Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Hell of a find on those dsi xl mario bundles. I didnt think there were any left in B&M stores. I just bought one a couple weeks ago from amazon but they are long gone now. Hell of a find. It might make it one more drop but i doubt it.
If that happened around here I'm sure they'd totally sell out at $124.98.

No one in my area has patience, or there are just too many shoppers who flip out at "CLEARANCE".

(of course I was at a Blockbuster this weekend near my local Target and it was PACKED full of people buying DVDs at 10% off in a STORE CLOSING CLEARANCE so I think I know my answer for the above)
yeah I closed 5 hollywood videos in oklahoma and the blockbusters a closing now and I can't believe people buy it so quick.

I was at one of my Target's last night and they still had Dragon Age Ultimate for 25. I did notice that a bunch of Super Mario Galaxy's were being clearanced for 25 as well, I was pretty surprised about that.

Same around me, it's not even that they're impatient they're just stupid! Worst case I've seen of this to date was the Circuit City closing though.
about the DA origins ultimate edition.. did they finally fix the friggin dex bug in that version or not? I gave up on the game/series (and for a while Bioware period) after they flat out seemed to refuse to patch it in the damn console version
I have beaten Dragon Age Origins three times and have no idea what bug you are talking about?
lol well it's good you don't want one, after posting the location ... you won't be finding one ...
but meh, your choice ...
That's a boatload of DS XLs to sell off.

I anticipate to see the last dozen hit 75% $49.98.

We shall see.

If that were to happen oh man.

I would be all over that and pay shipping and cost and a few bucks to someone who would pick one up for me.

Told myself I wouldn't drive all over to my 3 Targets for anything but $125 for Dsi XL w/ Mario Kart sounds more than worth the trip as my 6 yr. old is waiting to buy a DS with his $130 birthday money. If you want a PS2 replacement, look for that at your 3 Targets to. Might get lucky.

My point was - I waited for the $70 and $84 PS2s the 3 Targets had to drop, 1 day they each had a couple, the next go around they were gone. So, if I see the DSi for $125 I'm NOT waiting for another drop and get left out again.

Though now I'm wondering if it's Mario Kart or the Super Mario bundle that another Target clearance website listed. Don't remember which site, was just Googling around. Probably buy any new XL for $125 though anyway as my kid is growing impatient.

Ah gotcha. Sorry! ;)

I stopped waiting to. Lost out on a few deals, so if its something I want I just go ahead and buy it. I no longer wait for the rock bottom price. Just a cheap price I am happy with.
I was at one of my Target's last night and they still had Dragon Age Ultimate for 25. I did notice that a bunch of Super Mario Galaxy's were being clearanced for 25 as well, I was pretty surprised about that.
Which Target? Drove 30 miles... but I couldn't find it, they had "1" in stock but no location, no stock room location or anything... I had no idea where it could've been.

No Mario Dsi Xl bundles for me at any near target. (according to the helpfull find in store link. Thank you).

Shame as I just bought one full price at wally mart last week.

Checked the inventory checker, and then called 3 stores that supposedely had some of the Mario Bundle DSI XL in stock, none had any, said they hadn't had any since Christmas ! guess no clearence in my Area CA

3 Targets, zero DSi XL bundles in stock at any price. Pretty disappointed as I used the inventory checker and 1 Target listed "available" and another said "limited availability". I think I'm only using this thread to report stuff I find, trying to find the stuff listed is ruining the entire Target clearance experience for me ;-)

Did get DS Bookworm and Wii Spectrobe Origins for $9.98 each. Probably overpaid, but the Easter bunny has to leave something in the kids baskets.
Told myself I wouldn't drive all over to my 3 Targets for anything but $125 for Dsi XL w/ Mario Kart sounds more than worth the trip as my 6 yr. old is waiting to buy a DS with his $130 birthday money. you're a smart cookie,... this is all over SD since yesterday before noon...

Picked up Def Jam Rapstar on 360 finally for $12.xx, did see some silver DSI's on clearance for $90.xx, not any other colors, just silver.

I had a similar disappointing experience. When I went to the store, they even scanned an old tag that showed inventory, but no one knew where it was. Ultimately, they concluded that their inventory is probably just wrong.

As an aside, I'm just now venturing into this thread. Is there a certain day Target usually marks prices down? There are some Reach Legendary Editions at my Target that I've been noticing the price dropping on. I want to be ready for the next price drop, at which point I'll probably bite.

Thank you.

Saw Def Jam Rapstar :ps3: for $12.48 but I'm not into rap music, so I left it there. SW:TFU CE both versions still $39.98 and their outer plastic slipcases are crushed by the spider security devices. Also a pile of Tony Hawk Shred :360: at $14.98.

Picked up Just Cause 2 :ps3: for $7.48 and Transformers WFC for $9.98 though.
Its worth it at that price, and not a common game. Not all Targets have it, and no other B&M stores seem to have it in stock. It has online play, but I haven't tried it yet.
Worms was $14.98 at my Target.

I need in on Just Cause 2 :ps3: for $7.48. Has anyone else seen it for this price?

at my target, it's usually on monday, but recently, i've been seeing some thursday drops.

This may sound a bit racist but a bit funny, go figure on this one: In a predominantly african-american area the target there has tons of dragon age but no def jam rapstar, and in a predominantly asian-american area the target has tons of def jam but no dragon age. Sadly I called the target for dragon age pricing and the girl says, "my manager is here so i can't give you pricing on a clearance item". WTH?

