Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
I thought most of the DLP tvs had crazy high input delay. Is that not true? A good LCD usually only has 20ms delay and that's unnoticeable.
err no 20ms delay is HORRIBLE. When shopping for a computer monitor i would never buy anything higher than 5ms and thats pushing it. id prefer a 1ms or 2ms. All consumer TV's have input delay. Only crts are truly delay free. Plasmas tend to have the best delay out of most consumer tvs.

front projection DLPs do tend to have bad delay, the one in my bedroom is a rear projection one that seems to have minimal delay. Less than a lot of LCDs i tested out.

@ the thread topic.. that guy who got the psp for 32 bucks.. wow man what a score. Im still confused how that happened though. I really wanted the hana montana one myself, but my targets shit, never have anything there

actually i prefer 5ms lag, it makes you a better player.
eventually you don't even notice it, and since you've already been accounting for the lag in your head when you get on a lower lag tv its like clockwork.

The Targets in So. Cal have been very disappointing. It seems we get the clearance stuff in then there isn't crap around for months. I would love to find a PSP bundle on clearance. All we can do is hope one shows up mysteriously.

That sounds like around here, except here the resellers and soccer moms buy shit up at 15-30% off, so nothing is left by 50-75%.

I may stop into the local Target today on the way home from the flea market and see if I can convince them to let me peruse their PSP bundles. If I see one with the stickered UPC on it I'm getting it price checked and buying that bitch if it rings up $32.;) Then I'll just have to find some games to go with it.
actually i prefer 5ms lag, it makes you a better player.
eventually you don't even notice it, and since you've already been accounting for the lag in your head when you get on a lower lag tv its like clockwork.
like i said 5ms isn't too bad, but i prefer even less. You usualy only find that on gaming monitors and stuff though. Consumer TVs vary pretty wildly

there are NO psps at either of the 2 targets near me. They had the hana montana and LBP psps quite a while bcakc but it seems as soon as theres one tiny price drop everyone snatches them up.. idiots

honestly im wondering if Target just discontinued the psp's because i have not seen any at the stores period in a long time. Im wondering if theyre just in the back room or something. Anyone know the DCPI for the regular bundles?

They had 3-4 of the normal PSP's with nothing bundled with them at the closest one when I was there last week, though I imagine if I ask them to see the UPC on the bottom of each package they're going to ask a million questions if I find one that rings up $32 while the rest are coming up $130.

My Targets haven't had any PSP's around for the longest time. I wouldn't mind getting another one since my PSP collection is around 55 games. I would just like to have an extra for backup if mine ever kicks the bucket.

THIS i have a lot of RPG's. I really want a backup but am waiting for the right price.

i hate the california targets around where i am, within a 10 mile radius i have about 11 and they all usually suck, im lucky if one has something thats not shovelware.

Targets in kendall (south florida) area dont have anything. No games at all in clearance section. No PSP bundles or even core units at all. I just lost my PSP a month ago so ive been hunting down a new one for a decent price, so far tho its a total bust... Maybe i should wait for the NGP2 or w/e its called...

Strolled into Target this morning and the 'clearance' section was pretty much nonexistent. I did check a few PS# DCPIs that are floating in the thread.

PS3 160 GB - $209.xx DCPI - 207-23-0017 (holiday bundle)
PS3 250 GB - $244.xx DCPI - 207-23-0011
And the Toy Story PS3 bundle was still $349.xx DCPI - 207-23-0016

I think those numbers are right.

Just tell them you're looking for a specific model number.

Agree with the death of PSP at Target. Only one of the 3 Targets I frequent have had them in but those 3 disappeared a few weeks ago, so now nothing. Also, the clearance section is basically gone as well.

I was shocked to see that TRU isn't really carrying PSP games any longer, they are getting rid of them much faster than they are of PS2 stock...

This has happened to the two Targets I usually go to. What's the deal? Why are the clearance games gone?

Retailers are basically acting like the the Sony Dolphin is much further along than everybody has been told it is. I don't know if that means they know something we don't or if it's just a decision.

But my Target and Walmart both haven't restocked the psp-3000 in a bit. Which is odd since the rumor was it was the pspgo that was going to stop being produced.

My theory is it could be due to the fact that the only way to play PSP games on the new system is through the PSN. It could be why buy a system where we will make no money off games anymore when you could buy a 3DS which our shelves are still full of DS and 3DS games.

