[adult swim thread]

It's like that was the episode of Birdman where Colbert decided he didn't wanna do the show anymore. Still, I loved the episode. And Frisky Dingo was good enough that I'll give it a second episode. It was just so freaking random. And of course I

Frisky dingo has some potential i guess. it was kinda mediocre as far as adult swim goes. a few years ago I would've been cracking up at the guys getting shot in half.

the ventriloguist scene was hilarious though
Tim and Eric's Sketch Show - A live action sketch show from the creators of Tom Goes To The Mayor. Premieres February 11, 2007.[2]
Looks like a new show is in the works and everybody will already hate it because it's live-action. I can't wait though because of the creators, who are funny guys in all the videos that they've done outside of the show.

Good news for you haters, Pee-Wee's Playhouse, is gone, almost. It's being moved to Sunday nights at the 10 PM slot. Home Movies takes over for it in the first sunday of the new year.

In it's place in the daily slot, is a new show called Smoking Gun and Robot Chicken. Smoking Gun looks like crap to me from the promos that are airing this week.

The new ATHF will be on Fix this Friday for those that want an early look at the new episode, which will probably continue for the rest of the season.

Also, some extras from the new Harvey Birdman DVD.

Actually, I'll hate it because it is made by the creators of TGTTM first, then due to the live action. I'll say this though, I will keep my griping to a minimum since Adult Swim Fix often offers things I actually want to see that are good. It's a bright spot for them despite the garbage.

Cool Birdman link. :)

Wow...

ATHF just jumped the damn shark. That was the most awful thing I have ever seen aired on Adult Swim. Horrible, horrible episode.

Can someone please explain to me how that episode got past Standards and Practices, yet "Zombie Jesus" is censored in Futurama?

Agreed. I kept hoping there would be something at the end to pull it out of the MASSIVE hole it was digging and there just wasn't. There was just no redeeming value whatsoever for it.

Aqua Teen was fairly funny last night, not great but decent

However, the second ep of Frisky Dingo I shut off halfway in. The first episode was hilarious, and it's already pulling a Sealab

frisky dingo is such a bore...hahaha the villian was an ass in the first episode. hahaha awesome-x is asshole too. snore

Yep.

I'm as big a fan of ATHF as anyone but that was just too damn much. They need to get back to the humor of the first, second, and third seasons. They have a lot of redeeming to do on the next episode. Ripping people's dicks off isn't a vehicle for humor. If failed miserably with The War at Home and it fails utterly on ATHF.

ATHF was funny... but it wasn't funny funny.... it was shock funny. Seriously, I just watched this on the fix, did they really say dick that much on cable? I mean... can they do that? Really?

Hey gang, sorry to hear that Adult Swim is circling the drain from the sounds of it...

But anyone know a good site to download AS shows?
Over here in Japan the closest thing we have to AS-humor is Hard Gay, and he's being phased out since people "found out" he's not ACTUALLY GAY. Haha.

Anywho, I DESPERATELY want to see Venture Brothers Ep 13 and I'm mildly interested in this new ATHF that has people up in arms.

Check adultswimfix on adultswim.com. I think they still have the ATHF streaming episode. No downloads though.

Thanks but I just found torrents for both shows! :)

Venture Brothers is brilliant. Was Episode 13 the Season Finale?

The season premiere of ATHF seemed to try to be shockingly funny like South Park, but they forgot the funny part. They pretty much tried to ape the "shit" episode of SP, but it was just obvious that they couldn't put together a story good enough to support that goal. The next episode seems like it could be a return to the normal style of ATHF, but I'll waiting until it airs.

Anyone see Smoking Gun? That show sucks and needs to be dropped ASAP. I'm glad it's only here for another week before its trial is over.

You know, I was just thinking about a similar situation in Futurama in which Fry was about to get his "Human Horn" removed. The subject was pretty much the same as "Dickesode", but the execution was so much funnier because it was subtle.
Was I mistaken that I read somewhere that Home Movies will be back in rotation soon?

That would be fanominal!
Not that soon, but you heard correctly about repeats returning.

Good news for you haters, Pee-Wee's Playhouse, is gone, almost. It's being moved to Sunday nights at the 10 PM slot. Home Movies takes over for it in the first sunday of the new year.

Let me check again with the schedule listing on AS.com. It seems Futurama will keep the 10 PM slot on Sundays for the rest of the year and into the new year and Pee Wee has been moved to the 1:30 AM slot on Jan. 7. Oops, the Home Movies return has been cancelled early. Sorry to the bearer of bad news. :whistle2:(

Some more future scheduling notes:
The week of Christmas through New Year's Eve, Dec. 25-31, will be full of marathons of AS shows each night. Boo to no Futurama supermarathon.

