[adult swim thread]

I'm lovin' the new weekday schedule. now I watch too much simpsons and too much futurama
He's not responding to half my argument.

At all.

Beyond that, I've already conceded a few things.

But ok.
How am I missing half of your argument? Half of it is about Home Movies, which has nothing to do with Metalocalypse. The other half is about out of context promos and that Brendon Small has no control of the show because of a conspiracy. Please point out what I'm missing if there's some hidden text in your post.

Edit: I look forward to your reply tomorrow. ;)

If you have checked out the new Venture Brothers and Metalocalypse, feel free to check them out now.

The second episode of Metalocalypse is quite good to me. I'll probably just check out VB when it airs tomorrow.

Am I the only on who kind of felt the end of Metalocalypse was disturbing last night? Don't read if you haven't seen it and still want to...

The producer screaming until all of the veins and arteries on his face were exposed and then his eyeballs exploded? Maybe it wouldn't have been as bad if they hadn't held it out that long. It kind of made me a little queezy.

Of course, I did laugh at the end where you see him with new robotic eyes...

Nope.
Fact: anyone who thinks Metalocalypse sucks should be put in a concentration camp.
Like...Michigan, perhaps?
VB comes through again. Another fucking amazing episode.
Ill say it again, best show on tv.
QFT. Hope they keep it up. It's the only show I specifically tune in for every week (on TV and the [as] Fix :) ).

They need to start figuring The Fix numbers into the ratings. I refuse to believe Venture Brothers aren't cracking the top 3. Refuse!

i primarily watch all the shows on the fix now, until the dvd rolls around. I just cant stay awake all night sunday to catch some episodes.

oh and the entire 1st season of the Brak Show is on the fix now. Brings me back to classic unbeatable adult swim....ahhh sea lab, aqua teen, home movies and mission hill...how i miss thee.
I keep singing Underwater Friends now.
Is that what Toki's singing with the fish dancing around him? That was hilarious and unexpected concerning the series' musical style.

Venture Brothers was also great. It was just an overall solid episode all the way through. I look forward to Friday.

I have no idea what to think about Shin-chan, so it should be interesting to check out.

I agree that it would be nice to see the combined ASF+AS ratings if it's possible. How would they go about discerning multiple viewings by the same people from just the average person watching? Different IP addresses?

That was comical!!

Did they change something? I could have sworn Underbeiht got the poison tooth in the mouth on The Fix version.
Metalocalypse was definitely awesome this week.
Not the clown.

I'm still not that impressed with Metalocalypse... even though this show was slightly better than the firsdt couple.

I still think it'd fit better with Saturday night and give that space to another comedy show. Perhaps some Sealab or Harvey Birdman?

Tonight y'all.

Thank God this is repeating. It seems like everyone found the first episode to be hilarious.

I'll say this much, as critical of Adult Swim as I have been, they have the right idea with Adult Swim Fix.
Is Shin Chan like this in Japanese, too? It's rivaling South Park here.
Considering the show has been around there since '92. I doubt it. It seems to me to be like Lupin, where they update references to modern times. It kinda makes sense in a way. Of course, if you go by strict Japanese references, probablu 98% of American audiences wouldn't get it and just change the channel.

Either way, I think its hilarious and hope they keep it
watched a few more episodes of Metalocalypse. Damn that show sucks hard.
You're just nuts. There hasn't been a bad episode yet. I loved the newest episode and can't wait for the next one.

I found out some bad news and good news concerning an AS show.

Bad news: Perfect Hair Forever is returning with new episodes.
Good news: It's not coming to AS, just AS Fix.

I've only seen one or two episodes of Dethklok, but what I have seen its really funny.

And why in the flying fuck are they bringing back Perfect Hair Forever. That and 12 Oz mouse are the most assinine shows on TV.

EDIT: Just read the last line, at least we don't have to be bothered by it on TV...
It's made with Flash, so that's the similarity.
I know that after the first season, Home Movies was made with flash...
i didn't mean the animation. more like the writing. the way the show is.
Meh, it's easily superior than anything on there, though only 5% of it is any good.

I'm not a huge fan either... I'm not saying it's a bad show, it just not to my tastes. I'll watch it if it comes on while I'm at the tube, but I won't go out of my way to catch it the way I do shows like Venture Bros.

It's still a million times better than 12 oz. Mouse or PHF... they both deserve to die AND I HOPE THEY BURN IN HELL!

Some updates and premieres from the new schedule:

-October 22 is when the new Aqua Teen Hunger Force episodes start if you really even care after that joke of a fourth season.

-Frisky Dingo starts up this sunday, the 15th. Promos are airing for this show now. Looks good.

-Some new show called Smoking Gun starts on the 23rd of October.

-Assy McGee starts on November 26.

-New Moral Orel on November 12.

-The new FG episodes from Fox start airing the last Sunday of this month, the 29th.

As for the stuff on AS now, the new Metalocalypse and Venture Brothers episodes from last night were great.

awesome, some new ATHF. The last episode of metalocalypse sucked hard but the 2 previouse ones where ok. The fan appriciation and I forgot the other one... i think it was the one with the banana stickers.

Does anyone know if Shinchan will be back ? I heard they were just giving it a test run and it would be a crime if they didn't think it was worth comissioning for a full run.

Did anybody notice that [as] edited out the word Jesus the other night? I think it was Thursday night... the Futurama with Atlanta and the mermaids... where the professor yells "sweet zombie Jesus!" The Jesus was blanked out... or maybe it was just me.

And I have to admit that Metalocalypse is growing on me. I keep hearing the theme song in my head...

Yup, they've been doing that since the beginning of AS, if I recall. It's the main reason behind the whole "Rejected" controversy from a few years ago, where it was pulled off the lineup just a day or so before airing because S&P finally noticed the phrase "Sweet Jesus!" in there. Don Hertzfeld was contacted with the option of having his work pulled or the word "Jesus" edited and he chose the former.

It's just one of the few hangups that S&P has with content, really. Considering AS tries to subvert whatever they can and whatnot where possible it seems like this is one of the last things to make it to air.

call me crazy but now that I know that 12 oz mouse is one big ongoing story, I'm liking it
