Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

The inventory tracker showed a local store with Mario DSi XL in stock. Decided to check it out, but no go. The clerk did a check on the PDA as well as on the register and no stock anywhere. Time to give up and wait for a deal on the 3DS.

At least I found a Secret Files: Tunguska for $4.98
Has anyone else seen those DLP Projectors (no HDMI, not 1080p) on clearance? I think they were marked down to around 89.xx or so from 16X.xx
Seen them out there and they seem to be selling out at the 50% off price point. Don't know if I could justify it if they ever reached 75%off. Composite connections make me think of using it only with the old consoles (NES, SNES, Jag, DC etc.) and don't know how good this projector may be.

Thought I'd check out a further away Target today since I was in the area. The clearance rack was so terrible. Less than nothing tbqh
all I still see at my targets are stacks and stacks of Animal Crossing Wii -_-
What's the price? $6.48 or still $12.xx?

For those who got the PS2 system bundled with Toys Story 3 for PS2, and don't want the game you may want to check Amazon. I was about to trade it in 2 nights ago for 4.75, but now the trade in value went up to 7.00. Not bad for a game I don't want :)

I also went to Target this morning. Didn't find anything good on clearance. I did see the Easter sale, and grabbed a few tasty candies :)
Final fantasy 4 heroes was $17.xx here today.
Just saw two copies at my local store for $12.xx. I don't have a DS or I would have grabbed one.

I actually went there looking for a Force Unleashed II CE that I saw the other day. The price tag said $58 so I passed. After getting home I saw that it may have been $20 according to the list. Of course I will never find out because it was gone when I got back. BTW that endcap looked exactly like the one at my store except put one of those large projectors on top of everything.

Oh, I forgot to mention the one clearance item I did pick up at the thong store: a gallon of spiced apple cider for $1.84 :D (50%)

Didn't see any peeps though. :(
Just saw two copies at my local store for $12.xx. I don't have a DS or I would have grabbed one.
Would have considered grabbing it at $12 but $17 was too much for me.
I've still got 10+ gba and ds games to catch up on.

Added Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light to the op list as well. Saw two copies at my store.

First good DS game I've seen at my Target, hopefully more to come!

Is this still a part of the trade 2 select games and get $50 off L.A. Noire deal? If so, it'd definitely be worth picking up.

Yeah, you hide the clearance games in the underwear section, not the thongs in the clearance games section.

It is going to get rejected if you trade it in, instead of a UPC on the game it says not for resale (I just checked my copy of the game from the bundle)

Does the game have to have the cover art? You could trade it in without it, assuming it doesn't say not for resale on the disc.
Zombie Jesus Christ God forbid retail employees get a holiday off.
I work at Wal-Mart and we were open on Easter, so I'm really surprised Target was closed myself.

Then again Target was also closed on Thanksgiving, they seem to be closed three days a year (Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas) and close earlier then us on Christmas Eve (I believe 5pm we close at 10pm)

Anyways Newington, CT had nothing for the past few weeks and are going thru a remodel. I haven't checked this week yet.
yeah we only close on easter, christmas and thanksgiving. last year we closed at 8 on christmas eve.
Where in the store should I look for the clearance section? I never seen one in the electronics department.
They're sort of tricky to find sometimes. Basically walk to the back aisle of video games and walk down 2-4 aisles and there should be a clearance end cap. They usually look like the pic a few posts above, with clearance crap piled on top of each other.

If anyone finds a :360: Monopoly Streets just chillin' in the wild on clearance, shoot me a PM. I'll trade with you or pay you whatever. I just don't want to pay full price for this game.
While I agree not many celebrate it. It's still there for the purpose of being a holiday, a day off.
Every Easter we have lackluster sales, almost as bad as say a Tuesday or Wednesday of the week (Wednesday usually being the worst since Tuesdays have new games or movies) to the point It' ends up being more costly to run the store and stay open. It always baffles me why any store has to be open every day of the year when theres always the next day that the store will be open, or worst comes to worst and you NEED gas or milk or some food for a day or two - well the gas stations are ALWAYS open, so whatever.

