This has nothing to do with anything but you know what I miss about the NFL? I miss when knocking the ball away after a catch with a huge hit was a viable tactic.

Guys like the old (young) Ray Lewis,Brian Dawkins, Brian Urlacher, Sean Taylor, Bob Sanders. People who would kill guys on a fade route or running a stretch play.

Seems like there so little new hard hitters now a days. P-Willis and Shawn Merriman come to mind but not to many other young guys. I remember back in the day when every game had at least 4 huge hits.

I just want a more physically game, I miss smash mouth football. This family friendly please dont hit the QB to hard is getting out of hand.
Speaking of that, I used to LOVE ESPN when they had the "YOU GOT JACKED UP!" segments. I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL told them to stop. Anyone else remember that?
Oh thank God I didn't start McNabb today...
I started him in one of my leagues. Thank goodness I'm in seoncd place in that league though. The only problem is that my backup is Chad Pennigton who is having a great fantasy day.

Yeah, and it was great.

Nobody watched Pats-Dolphins? That was one of the most entertaining games of the year.

Joey Porter talked and talked all week, talked all game, and they got schooled. The Dolphins started throwing cheapshots late, chop blocks, and even a fight on an extra point.

The Dolphins offense played well and it was close for a while, but the Pats pulled away at the end. Matt Cassel with another 400 yard performance, Randy Moss with 3 TD's.
There is going to be an upset in Dallas today.
Can Niners fans ever really be that confident?

On another note, I'm glad a decent team FINALLY stepped up and exposed the Titans.

Nope, I was stuck watching the Bills - Chiefs game :whistle2:&
Really?

TO has been murdering it today. I hope he continues to play like this the rest of the year. They finally started getting him the damn ball and the offense finally is starting to live up to its potential.
Heh, well I did say that before the game started. We would have had a good chance if butterfingers didn't start catching all the deep passes.

Man the Jets impressed the heck out of me, and I too wonder how they lost to the Raiders, but I bet that loss is what probably woke them up and made them wonder what the heck they were doing.

The time of possession was insane, the ratio was 3:1 at a point, the defense really held them down, but some things also went their way, ESPECIALLY those dropped passes by the Titans, who knows what could have happened if they caught those.
What I loved is that even though they had turnovers they did not allow ANY points off those, which really amazed me. I loved those long drives by their offense, Favre taking care of the ball, a lot of short passes, the occasional long shot although that INT had me a little nervous.

I hated the fact that they allowed the Titans to score so quickly though after Washington's rushing TD, that had me thinking about their previous come-from-behind wins on Collins' clutch TD's, heck, even Favre was yelling at the defense, he didn't want another situation like last week. I also got worried when Jenkins went down, but if Haynesworth can go down twice and still be able to duke it out on the field, Jenkins can do it too ;)

On another note, looks like the big WR's Moss and Owens finally have their big games and maybe more to come. I've been wondering when their teams would start getting the ball to them again, and what in the world is going on with McNabb?!?
There were a lot of gamebreaks going back to the Dolphins/Pats game, it looked like a real shootout over there.
Heh, well I did say that before the game started. We would have had a good chance if butterfingers didn't start catching all the deep passes.

We could be confident if the Yorks didn't ruin one of the greatest NFL franchises of all-time.

I know what's going to happen, were going to let Singletary run this shit for another 4 years, fuck us up.....

So tired of it....only thing to make it worse would be if they signed Matt Cassel.

Matt Cassel would be great for you guys, I don't think you've watched him lately. Back to back 400 yard games.

He does have Wes Welker and Randy Moss though. I doubt Cassel could be as efficient as he has been the past 2 weeks if he was on another team. I would actually guarantee that.

This.

This isn't to knock Cassel, but he has a great o-line, Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and Bellicheck as his coach.

That's how a QB succeeds.

The 49ers should just draft Michael Oher (OL) and give Smith a chance.

Ok just a little warning to all NFL fans. DO NOT EAT BEFORE WATCHING THE LIONS THIS THANKSGIVING! If you are expecting NFL calibur football you will barf. Its best to watch the Lions like you're heading into a quality comedy or maybe even a spoof movie. It is not meant to be serious sports. They simply act as a working "don't do" example for all other sports franchises. Tackling dummies if you will. Knowing this will greatly improve your viewing experience.

