Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Was tempted to get EA MMA and some other ultimate fighting game for the :ps3: since they looked to be marked down to $4.79. Didint think they would even be worth the trouble of flipping.

that sonic collection is great.. not only for old school genesis memories, but it's an easy was too boost your trophies or gamerscore on xbox.
 
I noticed the :ps3: Genesis Collection at a few Targets this weekend in that newer "value games" section for $20. Didn't seem like it'll budge like most of the stuff on that rack, but I'll keep my eye on it.

I wouldn't be so sure. Blur's on that rack at my Target and that's been spotted on clearance all over. It's really bizarre. I found Blur for $9.98, walked around the corner and saw it in the Value Games section for $20.

There's some other gems in there (Vectorman 2, WINNING!) as well as some JRPG stuff that some people may like. Not my cup of tea mind you, but to all their own. As always with clearance, YMMV. Haven't seen a report of a :360: version, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was at or near that price.

I assume you were talking about the Rego Park Target earlier. I've been going there every once in a while over the past 3 years and have noticed that the clearance has been totally dead for the last year or so. I think my last "great" haul was probably nearly two years ago.

If you haven't already, you might wanna try the College Point location. It's a short bus ride from Flushing. My gf used to work out there a couple years ago and she had decent luck when I'd ask her to check for stuff there. There's also the newer one in Flushing which seems to have much less foot traffic than the Rego Park one. Haven't found anything great yet, but I think it has potential.

At my Target, they actually pulled a bunch of clearance games (Contra 4 :ds: comes to mind), removed the stickers, and loaded up that value rack. I've been watching those games though, and running them through random scans for the heck of it. We'll see...
 
A very kind (and cute) girl at the Target on Libbie Ave price adjusted my Prof. Layton down to $7.xx. They were without power due to Hurricane Irene and were still open, much to her dismay. They had quite a few kiddie DS games (Lego RB for $9.98), a lot of iPad covers for $9.98 and a couple of ZAGG BT KBs for $24.xx down from $100. The KBs looked to have been previously opened though.
 
Picked up Marvel vs Capcom 3 special edition for 17.48 and
MLB 2k10 for 4.98 today at the Morgantown WV store. Both PS3 versions.

retail doesn't give a shit ...the only thing stopping it is the wrath of god for it to close down....even if a tornado destroys the entire store, you can bet your ass employees will be forced to work to rebuild the damn thing!

Hell, my local Target did the same thing a few months ago...no hurricane, but their main power was out. They still opened, let people browse and shop around the store (in the virtual dark), and you could still checkout because the registers run off of backup power. :)

That's customer service!

I saw these and :ps3: UFC Undisputed 10 for $7.48, which is weird. It seems that UFC didn't drop while all the other clearance games did. I even scanned it.

I did pick up :ps3: Marvel vs Capcom 3 Special Edition and it's up for trade/sell. Make me an offer if you wish.

Also, saw :ds: Warioware DIY for $24.98.

Not games, but I got a 2 person tent for my girlfriend and I on clearance for $20.
 
Went to my local Target today, looking for MvC3 SE (I knew that store has one copy of the game because I saw it yesterday). Checked the price on the scanner and showed it dropped to $17.xx! So I went to the last place I saw it in, which was in the lock boxes with the regular games and it wasn't there!! (NOOOOOOOOO). I checked the clearance game section thoroughly (of note, Metriod Other M for $12.xx) and still couldn't find it. Was about to give up, and casually walked by the cashier station at the electronic section when I spotted it. Immediately ask an employee to ring it up so I can pay, the guy asked if it was placed on hold for me and I said no, but I would like to buy that. He hesitated for a few seconds and finally rang it up.

I had a feeling that some employee earlier were holding the game for themselves and placed it on there...what could I have done if the dude who rang me up said I can't buy it because it's on hold?

First off, they can't hold games for anybody. That is why he sold it to u.

Pretty sure it's against Target policy to hold any clearance items for customers, so I assume your guess that an employee was stashing it is pretty accurate.

Sounds like an insider needs to scan the clause in the employee handbook about not holding clearance items so we can print it wallet size and laminate for this situation ;)
 
Yeah you're not allowed to put clearance items on hold and employees aren't allowed to stash stuff either, but it still happens all the time.

My local store sux. Saw Legends of the Guardians for $17.48, I picked this up at another Target in June for $10.

I traveled to a Target in a nearby town, found a MvC SE for $17.48. It was in a hard case so there was no spider damage. There is a little chipping on the corners of the sleeve where it was slideing around in the case. Kinda hate to open it.
The sticker says 50% off $34.98, wasn't MSRP $70-$80?

Also found some Case Logic 24 CD holders for $1.31 012 08 0653

Outdoor solar lights were also on clearance.

Yeah it was. I noticed today that most of the games that got further reductions to 75% off MSRP said "50% off of [insert 50% of MSRP]"
 
Didn't find any video game deals worth note today, but I did find 12-packs of AAA Energizer batteries for $2.48. I grabbed the last two. A minute later, an older couple came up and bemoaned how the last four packs were gone. I peeked in their cart and noticed they'd taken about 10-15 of 'em. I'm sure they'll miss the few that got away. :roll:

Saw that myself at 2 Targets today. 50 percent of 50 percent is a weird new trend but I like it!

I got a few Tatsunoko vs. Capcoms to trade if anyone is interested for an equally priced item.

Got all the free apps except the camera one, but given the bad ratings I'm not bummed about it. Plus, the digicamera lite works great for taking photos because they come out so clear and it's so easy to use. Anyway, thanks so much to all those who tried to help me earlier. I had to use the tech support chat on the pad to get help and ended up having to run webOS doctor to get the latest system update because it was still stuck on version 3.0.0.

Also just got the advanced browser app. It works great and even faster with tabbed browsing, just lacking some key features I would have liked for it to have.
