If all you have is the download of the game and you didn't get the first DLC pack free, I would just skip it (unless you find the code on sale somewhere). The second one covers what happens in the first one on the "previously on" thing at the start and it's honestly not that much content. The second DLC pack I thought was excellent.

There have been a couple of these threads.

On a good note though, I ordered one of these codes from a seller called "Videogamegeeks" off Amazon for like $9.78 and it just arrived today. I am downloading the full game as we speak. I think the breakdown was like $4.29 for the game card with code on it + $5.49 shipping.

Any way you cut it though, under $10 is a great deal for a fun game that you dont even need the disc in the drive to play! And on top of that, I picked up both the Alan Wake DLC's when they were on sale in December for the New Years celebration countdown thing... So Im now good to go and am gonna enjoy some epic Alan Wake. :D

Im currently 60% completed of 6.23GB downloaded. :D

Ignoring the fact that annoyance isn't blossomed from being offended, I'd chalk it up to this year having the grr bar set low, seeing as how Firethief is gone and FREE BIG KAHUNA REEF DOWNLOAD @ AMAZON! is either dead or buried.

INSTA-UPDATE: look at that, reef is still free. I should make a thread for it. :puke:

You know... this deal I have a feeling is going to turn into a "boy who cried wolf" scenario. Eventually I'll see another thread advertising this deal and there will not be shipping charges, but because of the spam posting I will miss it :whistle2:(
 
I got one for free from Gamestop. I go there quite often and apparently the Microsoft rep gave him 30 to hand out. Seems like they want everyone and their mother to play this game. I'm guessing they'll churn out a sequel and they're hoping that enough people will play this game and want more so they can actually top the sales charts with Alan Wake 2.

Oh, and if you have been on CAG at all in the past month, you would have seen the several posts made before this one. Sorry OP.

And to Kerig, in the general sense of the word, offended can be taken to be annoyed, as offended has a very broad definition. But, I mean, you do have to be very particular about everything, so I'll leave it be. Sorry to all the commotion this caused, didn't know it would upset everybody.
 
I really want Alan Wake... but I thought there was a version you can get with all the DLC... I could be mistaken, but if there is, is there a way to DL the game and DLC in one pack?

I got the regular box version from amazon and it came with the first episode for free, so I just had to buy the 2nd episode. That may be what your referring too. If I would've known how good this game was way back when it came out I would have gladly paid full price for it.

You're mistaken.

Retail copies of the game came with a code for the first DLC. The second DLC came out and the only way to get it is from the marketplace. The game hasn't sold well at all, so you'll probably not see a bundle.
 
There HAS to be tons of these topics floating around, I see a new one pop up at least once a week... Even if the deals go OOS these need to be deleted and/or merged together.

I think this deal has been posted about 8 times now, which really isn't an issue since even at $10 its a great game for a great price... what bothers me is that every single person who posts this deal always forgets/doesn't mention the $8 shipping.

+1. I mean how unobservant can you be? My guess is that they are perfectly aware of the shipping, but want people to read their thread so they leave that detail out. Oh well. And now I've contributed to the nonsense. :)
 
Just curious, does this come in retail packaging? Is that what they are "shipping" out?

Also, apparently the shipping is $7.99 ;)
 
Bad deal. The disk costs 20 and comes with the first dlc that you have to buy seperate with this code. It costs $7. So the total is 17 to get what the disk sells you for 20. Except with the disk you can save space by not installing or you can install it if you want. You can loan it and resell it. I think I posted this in almost every one of these threads now. Just buy the fucking disk for about the same price.

Will they ever release Pete & Pete Season 3?

Ugh. I tried to come up with as many questions as there are threads for this, but it'll never happen.
 
Man, this stuff just drives me nuts. The best games get ignored while the yearly Call of Duty crap prints money. Alan Wake could be the best gaming experience I've ever had. It's just amazing. That pretty much always means that it's gonna flop though.