Wait wait wait....Oakland WON a game?!? And by 21 points?!? And against Denver?!? :whistle2:s

The Thanksgiving game is gonna be....yeesh. The Titans will be giving thanks for the NFL giving them a game against the Lions, and then will proceed to unleash an ass kicking, or so I assume ;)

x2
I found it funny when Mike Ditka said that the NFL should think about taking the annual Thanksgiving game away from Detroit and give it to a good team.
They should let a decent team play and just televise a scrimmage or practice of the Lions. :)
Eli evading to make the throw was luck because the Patriot in the best position to make the tackle (Seymour) was taken out by his own teammate on the play. It wasn't even a great pass, he kind of just threw it up for grabs.

The catch was a great play by Tyree because he made a great play. Harrison did his job on the play, and Tyree took a bad throw and came down with it. You can't give Eli credit for two defenders taking each other out.

And yes, Brady's ankle injury was a major factor. It wasn't his throws that were affected the most, it was his mobility, his ability to evade defenders and make the throw. His lack of mobility was a serious problem considering the pressure the Giants had on him the entire game.
OK, I think it's safe to say you may have the blinders on for the Pats. ;)
Matt Cassel would be great for you guys, I don't think you've watched him lately. Back to back 400 yard games.
Cassel is a lucky SOB who is going to get $8M/year next season from some desperate team and he is going to get absolutely crushed. He is the very definition of a product of the system. No college starts? No professional starts? No experience at all? No problem! The Patriots have a GREAT system in place and their success this season without Brady is evidence of that... oh and the fact they have the easiest schedule in the league!

I agree with you on just about every said. Also your Giants have had it pretty easy as wel this season ;)

It is troubling. I am not used to rooting for a Giants team that is actually good. Even when they won last year and made the Super Bowl in 2000 it was unexpected. Same with 1990 when the Bills were favored and the Giants had to beat the juggernaut 49ers 15-13 in Candlestick in the NFC title game (no TDs FTW!). I think 1986 was the last time they were actually the dominant team in the league. Look at the Pats from last year - it's probably way worse losing like that than when they got beat by the Colts or something even after a really good season.

Not really. The Giants got hot at the right time. There Defense was tough and they learned a lot from playing them on Week 17. I think the Pats pretty much underestimated the Giants going into that game. You can never look past any team, that's when you'll lose.

I noticed the blinders too :)
I really hope the Niners don't waste the money and try to get him, I don't want them to waste anymore time on quarterbacks that wont pan out.

I needed 15 pts to win my FF game coming into MNF and had Rodgers and Lance Moore starting. They've done the job and then some! Too bad I can't carry over some of these pts to next week!

Thinking that the Giants front 7 and David Tyree were outstanding is having blinders on?

Cassel was stuck behind Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart, two Heisman winners. What could he do besides transfer?

I don't think you guys are watching the games. Yeah, they've got a great system, but Cassel is making plays. Look at all the stiffs that are starting in the NFL right now, he's easily better than a number of those guys right now.

Fuuuuuuuuuuck.

I wasn't expecting the Browns to put together a good remainder of the season but I was expecting him to at least learn more about adapting to the NFL in preparation for next year.

I'll believe Matt Cassel when I see what he does against the Steelers this week.

That and everything else you said that was blindly pro-Patriot.
That and everything else you said that was blindly pro-Patriot.
You must be the one blind. I agreed with Dafoomie on a lot of things and I really don't like the Pats at all ;)

You = Anti-Pats :D

All this Boston talk reminded me of this:
YOU FACKIN’ TENNESSEE FACKS AHH STEALING OW-UH THUNDAH!!!

You fackin’ Tennessee $$$$$$s have gawt some fackin’ narve! Just one yee-ah after my beloved Paytreeuts take they-ah rightful place on footbawl lor-ah by going 16-0, you facks have the bawls to try and go undefeated too! WHO THE FACK DO YOU THINK YOU AHHHH?!!

(drinks 56 oz. can of Joose)

Like you’d even stand a fackin’ chance against the legendary 2007 Pats jugguhnut! Quite pawssibly the greatest team in NFL history! The Pats would beat that team by at least farty seven points. NO ONE DENIES THIS! Who’s gonna defend Welkahhhh? Fackin’ Cartland Finnegan? THAT DAHKIE ISN’T REAL IRISH LIKE THE FACKIN’ TAWMSTAH IS!

