Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
So then how do they activate the prices for all the stuff they can't find?
They call and ask the guy that taped it under the register and his mommy confirms the price drops. :D

Found the last copies of SW:tfu2 C.E. and DA:ue at 19.98 and 12.48 respectively, for PS3.

Was worried about SW since the seal was broken, but everything was in there and just used the code and it downloaded fine.

Only problem is that I can't get the usb drive to work properly. Can access the pics but can't get the art book to load. Been trying on a PC and keep getting message to instal Adobe. Go thru the steps, finalize then try again only to get the same message.

Anyone having the problem with the usb drive?

Also found the Phillips bluray player. Rang up out of system and when I asked for a price they would only sell it at $75. Didn't see it as that great since I've seen some other players at sub-$100. Plus the box on the one I found looked like it had been used as an accordion
On my second stop during lunch:
I found that Little League World Cup 2010(?) game for :ps3: for $5.04.
Snagged one of those Lexmark printers that someone else mentioned for $22.xx
Picked up x 2 of some GE hands-free headsets (2.5mm works with the 360 controller) for $3.74 a piece.

Saw another x 2 Halos for $37.xx at this store, one :360: SW: TFU 2 CE for $20.
Nothing new at this store either.
May've been the same store I went to? But I didn't see any TFU 2 CEs there. I bought one of the Halo Reach LEs for $37, the other one had the seal peeled off of it.. dunno if anything was stolen out of it but I'm guessing there's a good possibility of that.

Found Halo LE's at Vernon Hills Illinois target for 38 bucks. Also found the TFU CE for 20. It was in a wierd place. I was walking by the aisle with the PSP and the PS3 games and you know where that small unlock shelf is under the PSP game section, it was sitting in there untouched. I asked the guy to unlock the case and scan it, came up 19.XX. So when you guys are out, take a peek in that white lock box shelf thinggy under the PSP games and you may find something. This one had no price on it, never went through any clearance cycle, never had the security on it..freaking clean as a...well whatever.
Been on the site now for a few weeks, love the site. Thanks everyone for the information. Oh, no other clearance worth speaking of at Vernon Hills.
El Hoardo struck 6 Target's near me and scooped up all the $37 Halo's and $12.5 Dragon Age Ultimates. 2 stores had atleast 1 copy of halo reach at 2pm. You missed one copy at one store so F U hoardo. Btw this was in Valley Stream, NY.
why would anyone want all those halos with big ass statues. probably a bitch to ship those things. i can't imagine having all those statues and big ass boxes occupying space.

Got the Halo Reach Legendary Edition today for 37.XX. It was awesome to see the standard copy of the game on sale for 39.99 (20 dollars off) and the Collectors Edition for $79.99.

Madison Ave Target in Sac has x4 Super Mario Galaxy @ 24.98, for those interested. Don't need it myself, since I got a used copy after it seemed I'd never see a good price on the game. Not much else unless $2 DS game cases are your thing.

Found Assassin's Creed II for $19.98 [PS3] and $14.98 [PC]; Heavy Rain $14.98; and the first Assassin's Creed [PS3] (DCPI 207 24 2055 I believe) for $9.98, which was my only buy.

Also saw Batman:TBATB Wii for $7.48, Def Jam Rapstar PS3 for $12.48.

SWFU 2 CE still 40 in different locations in socal. I feel luke west coast drops lag behind the east coast stores.
Lame. Besides it seems people are content to pay 40 since many stores had 1 or none left.

Havent seen anymore halo reaches but after my experience im staying cautious.

I was to my local Target this afternoon around 12:30-1pm and they said they were doing their updates at that point. Apparently not quick enough, as SW:TFU2 CE was STILL ringing up $55.98 then.

I wanted to grab the :ps3:FO NV CE at the nearby GS, but since I'm banned from going into their stores I had to wait and come back later with a buddy, who was able to grab it for me then.;):whee:

So on a whim I went back into Target a lil after hitting up GS and lo and behold the same copy of TFU2 CE now had a $19.98 clearance sticker on it.

So I bought that as well. :whistle2:#

Only problem is that the clearance stickers were on the sleeve where it says Playstation Network and removing them took up some of the print from the sleeve. The sleeve also looked like it was opened, as the plastic seal wasn't really stuck to the sleeve anymore. But I think it was more a case of the sticker peeling off the print on the back of the sleeve and losing its grip on it due to that.

Unfortunately the steelbook case inside the sleeve was dented during shipping and also due to the tight spiderwrap on it. There's about 3-4 dents on the damn thing.

And did I mention how motherfuckin' ugly that USB flash drive in the CE package is?:puke: But usually ugly means collectible to most fans of a series, so maybe I can recoup my money from the game/dented steelbook on just the drive.

Somebody cleaned out my stores. Was going to pick up dragon age, but I was on the fence anyway, since I see it dropping sub-$20 on its own soon. But everyone should rejoice since they appear to have gotten a restock of Mel B! The rest was just wii shovelware, not even any unwanted PSP games.

