Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
How would I know they put it on clearance?
Keep checking the store. Since he rang it up, then that's the price it's at. All you can do is keep checking the store.I believe that many stores mark their items for clearance on mondays.

Alright thanks. Obviously as you can tell I'm new to all this, I appreciate the heads up.

Also note that NBA 2k11 has only been found on clearance at one store, so don't sit around waiting for it too long. It looks like a one-off mistake at this point, especially considering it's the only current basketball game on the market.
For $35? Pick this up, it even comes with $10 worth of DLC and the extra stuff is nice (Steelbook/Free Month of Digital Comics/Comic Book). Nobody's officially confirmed (aside from maybeee Lupinko) that there's a Super/Hyper edition coming out, so. Despite Capcom seeming not to have a lot of faith in this game, it's pretty good, most of the complaints are that it feels like there should be more, like a spectator mode, series favourites as characters, and an ACTUAL story mode (which lends itself to the theory of a Super/Hyper in the near future). Expectations were definitely high on this though, that's for sure.

Edit: I did pick this up for $70 thinking it was a great deal because the series is very close to my heart and somewhat regret it now, despite ending up only paying in giftcards, but that's partially because I bought it from Target and now there's this new price that taunts me. I'm sure for $35 though, I'd consider it my deal of the year. If you see Amazon's price, you can see why I'm surprised Target even has it on Clearance, I don't think anyone's gonna sell it for any less than this.
"Regret"? Why? Yeah, I forgot that AngryJoeShow, on YouTube, said it has no story. And, is it just me, or is MvC a lot faster than SSFIV? That's making it, even, MORE worth it!!!!!:D Hmmm...

Thought I had something to finally post in here, but see some have already found the Sly Collection even cheaper at ~$15! I saw a lone copy mixed in with Monopoly Streets and Vanquish (X360) but it had no sticker on it. Checked it on the scanner and saw it was $20.98, close enough to $19.99 for me to go ahead and take it, since I'm sure it wouldn't have made it til next week's drop.

Picked up the RockBand Keyboard:ps3:(DPCI 207-00-1034) for $19.98. Most of the games seemed to still be on the high end of the clearance cycle. Monopoly for $29.98, Sly $22.98, Split/Second $22.98. Didn't pay much attention to non:ps3: titles.

Nice to see Target back in the deal mix, prior to this nice clearance uprising, the chain had been dead to me for months.

Picked-up MvC3 (360) for $35, and Sly (PS3) for $15. My store has 2 copies of Vanquish (PS3) for $15, I passed, but after reading some metacritic reviews, I think I may go back tomorrow and pick one up if it's still there. 2 days ago, these 3 games were nowhere on my radar. Typical CAG situation, and the backlog grows.
"Regret"? Why? Yeah, I forgot that AngryJoeShow, on YouTube, said it has no story. And, is it just me, or is MvC a lot faster than SSFIV? That's making it, even, MORE worth it!!!!!:D Hmmm...
Definitely faster-paced. Tell me if you decide to bite. : D

Also @ thedream

I've got for MvC3 for 360 too and I suck, in case you want some practice or something.

Wow. That's a great deal on the keyboard. I feel sad that I bought the Xbox keyboard bundle for $65 on clearance now...
Not to side track this thread at all but if you see EA sport Active 2, get it! It's a great work out program, I love it.
I agree. The wife loves it too and we actually enjoy doing the programs. It's amazing how this thing dropped from MSRP 99.99 to 19.99 in like 6 months.

Picked up MvC3($35), Sly Collection($15) and Resistance 2($10). I had $15 in target gift cards which brought the total down to $45 out the door. Not a bad day!!! And the backlog grows!!! We need to have the CAG backlog challenge or something so we can all start clearing our massive CAG induced backlogs

Considering the state of most of the Western countries, does that surprise you? :p Besides, most people use the Wii to get in shape, and Nintendo of course is never going to drop the price of one of its biggest cash-cows.

Edit: On a serious note, the 360 version DOES require Kinect (and it has some problems), so that might have something to do with it.

Also, ugh, my backlog is so huge from here, I'll gladly take on anyone.

Believe it or not, I saw Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 :360: for ~$35 on clearance (30% off). I thought that was pretty ridiculous, but hey if they're able to sell it [especially at that price], more power to them.

Other than that they had the netbooks for ~$215, HDMI cables for ~$25, and some other stuff on clearance. I was pretty disappointed since I've been waiting for the HDMI cables to drop to 75% off.

It normally sells for $40 now. Supposedly the $20 price drop is only temporary and will go back up on Sunday...

I swear MUA2 has been on clearance like 3 times already.

:applause: That would be awesome! Different prizes for CAG's with the biggest backlogs, the one who clears different levels of backlogs the fastest(yeah, we should be given levels, cause I hear some people cry about their backlog of 5-6 games, that's small potatos), kinda like make a marathon event of it. Amazon/Gamestop/Best Buy would receive a MASSIVE amount of trade-in's when we're finished.

yeah it's kinda disgusting--my target still has MUA2 for $30

Nothing too great in my clearance pile -- did get the last 360 version of Vanquish for $14.98 though.