Ok, so I bought Def Jam Rapstar for 360 a few weeks ago for like $25. I go into a different Target today and see they have both the PS3 and 360 versions for $12.48. I picked up the PS3 version since I kind of wanted that version originally and plan on taking the 360 version back. Now, just out of curiosity, will they be able to scan it and let me buy it back for $12.48? I wouldn't mine having both versions for $25.

I also picked up Mario Super Sluggers for Wii for $25. I don't think I've ever seen a first party Nintendo game clearanced before.

As has been answered here at least every other page, short answer on re-buying, NO. Long answer, it depends on the CS person, where Jupiter and Saturn are in Orion, if it snowed yesterday, etc. YMMV. The only SURE way to get the cheaper price is buy it again at the lower price, and return the one at the higher price. Target won't price match their own clearance items.
That's a boatload of DS XLs to sell off.

I anticipate to see the last dozen hit 75% $49.98.

We shall see.
lmao uh ok... but now down to 40, and this store is highlighted on SD with a picture of the end cap to boot...

Anyone in NY able to check if these dropped? We barely have any of the amazing deals at Target. Probably still gonna hunt for one since gf wants one pretty bad.

This explains why I couldn't find Country Dance on Wii the whole time I was in Texas last week.

This isn't complicated at all. What is stopping you from buying the xbox 360 version right there and then, and then going to the returns line with your $25 receipt and returning it? (btw they can look up receipts/purchases based on just a credit card)

No new pickups for me. Although, did see some of the reported drops.

DJ Rapstar finally dropped at all stores to the 12.48 price. And some stores dropped DA:UE to 24.98. One store had Escape the Museum
iconwii.gif
for 9.98, don't have the DPCI though. Checked for the DSi XL but they're not on clearance around here.

For the golfers out there, some accessories hit clearance. The club cover, in the shape of a tiger, is down to 3.24 and a handheld score tracker is 0.87

DPCI's if interested:
IZ Animal cover @ 3.24
#088-04-0098

Pro Count score tracker @ 0.87
088-04-1426

EDIT: Did see the electronic Drum board, varying from 25-35, at different stores. No idea if it's any good.

Ok, thanks. I figured it's been answered a thousand times but this thread is ridiculously long to wade through.

You guys rock!

Thanks. Saw the white DSL in the clearance case tonight, but it wasn't marked down yet. Came here and found the price instantly.

They also had a black Pokemon DSi (may have been DSl, sorry for confusion) bundle in there as well. So it may be worth keeping an eye out for that one.

LOL. I know it's not complicated. I'm not completely inept.

The issue is that I bought the 360 version at the closest store to me, about 25 minutes away. I happened to be way on the other side of town today for an appointment, an area I haven't been to in years. There was a Target right down the street so I stopped in. They only had the PS3 version left so I got that one there. Chances are when I go back to the Target nearest me all of the DJ games will be sold out so returning the 360 copy I already have and buying a different one will not be an option.

I guess there's some confusion because you originally said they had both PS3 and Xbox at the second store.

What's the DCPI for the white DS Lite?

CAGs that live in areas with those Mario DSi XL bundles on clearance are so lucky! I think these are already sold out in the SF Bay Area at different retailers not just Target.

I wasn't able to obtain that info as the clearance case at this Target is a mess. I checked the display case in the hopes the tag would still be on the shelf, but it wasn't there. I'll check another location tomorrow.

Does anybody recall how low DSl hardware has dropped in the past? I imagine they will still sell, but if I can sit out a nice chunk of change I'm willing to risk it.

Does anyone know what the last clearance drop was for the larger ACER monitor (I believe it is a ~ 20.5").

My target doesn't have anymore but it does have the display. I'd be willing to gamble and pick it up if the price is right. I just wanted to know what the lowest clearance price was and try to bargain from there.

has anyone bought displays before? Do they usually stand firm and offer it at the last price or will they give an additional % off because it's the display and has been used?

Thanks

display models are sold if there are no more back stock and is discontinued. they usually do give an additional 10-15% off from my experience as well.

Thank you. I think the last monitor sold when the clearance was only like $118.xx or something in that ballpark. I'm not sure if items going on a theoretical markdown even if there aren't anymore left at that particular target. I'm wondering what'd be at... I'd like to negotiate down to about ~ $60 because as far as I'm concerned it might as well be used.

I actually bought one of display models about a week ago. Had been looking for the earlier model that had the hdmi input since the newer models were the same except no hdmi. Finally found one with hdmi input and had an employee scan it. It scanned for $39.98 clearance. They took an additional % off for being open display which brought it down to about $28.xx. With tax and recycle fee came out to $39.xx. Really nice 21.5" Acer monitor with touch controls and built in speakers. Works and looks great as a pc monitor and also works and looks good with my PS3.:D Actually saw another display model with hdmi input yesterday at another target. Good luck if your looking for that one cause I been to a few targets and they either had no monitors or just the ones with out hdmi.

Huh, the Reach Legendary was gone, it was still $104 yesterday so either some idiot bought it at that price, or they did a random mid-week drop and it got snatched up today. They were doing some work back there though so I guess it's possible it was just moved temporarily too.