Monday, Dec. 25 - Venture Brothers [eps. 12, 11, 20, 19, 16, 18, 17, 15, 14, 22, 21, 24, 25, 26]
Tuesday, Dec. 26 - Boondocks marathon [eps. 1-15]
Wednesday, Dec. 27 - Robot Chicken marathon [eps. 10-40]
Thursday, Dec. 28 - Squidbillies marathon [eps. 1-20, repeat eps. 1-10]
Saturday, Dec. 30 - Bleach marathon [eps. 1-14]
Sunday, Dec. 31 - Metalocalypse marathon [eps. 1-20, repeat eps. 1-12]

There's a written note over the Metalocalypse marathon listing "Too much metal? No."

Also, Gigantor and Big O return to the final hour of the Saturday night lineup with the first Saturday of the New Year.

Assy McGee trailer

My response: WTF? Nice art style though.

Oh yeah, the first season of Venture Brothers is up on the Fix.

Thanks for the heads up on Venture Bros. Frisky Tanuki.

I'm glad they are showing Paranoa Agent again. There really isn't anything else like that show on american TV.
There really isn't anything else like that show on american TV.
There probably was. Fox probably cancelled it in the first season.

Zing.

It's a shame about Home Movies... looks like I'm actually going to have to schill out for the seasons...

While The Smoking Gun isn't that great of a show, I do appreciate how [as] is giving it a trial run before it's given the green light. That way they can look at audience feedback and ratings instead of forcing upon us what they think is funny. It's a shame that crap like PHF and 12 Oz. Mouse didn't get the same treatment...

I have to admit, I did get a chuckle at the naked bongo player part of Smoking Gun considering I live like 15 minutes away from Marshall Univ.

they shouldn't have even given it a trial. the idea of that show should have been trashed right away. fuckers need to get with it and green light shin chan.

I've been catchin up on this thread for the past few pages and i must be in the minority but I actually like Frisky Dingo. It's at least better than Squidbillies and Perfect Hair Forever and anything is better than 12 0z Mouse. I find Frisky pretty funny, especially that ventriloquist bit and Awesome-X started off rough and slow, but towards the end of the episode it got way way better and turned itself around.

I still wish AS hadn't canceled Stroker and Hoop:cry:
call me crazy but now that I know that 12 oz mouse is one big ongoing story, I'm liking it
I've hated that show ever since the first episode and will continue to do so. I've seen probably 3 episodes and the last one that was on and hate them all. I'm just switching from it for now on.
Harvey Birdman is freaking awesome. It'll be a sad day when the series finally ends.
I agree, but it's very sad to see Phil/Colbert (other than reducto) go. I hope that they manage to bring back Phil somehow. I wouldn't even mind some wacko way of bringing him back like a dream

Let's bump this thing up for the latest AS developments. There are now two new shows, Tim and Eric Awesome Show Good Job and Saul of the Mole Men. I've really enjoy Saul while Tim and Eric Awesome Show is a notch below that as a good show. The upcoming episodes on Sunday (Tim and Eric and Saul) are really good for both.

It looks like Trinity Blood is on the way out, as AS is listing an unidentified new anime on their schedule starting March 10 that'll replace TB. It looks like Home Movies reruns may be starting up again on April 1st.

As for some good shows on the Fix right now:

Harvey Birdman - Stolen Identity (starring Lewis Black as the Deadly Duplicator)
Harvey Birdman - Return of Birdgirl

It may be the new anime that's coming to Adult Swim, which the localization could be the reason for its delay in showing up by now. Though it's equally as likely that it's some other anime that'll show up next month.

Whatever happened to Witch Hunter Robin? They don't even list it on their website as a show that existed.
Anyone seen Saul of the Molemen and Tim and Eric's Awesome Show Great Job yet? The commercials make them look pretty good.

now they just need to drop Trinity Blood and my life will be complete.
Look about five posts above yours, as there are links to the newest episodes on the Fix of those shows and the news that TB is gone by March 10.

whoops :)

just watched them both on the fix. they were both pretty good, Saul especially.

Do you know what the new anime is?

Yeah, I'm a big Tim and Eric fan but I was surprised because Saul was a lot funnier. Saul was fantastic, while Tim and Eric was pretty good.

Either way, great new additions and a much-welcomed change from Boondocks or Saved by the Bell

Nope, it's just "New Anime" on their schedule.

Can't wait for the new ones though...I've come to the sad realization that I've seen all the Futurama episodes (didn't start watching until it was on adultswim.)
It's sad that this is the last year for Futurama on AS...

I hate Comedy Central (it was great in the 90's).
For what it's worth I'm not a huge fan of Comedy Central either, but at least there are the DVDs.

doo dah doo doo

now think about your dad

what's your dad like?

(new anime is blood + apparently. never heard of it.)

I watched adult swim back when it was only on saturdays and had Yu Yu Hakusho..and was after that it was time for Inuyasha...good ol days..
