I meant hard atheon. Hehe! Ive been joining hard oracles and templar for 2 weeks now with my 28S. The only bad thing is that some group running that part are iffy to invite 28s. So i try to get the checkpoint myself so in the ine inviting. But yeah really hoping to join a group tonight or atleast get a checkpoint from someone. I usually try and get a normal atheon checkpoint 1st which i now have and get a group to finish it then offer the hard oracles after. I think was able to do that twice with no complains.

I actually got it off reddit fireteams this time. I usually just pull up tabs on lfg, gfaqs, and reddit, on my phone and check every so often while I do bounties or something else. It's usually not to hard to find a group and I get invites from people on my friends list fairly often as well. Found a guy who had it this morning and everyone had multiple chars they wanted to get it with. Ended up doing it 3 times in a row with mostly the same group. I was going to save one checkpoint to share with people on here, but one of the other guys switched in a char he had already done it on before the last clear to grab it and said I could just get it off of him afterwards. He messed up and forgot to reset his checkpoint before grabbing it though so he actually had the Gorgon checkpoint.

If you have the shards and legendary armor, just level up to 29. You'll be able to get into raids more easily and at worst you'll be getting shards from those raid runs.

At first, I thought about holding off on the upgrades when I hit 28. Pretty much thinking I'd save it for the raid armor, but as you know... the RNG is one twisted S.O.B. that don't care about you. Make it easier on yourself and level up. Those shards will come back to you in the raids.

EDIT: I'd also add that if you're gonna do Iron Banner, then hold off until you get that gear :)

Can you enlighten me on that. Im not atheon savvy yet. Golden gun work well with what? The oracles? I think i never used my super when i did my raids. Hehe! Just learning them 1st hand.

Yeah i guess i might aswell make them 29s tonight with the mats i have.

I'm not a Hunter, but I play with one during raids ;) .

Golden Gun can one-shot the oracles. So you can imagine how helpful that can be during the Atheon teleport bits, specifically on HARD. I suppose you can use it during the initial oracle encounter (just before the templar), but it's not really needed on Normal and during HARD we just bust out Ice Breakers.

EDIT: re-read your quote & in case you or others don't know... during the atheon fight, he'll teleport 3 team members (if it's not glitching that is) into the Mars or Venus portal. In the portal you'll hafta take out 7 oracles and a few vex (either hobgoblins, minotaur or reg.Vex) while the outside team members work to get the portal gate open.

Note that golden gun only one-shots oracles if you shoot them as soon as they spawn (at least on hard).  Oracles get more health the longer they're up.

Man I just got done with one of the best raid groups I have ever been a part of. Went with 3 guys from my normal group and picked up 2. We went from Oracles to the end on hard twice. The first time we got gatekeepers and atheon on the first try. The second time we got gatekeepers first try again and got atheon on the second try. Still no boots for me though. I did finally score a VoC, so the fusion rifle is the only weapon I am missing now. Still have gatekeepers and atheon to finish on my hunter, but I'm almost rank 3 in IB on him already. I don't think I will bother finishing the the raid on him this week.

Now to see if I can hit rank 3 in IB with 3 characters before I leave Friday night. I'm starting to feel like that's the only way I'm hitting 30.
 
I only need raid boots to get my titan to 30. Did the raid on normal, got my 3rd pair of titan gauntlets. Then did the hard oracle checkpoint and got my 4th pair of titan gauntlets. This game really doesnt want to give me boots. Guess ill have to get them in the iron banner hopefully after i get them for my hunter. This is bullshit.

PS im sick of the slow ass messaging system of the PS4, im starting to regret not getting an Xbox One instead.

Grinding IB seems much more reasonable than I thought it was going to be so far. The bounties were pretty easy today. Got them all done on all 3 characters and I only spent a few hours in IB. Ended up with a little xp towards rank 3 on my titan and warlock. My hunter started out needing a little bit to hit rank 2 and ended about halfway to rank 3. I think I will make it pretty easily if the bounties stay doable and the buff keeps increasing. I might even go for rank 4 to get the class items for next time. Probably won't end up doing it, but I didn't think I would even have a chance at it coming in.

I am actually having a lot of fun playing too and the chat has been pretty civil. The only thing I'm not liking is Blind Watch which is even more unbalanced now. Bravo team dominates every time.
 
Wow i just got screwed by the iron banner. Had 5 of 6 bounties done with my titan, needed 4 auto rifle headshots, so i figured id wait till i get those to turn them in. So i got the headshots, turned them in, and the reset already happened and they decided to have the same six bounties again. So now my titan cant do any bounties on the second day of the iron banner. I guess its not that bad because they were easy, and i got my titan a sliver away from hitting rank 2 already.

