As someone who is currently playing Dragon Quest VIII as their first game in the main series (I might be the only person whose introduction to Dragon Quest was DQM: Joker) and is really enjoying it, this is great news.

Yeah there are some promising Wii games coming from Japanese companies, King Story looks awesome for instance. As for Western companies I think they're all too busy making generic dual-analog shooters.

Just buy it in June, everyone else can pick it up in April. WiiWare launches in May and looks promising, that can carry Wii owners through the summer until Nintendo can be bothered to announce the fall lineup.

Maybe (hopefully) they'll push Wii Fit back towards the second half of the year so we can get Mario Kart in Spring. It'd be one thing to have to wait a bit after the game comes out in Japan, but even Europe is getting the game in April so it shouldn't be too far away. I wonder how many players...

Super Mario Kart Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Uniracers

I don't know how long it is since I bought it recently but Mercury Meltdown Revolution is a fun game that goes for $20. RE4, Zack + Wiki, and VC Points were also good suggestions.

Definitley get Super Mario Galaxy, it's brilliant. No More Heroes, Zack and Wiki, RE4: Wii Edition, and Metriod Prime 3 are also worth looking into. I haven't tried any of the games that use the Zapper so I can't really help you there.

My favorites on the VC are Kirby's Dream Course and Super Mario World. Paper Mario, Donkey Kong Country 1+2, Bomberman 93, and Street Fighter II Turbo are also good. The selection is pretty impressive overall even if the new releases have started to slack off a bit.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a DS remake instead of a VC release, given Square Enix's recent history.

I like what they've done to the units. Battleships that can fire after moving, no more nanotank, bike infantry, no pipecannons or oozium, etc. The campaign has been pretty good so far, all A's and S's but I'm sure it'll get harder soon. Is it true they removed the hard mode?

Deep Dark Galaxy daredevil run is killing me, I've just died at least ten times in a row. It's such a small area you have to run around dodging all the fireballs. This might give Luigi's Purple Coins a good run for most deaths before getting the star.
