? Did anyone see it for that low?
No, the lowest I've seen either version is $24.98.

Yeah, the Amazon reviews were basically 50/50 split between 5 and 1, so figured I'd wait and see if itd drop again.
OP says Dragon Age Origins Ultimate is 7.48? Did anyone see it for that low?
For some reason, DAOUE has dropped twice. That $7.48 price is from the first drop.

I saw it for $7.48 back in November, while in PA.

Replacement plan is your call. PS2s, especially the later Slim models are pretty damn sturdy. I think your money would be better spent on a good game to go along with that console.

If you buy a used memory card, be sure to get an official Sony one. Used is fine, as the new ones are pretty damn expensive these days, Also, Katana made a really nice card in the past couple of years that was officially licensed by Sony (yes, surprisingly), and they have models with a switch that is the equivalent of multiple cards. I got the 4x one, so that I could just leave a memory card in my PS2 the whole time, sort of the like modern consoles with hard drives for saving. With 4 slots, my kids take 2 slots, and I take 1, with one extra. Some of the 3rd party cards are crap, but the Katana one is nice and licensed. You can get used ones at Gamestop or Play N Trade, or any local game store probably cheaper than what you can get on ebay. As far as ebay goes, be aware that if the seller is from China there is a 99% chance it is fake. The problem with fake cards and some 3rd party cards is that they use compression, and the compression schemes can corrupt the data.

Mine hit 14.98 before dropping out of the system

The Elk Grove Laguna location has the :ps3: DAO:UE for $24.98 last night.

Also, a lot of copies of the :psp: Jax and Daxter game for $4.98. Anyone know if someone can pick that game up and have fun with it even if they don't know the Jax and Daxter backstory?

As an aside, I finally saw an IPAD2 at a Sacramento Target (downtown Broadway location) today. 64GB wifi version in white, but still - they are hard to find sometimes.
:360: 60GB Gold Starter Kit (60GB HD, 3 months live, headset) - 69.98 (usually 99.99)
I saw one of these in my local Target back in January stickered at $49.01, and since my 20GB was nearing its limit, I bit on it, but with my 360 succumbing to the RRoD E74 error, it looks like I wasted my money (especially since I already opened the starter kit and haven't used the HD yet...).

Below is what I remember being at the Austin TX location near 51st and IH-35 today. No new drops. Electronics section is now in the back of the store, with the clearance endcap being to the right of games and electronics.

:360:
Halo Reach Legendary cube $74.98
DAOU $24.98

:ps3:
Killzone 2 $14.98

Picked up:

:ps3: DC Universe Online $14.99
:ps3: SSFIV $7.48
:360: Army of Two: The 40th Day $4.98
:psp: ModNation Racers $4.98
:psp: Jak & Dexter $4.98

Saw:
:ps3::360: Def Jam Rapstar $24.98
:ps3: Transformers:WFC $19.98
:wii: Samurai Warriors 3 $19.98
:wii: Spider-Man SD $19.98
:wii: Aragorn's Quest $?

"PS2s, especially the later Slim models are pretty damn sturdy."

Had to comment on that, lol. Maybe PS2 Slims/late model Slims were sturdy, I don't know I never had one. But regular PS2's were one of the crappiest systems I have ever owned. Only had mine for about a year before it wouldn't play DVD's or DVD based games. Had tons of similar stories from friends (online and off). Anyway just had to comment, no offense.

yes, its the toy story version. Someone had asked for the dcpi number for it.

yes you will enjoy Jak & Daxter on the 1st go around.
no copies of this in my state, would have grabbed it in a heartbeat! traded it before finishing...
Saw a stack of these staring at me at my local Target:

Ghostbusters (Wii) - $1.26

Odd that one, there were a bunch of them supposedly returned from the website and two, the markdown starting price was the last store clearance price for the game ($4.98).
Heh, saw the same thing here -- about 12 copies marked "Online Item" -- though they were $5.06. Rather than putting the price sticker over the barcode on the back, they had drawn through it with a blue marker so that it couldn't be scanned (which confused the hell out of the cashier when she tried to scan it), and put the sticker on the front. Weird.

I grabbed one, even though I've had the 360 version since it came out. I figure that since the Wii game is a significantly different experience (even though it's the same story), it was worth checking out for that price.

Also saw a copy of the :ps3: DJ Hero bundle for $17.49, but the box looked pretty beaten and it rattled a lot, so I decided to pass on it.

Had been hoping to grab :psp: Mod Nation Racers, but it's still full price here, it seems.

How does :wii: Samurai Warriors 3 compare to other Koei games? I've had a couple of the Dynasty Warriors games in the past, but I didn't really care for them so I traded them off. Is this basically the same thing?

There used to be quite a bit of money to be made on those. A store near me had them for $32.xx for almost two months around Christmas, they were going for $150 on Amazon at the time.
OP says Dragon Age Origins Ultimate is 7.48? Did anyone see it for that low?
Maybe that was Origins vanilla? I mean w/o Awakening + 8 DLC. Either way I've never seen Dragon Age at my Target(s) at all. Lucky I picked up :ps3: Dragon Age Origins Ultimate for $24.99 at Kmart.

Got a :ps3: Super Street Fighter IV $7.48 (normal case, not GH) but it was shrink wrapped and had that annoying Target back of case dent from their display case.

Dragon age went in clearance months ago, right after it came out. Many stores never restocked it, but those that did are clearancing again.

I'm not sure why it originally went on clearance.... figure it was a mistake (someone thought it was origins at headquarters or something).

Yup, it had to have been a mistake, UE went on clearance almost right after it came out and in many places got down to under $8. Unfortunately people bought multiples at mine and it went quick so I missed it. Mine actually did restock too, but they got bought up the second time before they even went to clearance (as far as I could tell anyway).

yeah, my target has DA:Ultimate right now in stock at 34.98 Clearance

not really sure how good of a price that really is.
^^ People speculated it was a mistake right when it was put on clearance.
If I remember correctly, most people were actually "defending" Target in saying it probably wasn't a mistake. A few people (me included) thought it was from the beginning though.

Not that it's a big deal or I care, still... I just remember because I found it odd that so many people thought it was just business as normal and mistakes like that wouldn't happen.

I went to both Targets in Springfield, PA today and neither one had DC Universe Online, DCUO, for the clearance price of $14.98. All the people who got it for that price are lucky.

:bomb: As expected the other Target by me didn't even have :ps3:DC Universe Online on clearance as of yet. Their clearance shelf was laughable at best. They had 7-12 copies of :ps3:GH: Van Halen for $20 something and a shitton of Wii shovelware and sports games.

No DC Universe Clearance at any Oklahoma Targets (Norman, Del City, Midwest City) The Del City Store had 1 copy of SWFU2 for 38.XX on PS3, 55.XX for XB3, Truth or lies at 4.XX for XB3 and some wii/DS stuff. Midwest City had Truth or Lies on XB3 as well for the same 4.XX price, found a bunch of games that should be clearanced so as they have a lot of copies and they are older on the PS3 such as MLB The Show 10, Resistance 2, Naughty Bear and the like. All were still 29.99-59.99. Oklahoma stores in the metro don't seem to get a lot of clearance items. THe Del City store also had 1 new PS3 DJ hero for 17.XX and Norman didn't have anything good except some other electronic stuff like ipad/iphone cases and head phones. Gonna go check later though.
