Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Thank you. How accurate is the the inventory checker? Because for me shows out of stock everywhere near me
Accurate enough that I wouldn't recommend looking for it at any of those stores.
still no new games/drops. did manage to find a couple of hot wheels tracks for the boy to screw around with. hopefully next week picks back up.
I always think of the Simpsons where Bart and Milhouse "play hot wheels" which is just them taking the tracks and hitting each other with them.

I agree with sadboy, though sometimes it is off. I've had the inventory checker say limited availability for a game and find nothing at that store. I would only visit the nearest store just to make sure.
I just called Target on the Hard Drive and they have them in-stock, but listed as clearance $48. At $35 I would buy 2, one for me one for the gf, but I don't know about $48. That is $12 down from Amazon, but I don't know if it is enough of a discount to justify. I want one as a travel media drive, so I don't take my full computer backup hard drive with me for fear of losing it, not its not like I am desperate.
What is with all these people calling!?!?! WTF is wrong with you people? Have you ever read more than a single post in this thread?

NEVER CALL. EVER.

You just ruin it for yourself and everyone else if you call.

As was posted just one page ago:
The quickest way to ensure you DON'T get the item you're looking for is to call Electronics and have them look up the price on that insanely priced thing in small quantity and ask them, "Hey, do you have any? How much?"

Because you're going to run across that guy who says, "You know," and he'll have it in his hand, that copy of Vanquish or Sly Cooper for $7.50 or a $80 hard drive for $18, and he'll tell you, "You know, dude, I just sold the last ten." And he'll gather them up and go hide them in the back to wait for the end of the day when he can buy them and then put them on ebay for a lot more.

And he'll secretly be glad you called and told him about that great deal. I think you'd be better served checking for yourself, convenience or inconvenience.
THIS times 1.85 billion.

Perhaps the employees in electronics aren't aware of some of the awesome deals that can be had in their clearance. You call, you alert them to it, and now forevermore you get no clearance deals at that store. And then you'll come on here and bitch, "ZOMG I never get any clearance deals, stupid El Hoardo is always at my store" When really it's your stupidass, El Phono, who ruined everything at that store by being too fucking lazy to get off your ass and actually go to the store.

So to summarize: NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER CALL!!!!!!!!!!

And then you'll come on here and bitch, "ZOMG I never get any clearance deals, stupid El Hoardo is always at my store" When really it's your stupidass, El Phono, who ruined everything at that store by being too fucking lazy to get off your ass and actually go to the store.
Maybe its just me, but where does this logic come from? If you were to call or go into the store odds are it would be the same employee seeing the same game at the same price just this time you won. I dont see how tipping them off will do anything but maybe kill this 1 deal... I mean you dont think they would notice some of the sale prices during checkouts?

You call and talk to the operator or at least I do. I just ask them to check stock and the price.
There is not much point in wasting gas in going to a store that doesn't have what you want.

scenario: updates are done in the morning. electronics guy starts the late shift. Had no idea that Game X was $7.48 because he hasn't had time to check or it really isn't on his radar. Someone calls and asks him to check it. Ohhhhhh it's $7 and there's three copies to flip/buy for friends: "Sorry sir, we're out of that title."

Lol. That's why I ask Customer Service to check.

LMAO El Phono, never heard that one before!

Damn. And, I thought I was a psycho... WTF???!!!!

I found a copy of :ps3:BF:BC2 for $9.98 (it was still tagged $29.98) :whee:; I'm downloading the update data for it now. It's taking WAY longer than it did with the :360: version.

Also, I bought :ps3:Truth or Lies for $2.48...I couldn't leave a :ps3: game behind marked down that low.

I stopped by local Target today picked up last copy MVC 3 LE (360) $18 and Sly Copper Collection (PS3) $7.50. Also Saw BF 2 regular version (PS3) for $10 and Ultimate Edition still $40.
Picked up MAG and the Sly collection for $7.48
Sly collection for 7.48 ! I gotta check my local Target. I never got to play the sly games cause i was to busy with jak and dexter and ratchet and clank to worry about another platformer. Especially with the way part 4 is turning out and the fact the other 3 look so much fun I have to pick up the collection. How many people here have seen the collection at their local target for this price or close to it ?
Of course it was the hoarders and not people who genuinely wanted it.

Seriously, does everyone here blame not finding a game on hoarders?
While I would agree that legitimate consumers and non-CAGs often purchase clearance games, there is no doubt that many of us have either personally witnessed hoarders in our area or read about them working our areas on this very site. Heck, a good portion of the posts on this site are from people who think it's ok to buy multiple copies of something to flip for literally a few extra dollars. Until that incentive and element goes away, I have no issue with people blaming hoarders and flippers for buying up stuff, especially when there are massive quantities of a game one day and the next when the price drops, they are all of a sudden gone within an hour or two of opening.

Well, with that settled, I guess we no longer have to have the hoarder/flipper/boogeyman debate in the Target thread again. Agreed? Agreed.

Finally found a Rockband 3 Keyboard X Game combo for $38.98 today. Been looking for this for weeks. Been going to two particular Targets once every week to see if the one they had dropped in price (theirs was still $69) and today one location sold theirs and the only one still had that one left, still marked $69. I've been wanted this keyboard since Rockband 3 was released but never felt like paying $80 for the keyboard alone. I'm pleasantly surprised with how expansive the music trainer is :)

El Phono
:applause:

Genius... "El Phono" is to be officially inducted into the Database of CAG knowledge.

