The closest thing to a local store of any sort around Raleigh is Play n' Trade. Technically its a corporate chain but it has the feel of a local shop. So yeah, all corporate chains. Local shops wouldn't be able to compete on pricing.

2 and 3 are regular practices in retail to avoid abusal of return policies. Though 3 could probably use to be shortened to "keep", not "keep track of". Target and Sears are two other examples of retailers that do this when receipts are not present for a return. There are likely dozens more.

there's really no "good" way to get the rhino sets cheap. Waiting on one to show itself at a secondhand store that has no idea what they're selling is really your only way to get them "cheap".

CAG ever becoming popular in the first place ruined the point of the site a long time ago. No one but rabid hoarders ever gets super crazy deals anymore, unless someone, once in a blue moon, discovers something before they do. Profits > your enjoyment (this works for most human beings, sorry)