Not video game clearance but there is a leather futon that hit the clearance cycle that could be useful for game rooms and mancaves. DPCI is 249-13-0098.
May've been the same store I went to? But I didn't see any TFU 2 CEs there. I bought one of the Halo Reach LEs for $37, the other one had the seal peeled off of it.. dunno if anything was stolen out of it but I'm guessing there's a good possibility of that.
Damn, right when I read your post it made me think of the :360:2010 FIFA World Cup games I bought today. One of them didn't have the plastic wrap on it, I've bought a game before that didn't, and nothing was missing so I didn't think much of it. What a fucking stupid mistake on my part.

Just now, I look at it and lo and behold the side sticker was peeled off and the game is missing :bomb: WTF! Now I have to go back and explain this shit to the store manager.

I managed to buy one today and I was lucky with that one. I opened it at the customer service area and nothing was missing. I hope I have the same luck you did when I go back to the store to return my incomplete game

lmao...how do you get banned from a store?
Did you commit a felony?

No, an employee ratted him out to corporate for being a smart consumer and making profit at their expense. (within the rules of course, corp just didn't like it)
lmao...how do you get banned from a store?

It's far easier than you think. I got banned from a gamestop for starting a fight with them since my game wouldnt load after buying used.

Picked up my STFU for $19.98. I got the first game for $10 from Amazon, so an extra $10 for the sequel's CE sounds cool. Don't know how this thing is worth $50, let alone its original $80 (which I see it at Kmart/Walmart still at $80)
No games for me today but, I made out like a bandit with a 50 inch Panasonic plasma set for....wait for it.....$250:hot:
wow open box?

For anyone that got Star Wars TFU II CE for PS3: Was your steelbook case sealed in it's own plastic wrap inside the box? I got one with a cut (NOT broken) outer seal, and wanted to be sure it wasn't a return someone unwrapped.

No, mine wasn't. The bottom seal on mine was cut as well, the top had two of them and one may or may not have been taken off. Just had the steelbook game case (unwrapped), the usb drive and inside the case a code. Is that it?
I can't believe it's still here. The MVC3 CE that I found at Irvine Spectrum Target last week still remains on the shelf. $49.01, restocked, but unopened. All wrapping intact. I already have MVC3, and Shuma-Gorath is gross. I passed. Isn't somebody going to buy this thing? And before the "pics or it didn't happen" crowd shows up,
God damn it! can't attach a pic! Look here http://www.flickr.com/photos/81256040@N00/5589476349/ It is away from the Wii shovelware, on a higher shelf one aisle over, underneath the headphones. Like someone was hiding it, but forgot their tape.
what does that repackage tag mean?

i think that was common for mishandled games. The steel case is pretty thin. Mine was dented as well when i bought it on amazon a while back and i had to exchange it

its been a while but from what i recall, no, the steelbook is NOT sealed. The little seals on the outside should have been. BTW dont peel them off, cut them. If you peel them it damages the case =P

Wow! Great deal! Somewhere in your youth or childhood you must have done something good!

Was it 1080p or 720p? In Dover, DE they had a bunch of 42" Plasmas but they were 720p and still $400.
Picked up SW2 LE $19.98. I wonder it worth it or not? End up picked up Dragon Ages Ultimate Collection (PS3/360) $12.98 each. Also saw Spider Man: SD (wii) $9.98 not sure it worth it or not?
Lucky you, I missed out on the DAOC at my local target. They had like 8 copies, and I just missed the markdown day I guess :( I went back a few days later and no luck.

Picked up SW:FU2 CE last night. Last PS3 copy. Was worried since the seals on both to top and bottom had peeled off, but it seems to have been a manufacturing defect, as everything was mint inside, code worked, etc.

I went to amazon and put the halo reach LE from target as a lower price...........

its a long shot but if enough of us do it, amazon might price match

I just picked up 2 Halo: Reach legendary editions for $37.98 each at my Target in Millbury, MA. Hope someone finds this useful

One more Halo LE left for $37.xx at Atlanta- Buckhead South. Grabbed the second to last one just now.
Don't bother checking the North Druid Hills or Northlake locations, I already did, and some guy hid them all from me. :( Show yourself, Atlanta El Hoardo!
EDIT: Atlanta - Buckhead South is now out of stock. Glad to help, aznhero913 :)

I don't know if this is new because I don't currently have the time to look through all of the pages of this immense, immense thread... but I know for a fact that the store I frequent (and where I work) happens to have at least 50 copies of Animal Crossing: City Folk for $24.98... I'll be happy to put it in red if someone verifies that this is new! I have a pic of all the sad looking copies on my phone and may just have to update this post with the jpg, it was just that pathetic to me. ;)

The store is the West Milwaukee/Miller Park one, btw.

Yeah, the OP has Animal Crossing there but no DPCI; posting that would help :) I've seen it at that price around here too.

my target had one of the swfu2 ce so i picked that up for 20 bucks

but the best thing i found was the dsi xl mario kart edition that comes bundled with the game and some cool graphics on the dsi xl was marked from 180 to 149. so im hoping it will sit there till it hits 100 dollars, then its mine. they had 14 of these systems
