The Oracle of Ages pre-order bonus is actually only available for pre-orders of just the physical copy of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. The hardware bundle that includes the game and a 3DS XL unfortunately does not qualify. I apologize for any inconvenience that this causes.

I think something wrong with you. That is a legitimate Target account--verified or not. If you can't tell by looking at the page for 30 seconds then I hope you camp out all night with the incorrect assumption that it's fake and someone somewhere is trying to trick you into think those are not on sale.

This could be true, but it's more likely the people handling Nintendo's twitter account screwed up(going by the Target BF advertisement). Wouldn't be the first time. Xbox and Sony twitter/facebook accounts say fake/dumb things all the time

Most of us understand this. Problem is you could have simply read the first line on the official Target twitter account that you yourself linked, or checked when I told you about it.

Why not just admit your mistake and apologize? Going this far seems a tad much.

Update - I called the BB back office last Friday at 1-800-931-3713 and was informed I would get the code for the bundle by last Monday. I gave them until today and still no code. I called the back office again and was transferred to the game dept. Stacey informed me they ran out of the codes. I asked her how that can be since they are currently running the free game promo if you buy the new Zelda game this week. They don't have an idea on when Nintendo will give them more codes. I informed her it would be advisable to send an email to everyone regarding the delay and that this will help decrease the volume of calls they are receiving regarding this promo. I told her they really botched this promo. I will be calling back in a week.

 
Final Update - BB Forum - The code generator is not working. Nintendo confirmed it was limited time. BB offered me $10 gift card. So much BS especially after everyone called BB to clarify and fix the problem before release date.

What did you have to do to get them to offer you the 10 dollar gift card? I tried posting on their forums about it and pm'ing that Matt dude but nothing came of it.

 
Nothing really. I was instructed to email Gaming-BBY with my order number and email. I was informed there were problems generating the codes but I would get it Dec 2. I didn't and replied back saying I gave them an extra week and still no code. They apologized and offered my the $10 gift card.

 
Did you do this recently? I'm a little worried I might have missed my window of opportunity.

I went on the BBY Forum on release day. I tried again the following Wed. The rest of my post are above this one. If you haven't received it it's safe to say you won't since the code generator isn't working.

I can corroborate this. I was able to get the gaming admin to send me a $10 GC after asking via PM. I bought the game but never got the code. They initially said the same thing but when they looked into it, the codes had run out and Nintendo wouldn't be issuing any more. So they comp'ed me with a $10 GC.

 
Let alone the 3DS bundle, I ended up ordering the game the day after release when they were offering OoA with purchase (NOT pre-order). Showed up as it's own item in cart, as bonus offers often do. I know it didn't show up for the bundle, and don't remember if it did for game only pre-order. Anyway, received notice of OoA cancellation and was automatically sent a $10 promo code. :) I wonder if they were even able to provide for all pre-orders...

 
It's only a $5.99 dl game that I'm sure we can all afford if we skipped lunch but it's the principle. A lot of us were proactive in trying to verify if the offer was valid for the bundle and were told it was. As many calls as I think they received, they should have researched it more to give us the right answer. They should have at least figured out how much they would need and contracted with Nintendo to insure there was enough available.

 
Didn't think to mention this, but when BB ran out of codes for BioShock Infinite's Industrial Revolution, a few CAGs went directly through 2K Games to get their code with success (myself included). So if anyone ordered just the game, didn't get a code, and really really wants it, I would try going directly through Nintendo. Don't expect anything though when it comes to the bundle. BB fuck ed that shit up!

 
I had posted on BB forum and put in a request with Bill. Was told to send a private message to their video game account with order info.

Next thing I know, I got an email with a code. Didn't pay much attention to it so I redeemed the code. Thought it was weird when I started to DL Zelda LBTW. So I look back in the email and they sent me a digital code for LBTW instead or Oracles.
 
I've started playing LBW and it reminds me of a time when games didn't hand-hold.  Back then you needed the power, Nintendo Power motherfucker!

 
Anyone who has one of these, be very careful with the gold top finish. It seems to be very vulnerable to scratches. I had a 3ds XL red since release and kept it in the same DSi XL System wallet and had no problems. I already have two small scratches between the outside camera lenses on the Zelda 3ds XL.

I think it's because that system wallet holds an oversized stylus above the system pouch and the system rubbed against the stylus when i placed it into the pouch.

I've seen other posts about scratches to the top part of this 3DS XL so just be very careful. I'm going to be getting one of those hori TPU cases when they come to the us in February.

I saw two guys playing their Zelda XLs and cringed when I realized both systems had absolutely no kind of protection at all. The first thing I thought of were the horrendous scratches they'll have. If mine was out, I would protect it any way I could even if I had to slap a skin on it or even a non-clear case...but mine wont see the light of day until the hori clear ones finally get here.

 
Are people that worried? I don't know. I never even realized people used protection on their handhelds since the GBA. I've been playing with the Gold 3DS like nothing. How much are clear covers? I didn't pay for this one to just hide the design.

The Hori one is coming in February although you can buy the Japanese one on amazon. No difference I believe, just $22 instead of $13

Well I learned my lesson when I got the Zelda GBA SP and Zelda DSL. Got some rub-off/scratches from playing them unprotected. You can pay double now for a clear Hori case from Japan or wait and pay half for the US release.

I was worried enough that I bought a 2nd M&L bundle just to keep the Zelda bundle factory sealed

I always wanted one of the Zelda limited edition handhelds for years primarily the GBA one. The premium on them is just too much to justify. Even the regular Zelda 3DS is expensive now.

I was worried so much about the condition I said fuck it and bought another bundle during the $150 sale. One Zelda and one M&L. The Zelda one stays factory sealed and the M&L is my main one. Got a 3DS XL starter kit at walmart on clearance. $10 bucks and came with 1 3DS XL case, ear buds, Car charger, screen wipe, 3x stylus, set of screen protectors.

I can't believe after getting the Zelda bundle during the last target sale that I never noticed a thread 28 pages long dedicated to the bundle I got.

All the times of being a cheap ass gamer pays off because now I got to splurge a little why still taking advantage of good sales.

Only time will tell if it's rare. Right now you an still get it NEW on amazon for $250 and the original MSRP price is $219 plus sales tax which for me is 8.5% which brought the total to like $238 bucks which is only 12 dollars cheaper then amazon.

Granted I went back the following day and did my $150 sale price match. I just purposely bought the bundle before the sale in fear they wouldn't last and people would get the same idea. Then the following day returned the day of the sale for a price match.

Lucked out took two Targets to get this and it was the last one.

I once had that cheap clear plastic case on my regular 3ds and the case hinges dug into the corners of the screen hinge leaving two mini craters.

Clear skins like ZAGG, Skinomi, Best Skins Ever, etc. would provide full body scratch resistance until the Hori cases come.
