Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

No more Tatsunoko's at my Target. Pretty much no next gen games except Legend of the Guardians for almost every damn system. I loved the movie so I would consider buying the game, but it doesn't ever seem to drop below $14.98.

Last night, I bought Ruse (PS3) for $13.98 with a $15 gift card I won at work. I really need to get a Move controller.

The psp go at my store vanished two days after I asked the guy to price check it. Either it dropped in price or that guy bought it because he was talking about how it was never going to go down anymore.

On a side note all of the prices you guys post are double the price at my store even when I have them check them. I think they just hate me
 
Sorry if this is late - just went 122 hours without power - the Copaigue Target had several copies of Pokemon Pearl DS for $17.48 and Ruse PS3 for $9.98. Also Picross DS and several other "girly" DS games. Not much but at least it looked like a clearance "section" when I got there. Maybe they will now start to move out old games before the new holiday games hit?
 
Found UFC 2010 PS3 for 7.48 at Target on power/60 picked up 1 still had 1 left.

Also saw Indiana Jones games for DS 7.48 and the aforementioned Pokemon at 17.48 multiple copies.

On a side note they were remodeling and had a shit ton of clearance on alot of stuff 4 pk picture frames for 1.48, misc bathroom stuff (toothpaste, soap holders) for 2.48, beach towels 4.98. Good hunting

Ditto. I haven't found anything good since Christmas time. The closest Target to me doesn't even appear to have a clearance game section any more (unless they moved it somewhere else in the store that I have been unable to locate)

Stopped at a new Target while I was running errands today. Only one :ps3: title. Legend of the Guardians. 20.98. Which is probably $15.98 more than I'd pay for it. DPCI is 207-24-0398 if anyone cares.

And Bulletstorm is still 39.99 with no markdown. WTF?

When the new round of clearance came out last week there were about 10 copies of Pokemon Pearl @ $17.48, when I went in today there was only one copy left. Apparently it's good enough that $17.48 makes it fly off shelves.

Or someone bought 9 copies, and left 1 so it will drop and then they can get the 9 return/rebuy back at the lowest discount price.

I wouldn't put it past some people to try it.

I would say 30% for a Pokemon game is good enough to get the attention of many normal shoppers to pick it up, yes hoarders are always possible but sometimes its just normal Target shoppers.
 
Honestly its easier to hide games you want at Target and come back the next week and find them. I did it once with Pokemon Sapphire GBA last year. I put like 5 behind VHS tapes (lulz who buys VHS tapes right?). They were 29.97 when I hid them. I totally forgot about them. Then 3 months later I rememberd to check and they were still there (also proving VHS tapes never sell). They rang up like 4.97 or something. Now they are worth around 80+ on ebay but thats besides the point... You can hide and sell easier than return rebuy.

I've seen people do this. Amusingly, if that 1 copy mysteriously sells, then in no time at all another copy is returned and resumes the wait for that drop.

You have to respect the dedication to their craft.
 
I love finding and re-shelving clearance games other people have stashed. Sometimes that's more satisfying than finding a good deal for myself. Think of the children you filthy flippers! ;)
 
So can anyone confirm that stores are dropping prices on schedule today? I wondered whether it would count as a Monday since it's a holiday...

We'll try out this theory. I purchased the last copy yesterday. The next time I'm in if there is another copy I will buy it just to see if they return again. I will keep doing this just to fuck with them.

Of course there is the possibility that they get to it first and hide it. I've been looking for places nearby that people could hide games. One spot is the top shelf of the printer cartriges.

Considering the majority of thread regulars despise actions like this, I never understand why someone is always "that guy" and posts about frowned upon practices like stashing, deceit, return fraud, etc.