Apparently during an iron banner match, i went 24-0. I knew i was doing really good but no deaths? I saved the video and plan to look back at it just to make sure there wasnt some glitch in the stats. Cant believe i went 24-0 in iron banner.

I hear ya. No way I am risking getting stupid boots for my Titan in the Raid while I am just a couple of points from getting them at IB and will get the other 2 characters all the way to level 3. All in all I was doing at least a 1.0 K/D ratio on the worst matches. Played for 5 hrs and only lost 3 matches....so I am freaking loving it. However, we'll see how it goes with the lvl 27 Hunter and 26 Mage.

On the messaging side...couldn't you just use a voice message?

Anyone else getting really bad connections during IB??? Played 6-7 rounds last night and half the time my team would be in the yellow/red bar connection status.

Resulted in some garbage matches; you know, I killed you and walk away only to spontaneously die too. WTF.

Well, got IB rank to 25% full on level 1 in that short time. And that's starting at 0, without the buff.

Bungie did think out the whole process pretty well. Now if they would just fix the lag :???:

Not just do the mission but specifically kill enough enemies or wait for Xyor to spawn in and kill him. I lucked out and had a FR to help him with the bounty and I happened to have mine at the same point.

 
Yeah thats a bitch of a level and I helped a guy do it so he said when I got to it he would help me. Its pretty funny since everyone says Thorn sucks but we all still want it. I have Hawkmoon and the one Xur sold last week...so I'll probably not even use Thorn...cant bring myself to delete the bounty though...

They announced that they were going to do some maintenance on the stat-tracking for the app and that it would be unavailable while they were doing it. I don't recall when they said they were going to do it, but I'm going to hazard a guess that it was in the proximity of right abouts now.

I just wanted it to say I had it. But sure didn't go outta my way for it :)

So far I've gotten Bad Juju, Invective, Thorn, Super Good Advice and just need to finish up the NF kills for Pocket Infinity.

Actually did SGA planning to dismantle it as soon as I got it. But held onto it for now just because it had solar damage & and I don't have any machine guns with solar.

It should come in handy for that moment that I forget I have Ice Breaker and Gjallahorn ;) Bwahaha :rofl:

you might want to do that fusion riffle kills during this week's nightfall. i think this and the nexus one are good once since you do it during the 1st section of the nightfalls with fallen enemies. i might have to do mine tonight since i already finished doing NF and Heroics for my 3 chars. hehe! I just hate that i may have to use special ammo synthesis for this bounty.

I got the iron banner boots today for my hunter and already leveled them up so she is a 30 now. I still want to get to rank 4 for the gauntlets and the cape though. Seems like it shouldnt take that long to get there. Now that she is a 30 i want to beat atheon on hard to try to get that helmet, so i can wear that chest piece with the fox/wolf on the front with my other iron banner gear. :)

I actually had a good day today doing the iron banner bounties. First match i played today i got the 10 kills with no deaths out of the way. The last one i needed was 20 rifle headshots. I learned that the machine gun is a good way to get those headshot sprees just because machine guns kill people so fast.

 
Got the IB boots on my hunter. Warlock and Titan are both about 1000 rep away from rank 3. Should be able to finish that tomorrow. Once I am done with that I will probably cut the amount of time I spend on this game way back until the expansion. Not going to be able to play at all from Friday night til the next Saturday and I will probably only log on to do the nightfall, weekly, and buy stuff off Xur if he has something I want after that.
 
About freaking time I get level 30 boots for my Titan! It really takes around 10 hrs or so to get to at least the necessary level to a decent level to start buying stuff. By 10 I mean taking breaks and fooling around or loosing a match here and there, and completing all freaking bounties.

I'm going to try to get my Hunter up to 4 just cause I rather have him at 30 than the warlock, and I am not leaving my possible 30 up to RNGesus. Granted with a lvl 30 now we have at least 5 lvl 30s that can do the VoG...about  fuck time

Did you start all characters from level 0, and how long have you played. Just wondering cause I want to see if getting both Hunter and Warlock up to 3 or even 4 seems possible.

 
I was 2-300 away from rank 2 on my hunter, about 800 away on my titan, and I started fresh on my lock. I think I played about 7 hours between them.
 
I'm almost up to level 4 in Iron Banner. I was lucky yesterday, got the Iron Banner hand canon and machine gun as rewards. Not too impressed with the stats or unlocks, I'll try reforging them later.

Wow! Wonder what the normal lvl requirement would be? Hopefully its at least 28-29 or else alot of people will be complaining. Really interesing. Tried getting a group together last night for atheon normal but lil responded. I guess alot are really doing IB this week.

