Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

being a target worker, you get fired for hiding clearance. if you think the employee is hiding clearance talk to a manager or the assets protection so they can keep an eye on them.
 
Just got back from Target in Los Banos, CA. There were some new accessory stuff as well as a printer (I didn't see the price, but I think it was a Lexmark, which is a good brand) in the endcap, but nothing new worth noting in terms of games. I did see :wii: Animal Crossing City Folk for $12.48 in the plastic prison, which seems like a pretty good deal.

I'm sad that people jumped on the :360: versions of Force Unleashed 2 CE and Dragon Age Origins UE, but that's what I get for waiting. :(

Those were gone at my closest Target stores soon after they hit clearance.:roll: Otherwise I'd replace the HDD in my slim PS3 I have with one of those, since I assume it's just a 2.5" sata laptop drive in those enclosures like usual.:D

newegg has a 1tb external for 40 bucks, but I don't think the 2.5 sata's come in sizes that big yet so it's probably a 3.5 which wouldn't work in the ps3.
 
Inventory tracker showed PS2s in stock at a nearby store, where they had none before. Sure enough they had one and it rang up at $49.98:bouncy:. It was the regular black unit instead of the TS3 bundle. Still better than nothing.

No wonder employees "move" the clearance games 4 times a week. It's not considering hiding if they just move it to some location no normal person can find! I also had an issue with an employee REMOVING the clearance sticker from a Star Wars the Force Unleashed II CE PS3 $39.98, putting it behind glass with a sticker under it saying $79.99. I had the lady scan it to prove it's on clearance and walked out. Lucky I got my copy elsewhere for $19.98, but still that is low. Can they get fired for that?
 
Yesterday, I looked up to see if any Target stores around me had a copy of Force Unleashed 2 for PS3. One store did. It was an hour away. I decided to call ahead (yes, I know this is a big no-no, but considering it was far away, I did it) and the kid told me they had it and he'd put it aside for me. Told me the clearance price and everything.

Showed up at the store, he put aside Lego Star Wars. :cry:

I can't believe there is Target in that town!!! I haven't been there in 20+ years and they had squat there!!!! It was a field picker community, my uncle has family there and we stayed for a few days.

Picked up Mario Super Sluggers for $12.48 today, great B-Day/Christmas present.

That sucks man, but I don't think I'd risk an hour drive for $14-15 savings.. the CE for both consoles is $34-35 on amazon. Might've helped if you'd got them to check the DPCI instead.

Why would you complain about that? The game will sit there unbought labeled at $80 while you know the real price using the scanners. I wish my store put all the clearance games locked up with incorrect prices to keep away the clearance cougars, thieves, and resellers.

Does $50 for PS2 at target the lowest it will go?

It reminds me back in the day the PS1 was $50.

I still got the Fat Ps2 with freeboot and still working. Was considering a backup console.
 
I've landed some decent Target clearance deals over the years, especially on clothing, but reading this thread drives me nuts. I go to Target 1-2 times a week on average, and I never see any of the stuff you guys are talking about. haha, oh well

I have 7-8 Targets around me in a 10 mile radius and they are all different in what they carry, drops, date of drops. I don't know how many different ones you visit (if possible) but it really helps.

They have a wal-mart too now. I pass it every time I head home from college. It's an interesting town to say the least.

I thought I could stay away this week, but Target Clearance sucked me back in. Picked up Worms for $7.48 and Mad Dog McCree for $4.98. Reviews are bad for Mad Dog but it's one of those light gun arcade western shooter games from years ago, and it's 3 arcade games bundled in one. I figure it's worth at least $5 to run through all 3 cheesy games. Since I don't think anybody put up the DPCI's yet, I'll repost the games. Not sure how accurate the stores are keeping track of these though since my stores no longer show these in stock even though I saw multiple copies just a couple hours ago. I don't think these could have been in that big demand. Passed on nhl 2k11 for $7.48, since I allready picked up 2k10 the other day for $5, and reviews say 2k11 is worse.

According to the DPCI checker, a Target that I've never made it to up near Cleveland has limited availability on the PSP bundle. Too bad it's way the heck out there and I'm not even gonna be near Cleveland until Wednesday night.

I wished I had grabbed a Virtual Boy way back in the day when Toys R Us cleared them out. And I kinda feel the same way about grabbing this if I find it, even if I never useit.

Only games I might try on it are the Patopon, Locoroco and Half-Minute Hero. Can't think of anything else that ever caught my interest.

Seriously though, I missed a stack of top loading NES systems when the one local WM cleared them out for $15 each. At the time(1999-2000) though I don't think they were too valuable as of yet.

They had an endcap with about 15 of them on there.:cry:

That means there are 1 or 2 in-stock. Note: The search tool isn't 100% accurate.

to note nothing new at the Target in Alexandria, VA (off jeff davis) except for AC2 (pc) priced at 15, still just about 20 animal crossing city folk and a bunch of wii foam fingers or something haha

Be careful with calling for clearance items (especially big ticket items like handhelds,CE, and consoles). The person you talk to might grab it for themselves or a friend after you informed them of such a tremendous deal...someone was gonna say it might as well be me
 
Grabbed a Mad Dog McCree for 4.98. Seen it mentioned here but wasn't even looking for it. For the price I figured why not. Feeling pretty happy about it actually, even though it's not a great game. I've been very "retro arcade" the last 6 months thanks to a massive arcade opening up around here last august and this is right up my alley.

$24.98 should be the lowest it will go, if they last that long. Most Targets near me sold out at $84.98 and $69.98. I found one today locked up and without a shelf tag or price tag. It was $49.98 and I bought it since I figured it may not go to $24.98 for a couple of weeks and it was the last one and Toy Story 3 was included.

Based on what I read on the SD thread, some have bought one at sites that showed none listed. Also, note limited could mean an employee holding one for themselves too. So it goes both ways.

Lastly, do realize some of these SD guys bought the whole lot at their respective stores so my guess is this deal is pretty close to dead at all Targets at this point.
