Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Haven't been able to make it to Target (or anywhere else), crap keeps happening to my car. Yesterday I got a tank full of bad BP gasoline, and my engine started misfiring and knocking on the interstate 20 minutes later.

I'm just relieved it's not the transmission. Still a $500+ dealership bill is pretty bad. I tossed the fill up receipt at the station and paid with a BP gift card, so BP will just laugh and say "sucks for you."

This after Tire Kingdom knocked off a hose last week, and I had to pay the legit dealership $400 to get new hoses after losing all my radiator coolant.
Smart purchase. I grabbed one at $80, and wish I could find another one at $50. They make great DVD players--far more durable than those Funai POS's you find in Magnavox, Panasonic, and every house brand you can find (yeah, I'm talkin to you Walmart and Target).

That PS2 fatty will lose its disc drawer "rail" sooner rather than later, so now you have a back-up and won't be wasting your money buying PS1 and PS2 ports to play on your PS3. Screw buyers remose, you made a great purchase.

If you still don't want it, don't open it--just put it up for sale, and you'll probably make $20 to cover your time and effort in its acquisition. Hell, I bet it would make great trade material here on CAG.
It's definitely not worth it to try trading/selling any hardware on CAG, unless you can do a face to face trade/sale. Otherwise you have to pad and insure the item out the wazoo or face an angry buyer when/if the item arrives DOA from being tossed around like a football in transit.

As far as the older PS2's rails, you can re-grease them and get them working like new again. It just takes time and patience and that's two things it seems like a lot of folks are very short on these days. To many it's just easier to toss aside a still working console in favor of buying the new/shiny one that works 100% right instead of working on keeping their old one running.
Picked up one of the Acer 21.5" HD monitors for $38.xx after tax and 10% open box/display discount.

Yeah I was able to score one of these last month with the HDMI for $38.xx too. Really nice screen and works great as a screen for my PS3.;)
Hope you get at least $30 of use out of that thing cuz it's likely been on for 16-18 hours a day for 2-3 years now.

They sold out the display ones at both of my local Targets or I'd have likely tried to grab a 'spare' to run one of my three PS3's on.;)
Well if it lasts for at least a year I will have at least got my money's worth.;) Come on lady luck don't fail me now.

Saw contra 4 for:ds: with NCF tag for $14.99. There was about five copies. It said 20th anniversary edition. Anyone know if this one was any good? I remember Contra III the alien wars was a fun game. Also what is the dfference between regular and 20th anniversary edition?:whistle2:k

Bleh, I tried talking to 3 different employees in an attempt to get an additional 10% on the clearance display camera I got but they all turned me down. Might try talking to the manager tomorrow. 2 of the employees were trying to tell me that the 10% doesn't apply to clearance items, and another told me after it hits 50% the 10% doesn't apply to it.

I do know I was able to get a display westinghouse PC monitor 2 years ago for 75% with the additional 10%.. so i don't see why they aren't letting me do it, hm..

FYI I won't be doing many clearance updates over the next month. A combination of Easter Sunday and school related stuff, including finals and graduation.

I had no idea there was such a think as a special edition for that game. Anyway, Contra 4 is great, it's also incredibly brutal as most Contra games are. This one doesn't skip a beat.
whats the difference between "Out of Stock" and "Not available"?

Does not available mean they never got it in the first place?
Out of stock means just that. It's still in the system with an active DCPI, but just showing 0 on hand. YMMV of course because inventory can be off on the positive/negative side for many reasons.

"Not available" means its not in their local inventory system. It could mean that they never even had that item available in store (as if you were doing an inventory check for a "web only" or regional item), or that it has been dropped/salvaged out from their local system (which eventually happens to NCF or clearanced items, resulting in the "item not found" or "0.00" price check prompt).

An "item not found" could still be lingering in the store due to:

 • Piss poor guest stashing that eventually gets uncovered naturally
 • Corrupt team member stashing (trying to hide stuff in the stock room just to have another naive "how did this get here?" employee put back out on the floor)
 • Lazy team member (who just mix everything together so it could look nice and keep their supervisor happy)
 • Diligent "Stash Buster" team member (who will typically hand the item off to a "lazy" team member managing that items relevant section...)
Technically the store is not allowed to sell you that item, but if the item is tagged with an old clearance label on it, cashiers will typically enter that price when prompted at their terminal.

For items untagged that are out the inventory system, it gets tough. If you are luckily enough to have a nice, competent employee that knows how to work a "PDA", they could do a price inquiry on it and tell your cashier the last local selling price... but that's extreme YMMV because its time consuming finding an employee with a PDA on the floor that actually knows how to use its more advanced features, on top of willing to help you do that instead of telling you " Salvaged...sorry, can't sell it".

Funny, I literally live down the street from that place and am forced to drive past it everytime I go out. The irony is that I lived in IB for the past 6 years, and never ordered anything from there (even though I eat at Los/Don Panchos right next door regulary).

I always thought that Donut shop as some kind've drug joint or somethin'. Its so tiny, looks run down, yet it always has a long line of customers outside when they are open.

First off, I agree this is 100% positively true because this has been reported countless times on this thread. My question is whether the inventory checking hand-held gun Target employees have, contains the same inventory data as the Target ASIN inventory checking website we use on the OP of this thread.

If I go and ask a Target employee to check the inventory of an item with a scanner, is the information more accurate than our "CAG" Target ASIN checking website? Also, can a Target employee check the stock if I give them the ASIN or DCPI instead of a barcode?

I'm asking because I've very interested in hunting down that 50" 3D TV someone found for $500. I know it's literally 1 in a billion odds. I'd crap my pants just to find a 42" 1080p TV for $500. My HDTV I bought from Target 3 years ago is already failing quick.

