Do the L2 and R2 triggers work on older games? That's one of the reasons to use older controllers, because analog triggers, like on the xbox 360, won't work on them.

It does, but it's better to use a controller that does not have analog triggers like the xbox 360 controller. They won't work. I personally use a DualShock 2 to play the older GTAs. All the buttons work.