Heres my story:
I also found 3 copies of Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock for Wii for $10. They've been like that for awhile, but when I scanned it, it was ringing up for $0. I offered $2.00 for a copy, but the idiotic Target guys will end up keeping it.

I laughed when I saw it for 30% off of $50 ($34.98). I expected to see a price of $13.98 at 30% off.

I pretty much found everything that has already been posted except for MVC3. I did buy :360: Monopoly Streets for $19.98. I usually don't buy games at 50% off but my son is really into Monopoly right now and he seemed happy that it was only $20.

I know what you mean. I've had to set up rules this year so my backlog can't possibly grow (I have to buy less games than I beat).

I have to assume people bashing the Kinect EA Active haven't played it much. It's not perfect by any means but I'd choose it over the Wii version any day. Plus they patched it so that most of the issues are non-existent any more.

Saw marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for $24 on clearance hopefully it goes down.

Does anyone know what day price drops usually happen?

The Sly Collection and Vanquish, are you guys finding these in the clearance section or behind the glass or both? Cause I've seen games priced like that behind the glass and can't find out until you scan them.

As I posted earlier, Walmart has a buy 2 360 games for $30 online and MUA2 is one of the available titles if $15 (+$1 shipping for both games) is low enough for you (despite the game selling for $30 @ Walmart.com alone =/).

As for the high prices on the game EVERYWHERE, I don't even get it, the DLC is off XBLM/PSS and this is only the vanilla version, you would think it'd be a lower price now... It came out in Sept '09. I hate how they think the name itself'll move titles at this point.

If you're buying my backlog, be prepared to bring the cash.

What if I play every single game I own except for Flingsmash? What will you do then? HMM?

I've just seen them on the clearance endcaps.

Is Vanquish any good? I picked it up earlier this week and haven't decided if I want to play it or return it. Is it like Gears of War? Plot line any good?

I would recommend it for $20 just for the fun sliding alone. : D (That's really the only original gameplay mechanic in the game, you can "rocketslide" across the map.) That, and it's by Sega.

From what I've read, plot is corny, but everybody talks up the gameplay.

I just got back from my Pittsburgh area target (Robinson Twp.) and picked up both Sly and Vanquish on clearance. I wanted Vanquish for the PS3, but they only had 2 copies for the 360 left, none for the PS3. There was also only 1 copy of Sly left after I bought mine. They had a ton of BFBC2 "Limited Edition" for PS3 @ $20, not sure what the limited edition was?. Nothing else really came to mind that was all that good.

My backlog is huge, and Sly was a compulsive buy at $15 - anybody comment on it - I'm thinking about returning it?

Three excellent games for $15 is beyond a steal. They may be PS2 games but they hold up extremely well.

That and they are relatively easy platinums to get if you're into that.

BFBC2's LE @ $20 new is good since it includes an online pass for the free VIP content (DLC).

Also it comes with:

As a pre-order promotion, EA offered the "Limited Edition" of Bad Company 2 at normal pricing. In addition, owners of the Limited Edition on all systems were given early access to numerous weapons and vehicle perks, which included the M1A1 Thompson and an M1911 pistol, as well as four vehicle perks[16] In addition to the six upgrades offered by EA on all pre-orders and the buyers of the Limited Edition.. blahblahblah.

LOL! I was, just, thinking the same thing!
I saw a third one on an off-topic board. Glad someone sees my point.
It's funny, because I went under the username PandaMan at some point, which is weird because I'm not even asian. Girlfriend also went under a panda moniker at some point. Pandas EVERYWHERE!
Edit: So many panda avatars, wowzerz.
I've had the same panda for 4+ years so pfffft to all y'all newbs.

3 = "so many"???

Well, I haven't seen any other avatars of the same species, and I haven't seen a lot of users on this board, so yeah. :p

Went back today to look for Vanquish. Found a new endcap with a bunch of low price games and a bunch of clearance games were there also. This is a new area for clearence games I guess. Got Vanquish for 14.xx and there was 1 copy left at Clear lake shores

Picked up PS3 copies of RESISTANCE 2 for $9.xx (1 more copy left) and THE SLY COOPER COLLECTION for $14.xx, and VANQUISH on Xbox 360 for $14.xx (3 more copies left) at the Target in Oro Valley, AZ. They also had a bunch of M.A.G.'s for $14.xx.

3 copies of Vanquish, about 4 or 5 of Adrenaline Misfits, about the same amount of the Guardian game, and I think 2 shreds (360 stuff of course) at Salisbury, MD.

If Vanquish makes it to the next drop I'll pick one up but the BBV b1g1 has spoiled me for the time being.
Is Vanquish any good? I picked it up earlier this week and haven't decided if I want to play it or return it. Is it like Gears of War? Plot line any good?
If you like action, and by action I mean tons of shit flying at you, mega-huge bosses and completely zany over-the-top moves (a la Bayonetta), Vanquish is totally worth it for $15. Plus you have a button that lets your character spark up a cigarette and smoke it.

Nice to see some good clearance again, as it had been a solid month since it was anything but iPhone cases. I'd also never seen the Sly Collection until it went into clearance in my store. Can't imagine they'd ship it in just to liquidate it...

Well aren't the pandas going extinct?

I'm pretty sure I've had the sad panda for over a year now.