So point being I don't understand why stores need to be open everyday of the year. Also, I do not receive any incentive working easter (Wal-Mart does not pay time and a half or holiday pay for easter). Also Wal-Mart does not have to approve the time off, and if you call out, especially on a holiday if they are open, its frowned upon. Though we are allowed four call outs in a rolling six month period (I rarely ever call out of work, except in the winter due to weather).

Anyways, retail sucks and I am quite aware of that. I *puts on shades* deal with it.
New Britain, CT? Ouch...

For a long time clearance stuff was at the end of the book section a few aisles down past the ink and discs, or the middle of the toy section if toys are next to electronics.

Mine used to be by the books too. It was at an end cap facing the wall of DVDs in between the books and movies. This was just video/computer games and though, they still had other electronic clearance in the very back corner end cap facing the TVs and mounts. Now it's all back in the corner...what's worse is recently they moved about 100 (give or take a bit) movies back there as well which makes things EXTREMELY hard to find and very easy for others to stash stuff in.

I have yet to find a place where others have stashed stuff other than the actual clearance endcap though, like so many others have said. I check the clothing/underwear section and the auto section and stuff but no luck finding hidden stashes. I think that's mostly because the employees just take all the good stuff.

All they had here were piles of :wii: Animal Crossing: City Folk for $6.24. Weird to see a first-party Nintendo title make it that far down. I take it it's not worth bothering?

Nothing in the endcap clearance section (in Hazel Dell, WA) except for the :ds: Secret Files and Alice and Wonderland game. $4.98 and $7.98 respectively.

They had AC GH for :ps3: like the helpful item locator said. But it rang up at full price. Pletny of easter stuff for 50% off left though.

Two CAGs have reported it.

I picked up Star Wars The Force Unleashed for Wii for $9.98. They had about 5 copies just placed out on Monday.

It shows up as "Discontinued" on the PDA at my store and when I check the mobile site it states "Available only at Target.com".

Today in Clear lake shores Texas I found 2 Xbox 360 60gb live starter packs for 24.98. I could use the upgrade but i really don't need a larger drive on my 360 do I??

I started out with a 20gb hd years ago and now am thinking that my 250gb hd may not be enough in a few more years. I'd say pick one up and if you really regret it, just return it within the 90 days or just see one someone here still would like one (like me).

I went back and bought both for 54 bucks out the door. I had two 5 dollar target cards as well as two amex gift cards with like 13 to 20 bucks still on them. 8 bucks cash out of pocket! Call me a dumba$$ but I just figured out you can install games on the hard drive and that changed my mind. I also noticed PS3 medal of Honor Limited edition was on sale for 19.xx it includes the BF3 Beta and Frontline as well. Should I have gotten it as well?

Though I hope you realize that installing games on the Xbox 360 hard drive only speeds up loading times (for most games). You still need the disc to play these games. And for a 60GB hard drive, you're only able to install about 10 games (at 4-6.5GB each game) before you start running out of space.

I knew you still needed the disc. I don't need to put a bunch of games on there but if it speeds things up that is fine. Saves wear and tear on the dvd drive and the games themselves. I'll probably sell one of the kits to recoup most of my money

It's an Easter miracle, my Target clearance rocks!
:wii: Super Mario Galaxy - 12.48 - 207-26-0121
Currently trades in for $25 at Best Buy. There were two, I bought one, I didn't want to be an ass.

Also :ps3: Skate 3 - 15-XX (it was 15.XX, not 14.98)
Don't know the DPCI.

Happy hunting, all.

Great game.

Its been out a long time. Its been on the Gamecube and its been on the DS. Its not Mario or Donkey Kong--its brand recognition beyond core gamers is a little limited. IMHO its just reached its saturation point, especially since it is not a "game-game" but more experiential.

Kudos to you, sir. After all the greedy bastards in the thread about the $7 DQ IX, it's nice to hear someone leave a deal for someone else.