Just a theory.
err no 20ms delay is HORRIBLE.

I really wanted the hana montana one myself, but my targets shit, never have anything there
We are talking about input delay not pixel display time. 20ms input delay is 1 or at most 2 frames. at 60fps the human eye cannot see 1 frame. Pixel lag on the other hand of 5ms or less is required. Most LCD HDTVs are 4ms
Just saw new inventory of PSPs at one of my regular Targets. Guy said they just got them in
Just got back from my store, same thing. Haven't seen them in months and now there is 4 in the case.

Saw 3 PSP 3000, but for $125 each.
I may have to just get a 1000 or 2000 of off ebay after loosing my 1000.

Edit: Went during lunch and all PSP gone.

Found DSI XL limited edition in rancho cucamonga, CA for $63.01. It was marked repackaged. I opened the box and everything inside look new.

Looks like universally we're hitting another clearance drought. Even the PSP's and DS's are extremely YMMV (more so than usual for Target) and those are really the best things to come out for a while. The games have been extremely slim pickings (especially on the 360, which is the only system I have left) and hardware is pretty rare.

With the normal gaming drought through the summer hopefully we'll get some good deals next month and into July.

Very true t my Target. 2009 and 2010 were packed as far as games clearance. 2011 - pretty much nothing.

That's what I should've done, but I had them bring the PSP's outta the case n looked at each UPC. No variant UPC like that one CAG found, so I said thanks and I was on my way.

Considering the PSP 3000 is $129.99 MSRP, someone really doesn't know their prices on gaming stuff if they thought $125 each was a deal.

Stopped at a couple Target's today, and neither one had any games on clearance, except for 1 copy of some ds shovelware game that has been there for a few weeks. They also recently set up a value game section next to the pc games, much like bestbuy and kmart have with all $15 and $20 games

The only things that caught my eye were a vizio bluray player and an acer netbook that look like they just started on the clearance cycle.

008-06-1056 VIZIO VBR210 $118.98

080-11-0304 Acer Aspire One AOD255E-13639 10.1-Inch Netbook $211.64

I don't think he was commenting on the PSPs being on sale, only that Target had them in stock - several people have been discussing their disappearance from Target. I also noticed the PSPs were out of stock on Newegg (maybe related?).

008 09 1421 - Vizio 22" TV

Was out of the box, but looked brand new. Power cable and remote were still sealed in their baggy. Was marked $105, but I asked for 30% off since it was open box and they agreed. $78 out the door.

Not bad for a little LED tv with yahoo Internet apps - Netflix works perfectly.

I saw this same one, However, guy wouldn't give me 30% off, thing was unboxed, screen had scuffs, do I have to talk to a manager ? I'm thinking about going back, employee probably snaked it himself.

It's discretionary. Employees can go up to 30% for any reason without approval. But there is no set policy so if he says no then that's that. Can try a manager but a good one wont make the employee look foolish for no reason.

Was $105 the 50% off price? Would love to snag one just because I love cheap TV's.

$105 is the clearance price,
to be sure thats the price you'll pay, call target ask for guest services give the DPCI and they'll give you a price.

ya this. WHen i was looking for stuff durring the TRU clearance they had like 4 or 5 psp games, that was it. No systems. They really did have more ps2 stuff than PSP. Like i said, I havent seen ANY psp's at Target in a long time. And i havent even seen anything in the clearance section in about a month. I dont know if they just completely discontinued PSP's and their clearance section or what.

Sorry if this was already mentioned, didn't see it in OP or the last few pages.

Playstation 3 Slim 120GB on clearance in unnamed MA store (I know there's other MA guys and don't wanna give away my store as stuff goes down very fast there with typically large quantities)

I see borderlands goty edition on ps3 is under $10. Does anyone know of a store in hudsonvalley NY that might have it? specifically around Kingston-Middletown? As I frequent these areas during the week.

I have borderlands on the 360 with some of the dlc but I dont care to pay for live anymore and have been itching to play co-op. The itch isnt bad enough to pay full price for the game and the dlc I already have though.

They're really cracking down on price markdowns, so the new "official" limit is 10%. Anything more you need an LOD (manager-on-duty for you non-Targeters) approval. I could see some people missing the memo, but this was quite awhile ago we were told this, and it should be common knowledge by now.