That's exactly what I use mine for too.;) But having a spare would've been even better.:applause:

Wish I could score one of those 60gb 360hd, but my Sanford/Daytona stores never seem to have that stuff on clearance. Anyone willing to help ,pm me. I would be willing to send you a money order for the amount of the item plus reasonable shipping. (no paypal, i dont have an account). Any advice for not getting bird, please pm me. Thanks. If this post is a no no let me know and I will edit.

When clearance items are sold new and sealed for the same price as opened/display clearance items...then yes the 10% should still apply to clearance stuff. Make you sure talk to a manager for sure.

I agree with you, but I've tried talking to 2 different managers. One of them was a manager of the store that I bought the camera at, and I also talked to a manger at a different store. They both said that after a clearance item is at its "final markdown" (in this case, the camera was 70% off) price, they can't give an additional 10% off even if it's a display item. They were saying something about how you can get an additional 10% if the display item hasn't reached it's final clearance price. Not sure if I believe any of that though.
Anybody have the DPCI on white/silver DS Lites?
I believe the DS Lite number is 207-01-0033. Not sure which color that is, I think it was an off-white. I saw them at one store for the 30% off price, $90.98, I think it was.

Picked up a Haier 7" TV/DVD combo this morning for $34.98 (75% off). Shitty brand, but the portable DVD player I got my kid on black Friday already looks like it went through a fucking war.

Yeah I don't know official Target rules but it sounds like BS to me. They can take an addition 10% off whatever they want, and should. At my Target they have some crazy stuff though like they were trying to sell a returned, opened Sony bluray player with no box or anything for $120.

Must be YMMV because I work at a Target in the Electronics department and we USED to give a 30% discount on top of the clearance price if it was a display item (TVs & Cameras). Until just recently it was lowered to 10%. Personally I think 10% isn't enough and the 30% was better since a lot of those TVs spend countless hours being touched/moved around and sit on for 12+ hours each day. I tell people when they are looking at our clearance TVs of the additional discount when all we have is the display.

The discount isn't really hard enforced AFAIK. Was entirely up to my discretion, most of the management seemed to suggest 15% but I would do it based on condition.

It's just a button they hit during checkout.

Yeah I called the corporate number and they said there's no official policy for it and that it depends on the store.

Don't forget it includes the old skool ones as unlockables on the cartridge. Worth it for that.

Found a couple Targets with those Tomtom Ease & XXL at $22 & $34 on scanner, but no where to be found in store. No new Game clearance adds/drops at all. Every Target I went to had Animal Crossing Wii in stock at 12.48, but again, left over stock error.

Depressing seeing all this PS2 talk at $50, or even $70. My Targets haven't carried PS2 for 1 or 2 years now.

Snatched up the TomTom XXL 530S for $35 today. Was so glad I decided to scan it since it was still stickered at 50% off... Might have explained why there was 15 on Thursday but only 1 left today...

they discontinued this tv because every year they release a new model, not because something was wrong with it... I have this TV and love it..
but i got mine for $200 shipped from Amazon.com with a price mistake.
no they stoped making them almost imediatly. My father was remodeling his living room at the time and was gonna pick one up and they were having trouble getting one, after doing some digging and calling Panasonic thats what he was told. Yes the tv most definitely has issues with floating and rising blacks, go over to the avs forum and do a search for it

I appreciate the tip but I would rarely trust any info given to me by a CSR about supply issues. More than likely the CSR was just trying to get your father off the line.
There is a thread at AVS about floating blacks on 2010 Panasonic plasmas in general but the folks at AVS can be a bit...nitpicky, shall we say?
Even some of the people in the thread say the issue may be exaggerated. General reviews seem to be very positive on the set.

Thanks!
Thanks so much, jimijumper! Your service to the CAG community is very much appreciated. I for one am honored to be allowed access to update this invaluable tool to Target clearance hunters like myself.

To celebrate the new moderator privileges, I have updated the Wiki with the following changes:
3.74
[207-22-0253] Borderlands (vanilla/non-GOTY) (updated 4-18-11)
Bioshock (Platinum Hits)

12.48
Animal Crossing City Folk (added 4-18-11)

I am also wondering if it is at all possible to make this into tables or something to take this thread to another level. (Refer to this Wikipedia article to get a general idea of what I mean; is it even possible to do this in the Wiki we have now?) Specifically, I want to be able to SORT new additions by date added or date updated, so I can be on top of all the latest additions to the Target clearance. Just an idea. I'm willing to put in a little grunt work to make this dream a reality.

DPCI for the Brightboxe DLP Projector is 207 00 0339.

Not a bad price at all. I found this by the Wii accessories area.

Saw a full stack of Assassin's Creed 2 for PS3 on 4/10 for $15 or $20. Can't remember which. Sorry I didn't get any more specific details, I figured it would be on here somewhere already. Pittsburgh, PA.

Also, is it DCPI or DPCI????? The use of both drives my minor dyslexia nuts.

DPCI (Department Class Item)

Btw, if anyone in NE Ohio has an extra 60gb hd, I'd be interested. I'd like to get one for my library's Xbox 360 console for programs for teens. Send me a PM if you do. Tired of running around town on a wild goose chase.

There was one 60gh hd bundle for Xbox360 at 24.98, several 2010 MLB the Show for 19.98 at the Urbana, IL target. I only picked up a few SkullCandy earphones though.

Picked up the last TomTom XXL 530S for $35 last night, along with Samurai Warriors 3 $12.48 and ExciteBots for $9.98.

All this talk about GPS units, I picked up the last Geomate Jr for $17ish(?) at the Short Pump Richmond Target last week (sorry, I tossed the DCPI sticker). I noted other locations still had these in the mid to upper $20s.