Just patiently (turning into anxiously) waiting for that DC Universe Online (DCUO) to go down to $14.99. It's currently at Amazon for $36.99. I remember it being around that price earlier this month or some time last month. Someone had even created a thread about it, and I swore I saw the price go back up to around $49.99, but it's not currently at $36.99 on Amazon. I just wish it didn't have that damn monthly fee, 'cause I would have picked it up right now instead of typing this post.

It's not like we can just leave work to go shopping all the time. I mean hell, I missed some great online deals (like the $50 move bundle) because I was at work.

Way back when Burnout Paradise was still floating around on clearance shelves, I really wanted a copy for cheap. I hit up the 3 Targets near my house, one of which had a stack at a high price the week prior. All were cleaned out.

I was pretty bummed and jonesing to play the game, so I called a Target I never visit on the other side of town. I didn't want to kill my Saturday afternoon in traffic for nothing, dig? CS transfered me to electronics. I asked the guy about it, he checked, came back to the phone and said "We have ONE copy left and it's only $7!" Told him I was on my way and he held it for me at the counter (despite it being against Target policy I guess?)

When I got there he asked me if any of the other games on clearance at their store were good. They had some cheap copies of Fallout 3 which I highly recommended. He said he'd probably snag a copy when he clocked out. Really nice guy!

I haven't called a Target since then due to all this El Phono paranoia, but figured this story was worth sharing. Not all employees are selfish, lying jerks.

MC:LA complete edition showed up at my local Target for some reason for 19.99. I remember this was clearanced out over a year ago.
LOL. I found Truth or Lies PS3 for $2.48 last night. For that price, I had to buy it no matter how crappy it is.
My thinking was that if nothing else, I can keep the case as an extra and trade in the disc somewhere.

LOL. You guys that fuck up deals by calling in are doing it wrong. Go ahead and waste your time, gas, and money driving around while us El Phono's get the deals! Muah ha ha ha!!!

hoarders are the exact reason I never say which target I find my stuff at, I'll say the city, they can have fun wasting gas driving to all dozen in the area.

That said, I suppose I could PM if a specific cag would like to know, didn't think of that before.

That's all they need to know.

Managed to find Vanquish, Super Street Fighter IV, and Split/Second for $7.50 each.

Grabbed some extra copies of Super Street Fighter and Vanquished so if anyone here couldn't find one send me a PM. I have 1 extra Vanquish and 2 extra Street Fighters.

Edit: All on PS3.

this
I dont even mention the city.
When I found good stuff, I just buy 1 copy for my personal collection to play.
The hoarder / re-seller BS has wrecked this site IMHO

Unless you actually see a person with 10+ copies of the same game walking out of the store, I wouldn't be so quick to buy into all of this hoarder nonsense. Seriously, some of you guys are starting to sound paranoid and obviously cannot fathom that your local Target may not have the same games that someone else's does.

These titles are on clearance such that the store can clear them from their inventory. Of course there is a fair chance that the game will be gone by the time you get there.

I've seen people walk out with a bunch of a game before. When Borderlands went to 75% off I remember going to one target to watch someone walk away with 8 or so copies along with a bunch of other games. Which they showed up on craigslist the next day of course in the area the target was located.

My fingers are crossed for a cheap copy of :360: Split Second on tonight's Target run. Pretty sure it's been locked up at full price the last few trips. Have there been many clearance sightings of this lately, or just the PS3 version?

That's sad, but at least you were able to score Vanquish, Super Street Fighter IV, and Split/Second. And multiple copies, at that!

I had seen about 4 copies locked up behind the glass case for the past 2 weeks. Though, when i went on Monday, EVERYTHING was cleared out

Also, saw something a bit funny at another Target's. About 40 copies of Xmen Origin's Wolverine stacked ontop of each other for 9.99 XD.

I've only seen the PS3 version of Split Second on clearance.

I distinctly remember seeing El Hoardo with a gf or friend that is a girl with him as he cleaned out the clearance section. He had so many games that he was having trouble holding them. The girl didn't bother to help him carry some of it. There are some CAGs that are El Hoardos, but I feel based on the posts I read on SD that there are too many El Hoardos over there. They post about doing lots of shady stuff more often than CAG.

I just dont understand why it happens so much with Target's. I mean, i could understand if the games on clearance was like a less than a year old game that still went for 40$+. But most of the time, its either old stuff, or stuff that didnt sell well.

Just seems like premium douchery to buy up 5+ copies of a game to barely make 5$ or so extra per game, and screw anyone who might have actually wanted to play it out of the deal

People will do all sorts of crap to not have to work at McDonald's, and since there are so many locations and few purchasing limitations, Target is an easy hoarding... target.

Yeah, I sometimes luck out and get to a store before a lot of the people who hoard here get to it. Left 2 copies of each game too(last copy of split/second so i got lucky on that one).

Back when I couldn't find a job though I used to be able to make it to targets around me pretty close to opening and I'd get the deals. Now that i can't make it every monday I've found that the clearance is usually gone by the afternoon except in very rare occasions.

Looks like this store... Has a target on its back..

This week's haul for me was probally the best i have found in months

PS3- MAG (Been waiting for this one for ages)
360- Lego Rock Band (Random, but only 3.78)
360- Bioshock (Also random, but only 3.78)

Considering one store had about 40 copies of X-Men Origin's Wolverine, one was remodeling, and one is hoarder fest. Its probally gonna be a dry summer =/

Pun-Fest!