Wow i havent gotten anything unique from the iron banner. I did buy a buff today before i turned in my bounties, not sure if that does anything. But im 100xp away from rank 4 with my hunter. Once i get that ill buy the gauntlets and cape and move onto my titan. These iron banner bounties arent so bad. I knocked them out in about 2 hours. The last one i aways need is usually melee kills or rifle headshots. Lucky for me i get those headshot spree and 10 kills without dying pretty early. Those always seem like the biggest pain, and take a bit of luck. Ranking up seems pretty quick too. I got my titan from rank 0 to 2 in one day of bounties. I will most likely get him to rank 4 before the event ends. So my biggest concern is getting enough glimmer to buy all these armor pieces lol. Guess i will have to WAKEN THE HIVE, and use some of those consumables to get extra glimmer from hive enemies. I did that the other day and got a little around 2,200 glimmer per 10 minute use of those consumables.

That video was cool, makes me want to get the DLC. I would really like to go into the raid this time not knowing what to do just to see if we can figure it out for ourselves.

Wasn't it mentioned that it would be 28 norm & 32 hard??? Or was that the rumor/guesstimate.

I think that's fair since everyone can hit 29 without getting the VOG raid armor.

And I gotta think they'll give us an easy way to hit 31, but 32 will hafta be earned thru the new raid. This might be where the "existing armor upgrade" comes in, or whatever that rumor was.

Anyway, went ahead and redeemed my codes this morning from the Ghost Ed. and then went to knock out the daily (another easy one... we've woken the hive!). Got back to the Tower and all my goodies were sitting at the postmaster, hooray. Then went and bought dups of the ghost skin and hot wheels sparrow so that all my toons have them.

Oh BTW, hate that Bungie fuck 'd the Public Events schedule. I wasn't one to farm them, but it was always nice to know where I could go to knock one out super quick. If a new pattern doesn't reveal itself, I'm just gonna ignore that part of the game altogether including the bounty tied to it.

I tried one round of pvp last night in iron banner...got last place for kills with like a .43 or something k/d, but I wasnt last for points because of captures. I just need to practice I guess...I was using Suros and seems like most people were also. I just got MIDA Multitool but its not leveled yet. Neither of my handcannons is leveled either so I'm kind of limited on maxxed weapons.

 
Start saving those black wax idols, unless you have hundreds like I do, word is you'll need them for upgrading the weapons from the next raid.  

I find the best place to farm glimmer is to play the Exclusion Zone mission on mars with the heroic modifier on.  8 majors spawn soon after you open the door, just kill you-self after the last one dies and do it again.  I'm back up to 20000+ glimmer after going down to 2000.

Thats usually where i go to do the 10 kill ultra cabals bounty. I tend to forget to use consumables so ive roughly around 70-80 of each type. Wasnt able to play that much last night. Hate it coz i missed out on the easy dailies.

I missed my 2nd daily run trying to figure out the pub.event schedule.. then a friend said the change was to create more events and at the same time make them more random (which I hope is wrong)

I just redeemed my Expansion Pass code this afternoon and picked up the fancy tumbling sparrow. It really does tumble around until you get the hang of landing after all the spinning. Driving the sparrow is now more entertaining and much less of a monotonous task.

I completely agree with you on the Public Event scheduling. I used the Destiny Public Events website a ton from my phone, but with the new randomizing it's definitely taking longer to knock that daily event out of the way. Earth: Old Russia seems to be close but it's still not accurate.

Playing the Iron Banner is pretty fun and like others have said knocking out the IB bounties isn't too terribly difficult. I mainly roll with a maxed out Suros Regime or Shadow Price (for the auto rifle headshot bounty and the headshot spree bounty), a maxed out Pocket Infinity/Invective/Patience and Time (10 kills & no deaths bounty, headshot spree bounty), and a Swarm machine gun (machine gun headshot bounty). The close quarters melee bounty isn't too bad either, it's more circumstantial than anything and just takes a little time. I hope to get to rank 4 with my warlock by tonight so I can pickup the gloves and bond.

I scored a Universal Remote from the weekly nightfall (thanks to CAGkrazy for the invite) which I'm currently trying to level up. I might use this over the Invective if I can get some more ascendant energy. :pray:

I got MIDA in nightfall this week...so I guess I'll get the warlock chest and level up my warlock so I have 3 dudes. This game man...I dont know if I'll even have time for Iron Banner - got company from out of town all weekend. See you guys in a few days I guess :p

 
bought 2 no backup plans, one for each titan. They don't have the best stats, but my defender titans will be even tougher to kill trolls in PVP.

 
I bought everything except the warlock chest, finally a week where he has good stuff. But why do they keep having the same warlock chest one over and over again? I want the praxic fire chest. Why cant they throw that in there once in a while? I just dont understand why they keep having the same piece week in and week out like someone might not have picked it up in the last month.

Oh and i bought another exotic helm engram and got the same helmet i had, which was the same helm i got last week from the engram. :/