(shows off 666 shamrock tattoo on back of neck)

(puts on Timberland boots)

Like these boots? THESE AH MY DAHKIE-STAWMPIN’ BOOTS!

And these fackin’ Titan fans. What a joke. YOU PEOPLE DO NAWT DESERVE TO HAVE AN UNDEFEATED TEAM. Where’s yar fackin’ history? Did you evah chee-ah far Larry fackin’ Bird when you were-ah a kid, like I did? THEN YOU AHHN’T AS GOOD AT BEING SPARTS FANS AS WE AHHHH!!! Ow-uh team has been around longah, and that makes us bettah! EVERYONE KNOWS THAT FACKIN’ BAWSTON FANS ROOT HAHHDAH THAN ANYONE, ESPECIALLY YOU COONCAP-WEARIN’ SHITBAWXES!

Fackin’ jawnny come lately fans, you facks. If you don’t root far the Pats, then you don’t really undahstand what football is all about! YOU AHH CLEARLY JUST BANDWAGON FANS! Not like me. The only reason I sold off my season tickets aftah Tawmmy Brady went down was so I could get these calf implants! Fackin’ look!

(flexes calves)

I just have to laugh, because it’s clee-ah to anyone who knows this game that thah Titans will suffah come playawff time! You cannawt win in thah playawffs if yar fans ahh nawt on pahhhhh with the legendary Bawston faithful. You watch. If the Pats play the Titans in the playawffs, THAT NASHVILLE STADIUM WILL BE 99% RED SAWX FANS! We love nothing more-ah than going to other stadiums and telling people HOW FACKIN’ AWESOME THE SAWX AHHH! Jeff Fishah’s team won’t stand a chance!

(texts rape threat to ex-girlfriend)

Once again, the fackin’ Pats will triumph. And if we lose, it will be because the Titans clearly gawt lucky, ar becawse the refs facked us, ar becawse farces from the spirit warld deprived us of a victory in arder to keep America fascinated with the awngoing starryline of what it means to be a REAL BAWSTON FAN! Thats fair, I am very curious myself to see how he will do against a defense like that.

That was one of the worst calls I have seen in a long time. QBs aren't supposed to be mind readers.

I really hope they hire full time officials after this year.

So how many pukers did we have?

I couldn't believe the Eagles/Cardinals game, Warner and McNabb reversed roles in the first half, I was appalled at what the Cardinals let the Eagles do to them and how one-sided all the games were.

These were some crappy match-ups for a holiday game and how much they tried to blow up the victories of the Titans and Cowboys against two very terrible teams.

Thank God McNabb returned to form this week since I started him. I debated for quite some time on whether to start Rodgers or McNabb this week. I liked McNabb's matchup against the Cards D but was afraid he'd crap all over himself like last week. I didn't like Rodgers matchup against Carolina.

I know McNabb is a good QB, I figured he just entered a slump and he'd get out of it eventually, but against the Cardinals I wouldn't have imagined them dumping 21 points on them in the first quarter, of course, their running game had a lot to do with it, Westbrook finally broke out.

I still believe Rodgers will do a good job against Carolina, and I'm favoring the Packers secondary against a QB who threw 4 INT's against the Raiders D.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3733021

New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress suffered an accidental gunshot wound Friday night in a club, according to multiple sources.

Details of the incident weren't immediately available, but according to a source the wound was not considered life-threatening.

Fox Sports.com reported that Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg and spent the night in the hospital.

Burress, who was not expected to play against the Washington Redskins on Sunday because of a hamstring injury, was not at team meetings and did not attend the team's Saturday walkthrough.

The Giants organization was not commenting on the story.

In September, Burress was suspended for a game and fined for a violation of team rules, reportedly failing to appear at a team meeting and being unavailable by phone. At the time, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said that Burress was tending to urgent family matters.

Burress signed a five-year, $35 million contract this fall after helping the Giants to a Super Bowl championship last season.

John Clayton is a senior NFL writer for ESPN.com.

Guns and alcohol don't mix, people. Accidentally shooting yourself in the leg? That's some Pac-Man Jones shit. Well, no. I take that back. Jones would have shot someone else.
He should be suspended for the rest of the year for that one.
I have no doubt his season is over one way or another.

Derek Anderson isn't so bad, his WR's are horrible though.

Epic fail... One of their guards got overpowered by a guy 100lbs lighter than him, and Anderson's knee is hurt on the play.
